Just got an email from my retailer saying that my Pocket4k has arrived and is ready to be picked up! I guess they made the September delivery!
Will grab it tomorrow.

The Cfast card and the SSD can be read and written to simultaneously so its a good solution for archiving and cheap at about £15.
I'm going to use this as part of a DIY portable standalone field copy device that I mentioned a while ago.

Of course Blackmagic are profitable but at the same time, compared to what the rest of the industry are doing, they are 'pretty much' giving away their products.

With the new BRAW codec, you shouldn't need to record onto anything other than SD cards.

I also pre-ordered through HOTROD the day of BMD's NAB announcement.
I'm 1st on their list, and that is the same feedback I received from them on the ship date.

Camera : Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K
Lens : Metabones EF-MFT Speed Booster Ultra 0.71x + Sigma 17 - 70 F2.8 - 4 Zoom. + Kani Variable ND.
4:1 RAW in 4K DCI 4096 x 2160p at 25-60fps on CFast 2.0 cards. 
 

It is sad but there is no waveform in the BMPCC4K. It would be nice to have it to be able to select accurate WB with a grey card.

The Hoya PRO filters are in effect IR cut filters. I’m the same way that Firecrest, Nisi and Lee ND filters aren’t designated IR cut filters but work that way. 
The sensor is covered by the same low IR cut glass as every other BMD camera is. 
A regular ND filter will show IR pollution in the right circumstances.

I'm glad that in the end SB 0.64x works fine with the BMP4K. Crop 1.21 gives us almost a full frame (minus soft dark corners of the lens).
