Yeah that why Canon use EIS instead of 5 axis IBIS on their camera, they must have seen the trend!

ntblowz reacted to Anaconda_ in Airport X-ray can affect DSLRs and bring hot pixels?
A friend once told me they purposely leave a bottle of water in their bag, so their gear gets taken to one side and held away from public until he gets through the scanner. Then the security go through his bag, throw away the water and off he goes...

ntblowz reacted to Andrew Reid in Panasonic S1 4K 10bit video mode to be present at launch with Hybrid LOG Gamma
Overlooked in the first articles about this camera is the 4K H.265 mode of the Panasonic S1. Similar to the Fuji X-T3, this will allow 10bit internal recording in HEVC with launch firmware version 1.0 - no need to wait for the paid 10bit update.
3840 x 2160 is available in 10bit at 24p, 25p and 30p with no crop - it is full frame.
The later paid update is for a higher bitrate 10bit 4:2:2 mode and V-LOG, but in the meantime 10bit H.265 provides the silky smooth colour of 10bit with HDR and much smaller file sizes.

Hey now, don't be so judgmental, some of us are poor Egyptians who can't afford more than one account for us!

ntblowz got a reaction from kye in Fstoppers moved to Puerto Rico. Have you had the desire to move?
Yeah, He owns a Yak-52 himself and have it shipped from SA to NZ. I think the pilot shortage make it a possible for him to jump onboard giving his age is not young any more.
Wow that close?

ntblowz reacted to Andrew Reid in Shooting with the Panasonic S1 in Barcelona
For long-time GH1 to GH5 shooters like myself, loyal from the beginning, at a time everyone else was shooting Canon, the S1 is a milestone. I have a bit of an emotional attachment to it already, being the first Panasonic full frame camera. It is not my first L-mount camera though. I’ve been shooting with the Leica SL for a few years now and it is still the most clean, ergonomic, minimalist full frame mirrorless body. It cannot, however, match the sheer size of the feature-set on the £2000 Panasonic S1.

i did move!
ive spent most of my life living in southern california, san diego and LA, surrounded by tons of people, traffic, all that. lived in NYC too.
i moved to the mountains to a small town of less than 3000 people, and i LOVE it. so good for my mental health!
ive done my time in the cities! so happy to be gone, the view out my window is WAY better

Nice piece.
Oh and the cheque is in the post for this plug
Mind you, I hope the notes he was taking were along the lines of "lets track this maverick down and license it" rather than "lets track this cheeky bastard down and sue him" !

For me a7iii works fine as b cam to c200, too much compromise on EOS-R for me.
But if you are happy with EOS-R then it’s good for you as we all have different preferences and stuff, there is no one camera to rule them all.

Thought this might be able to be my next vlogging camera, as with the Sony 20mm pancake it could be a pretty sweet compact setup. I can even overlook the selfie screen / hotshoe clashing, but no IBIS??
Sorry, the cheaper Panasonic G85 still reigns supreme in my desires to by my next vlogging camera.

ntblowz reacted to amsh89es335 in Perfect lighting kit in a backpack. Aputure Amaran AL-F7.
I put together a Interview Lighting kit that fits all into a backpack including 3 light stands, batteries, chargers and umbrellas. Got to test it out Saturday night and its perfect for interviews when traveling and I believe everything should be safe to carry on a plane. The new Aputure Amaran AL-F7 on camera LED light' have a very good energy efficiency when set at 55k color temperature and along with the GH5S and A7S Mk ii low light capabilities got me thinking about making a very useful scaled down lighting kit for travel.
I am using 4x Aputure Amaran AL-F7 LEDs with batteries. Each NP970 battery is getting little over 2.5hrs on a full charge. I have 10 in the kit giving me at least 5hrs of battery life plus 2 extra when running all 4 lights at 100%.
In the images below I have some screen grabs from the interview I did last Saturday. I got with my GH5S with the Metabones Speed Booster F2 at ISO 400 with V-Log. The close up shot was with the A7S MK II at ISO 2000 with F2.8 while being 1 stop over exposed for SLog.
I did a lot of looking around and for diffusing the key and fill and the best thing for being fast and compact enough to fit with in the backpack were Westcott Collapsible umbrella.
So even though I own a lot of lighting and grip gear I can find myself using this very often. Air Travel would be a big one. Cramped spaces like offices or small living rooms for interviews. But also when I do documentaries sometimes the subject being interviewed can be intimated by lots of lighting and grip gear. This would give me the freedom to make the subject feel comfortable.
The kit with everything in the list below was $1050.
Let me know what you think, if you have any questions or suggestions for improvements.
Here is the list of everything in the kit:
