From Oxford, Ohio to Perast, Montenegro would be one heck of a long swim for me. Never been there, looks well, beautiful. Hmm.

Maybe it will be nice to share fast unpretentious vacation-shots around the world... At least I'm always glad to see them, so that's mine last one.

Yeah I love the opening shot. Thanks for the tip, I like small towns like this that are not crowded with tourists. So I may add this to my travel list.

Thanks, this sample is pretty decent, especially considering 120p... These guys behind ZCam seems to me very unpretentious, fool of naive but lovely self-assured enthusiasm... I'm really glad about their effort.

My problem is that IMO direction of thread more and more looks likes as that mr Brawley - based on his reputation and fear of some members that he could restrict his attention to the forum - started to moderate thread with his private opinions and memories and photos-from-location that are not just slightly or more out of topic, or just in one or two interesting cases - as. for example, revelation about it who was one of the first to embrace HDTV in Australia. So, for me it is contrary to evolving of discussion - my reaction is against evolving of someone's teaching free-meandering monologue that maybe better deserves its own guru-thread for interested crowd.
It looks to me as if, for the some bizarre reason, thread about this camera has to be pumping for the suspension, to the level that it IMO looks as tasteless pastiche.
We have here also other masters of the movie making, but I never saw that anybody behave with the same manner of usage of so apodictic approach in intonation and never-this-or-that sense in the words.

While I mostly agree, I see forums such as these as reference points for the future. Think in 3 years time, someone wants some information about this camera and they have to sift through @John Brawley's great, but off topic discussions. Similarly, if in 3 years I wanted to know the information he's shared here, I wouldn't think to look in a thread about a specific camera.
Agreed, but it's got to a point where it's much more than that, and having it's own thread would make that information a lot easier to find and would give it more weight. He's not just some guy contributing to a discussion, but he has his own thread dedicated to sharing his insights! In fact, a separate thread about which lenses might be good for this camera was created. That has more connection to the original discussion here, so why not make a new one for John too? It makes much more sense (to me at least)
Or, just an idea, we could just let this thread lie dormant until more information comes up. Most threads sink to the bottom when there's nothing more to contribute, let this do the same until there is footage or whatever. It doesn't HAVE to stay at the top of the first page until the camera is released and beyond.
When I come on here and see this thread at the top, I expect to see something interesting about the P4K, like how it works with a gimbal, or that the release date has been pushed etc. The last thing I think I'll be reading is a discussion about why the LS300 has sold less units than any other camera, and that the mount/sensor choice did or didn't make sense at the time.

So, after 129 pages long thread we started to be permanently learned about all kind of professional life experiences, thoughts and achievements of respected member @John Browley - about his personal views about art of directing, blocking, etc., about (congruencе and suitability of) cameras and mounts, about TV shows, about his ideas/comments regarding future producing-perspective of different camera makers, little bit about resulted destiny of different kind of directors, as well about some important  memories, friendships and personally relevant encounters... It seems that, without doubt, for all Eoshd members it is extremely important to read and learn these precious insights, but - wouldn't be better to open a new thread just about mr Browley's advices, tips, suggestions and opinions, where it would be possible to pose similar questions and follow free branching of topics and comments?

Choose the brightest and the most beloved/precious prime lens you have from 21 to 35mm FF equivalent. Why? Because it will be your best and intimate creative friend during the trip... and friend in the most intimate and contemplative hours could be just one... There is some magical-personal feeling to be alone with one prime wandering during day and night, that doesn't provide zoom's working easiness and convenience. You may and will miss some shots, but you'll put more of your soul in them... and that is the most important: not to hunt for shots, but to look for your deepest expression.

This is awesome or was, since the company has been bought by assumingly Panasonic or Red. The Andromeda mod gave the DVX100
fantastic 10bit 720p in 444 color, making it a magic super 8 digital cinema camera with its beautiful three ccds, bypassing the nappy DV format and showing its true resolution in pixels and color.
If digital bolex is the incarnation of its 16mm analogue ancestor, then the DVX is the kid of the super 8 bolex.

@BTM_Pix, Hey, you have done such awesome stuff with software on the Pana GX camera and with your upcoming hardware controller. Would you be interested to revive this project? I would pay money for this to have this unique ccd cinema magic in my hands.

This is where suspension of disbelief comes into play. Due to the stylized nature of the short, I buy it, but for a second, I did think how did she get into the back seat of the car so fast. Either way great directorial hand and ideas in such a small, simple piece!!!

Tripod mostly. I used handheld on a sandbag out of a car window for the following shot.
Thanks man. Actually I wasn't implying a transition of time. I wanted to make it hyper-dubious. She just shows up out of nowhere with no warning!

I rented a Master Anamorphic 50mm for another project on the Helium, but walked over to Chinatown in Chicago with a couple of friends to shoot this little short with the GH5s. All at 3200 ISO.

    SUCCESS!
Just to finish this thread, I replaced the eBay purchased Metabones XL with a new one. The new one had much tighter tolerances and even a weather sealed gasket on the back. I had to adjust the infinity focus a small amount but now my XL and Tokina 28-70mm work great together!

Or you have to have strong call-for-add-the-friend support, which luckily we have here in forum:
    - see subtle shades of colour (which the test confirms) - here is where shines @jonpais's obsession
    - understand what you are looking at - this goes only with 100+years-of-sober-wisdom/experience, which obviously candidate as ruler No1 @webrunner5
    - understand what you want eg, if you like the 'Canon colours' - there's no dilemma, I even can't read/recognize word "Canon" more, because I immediately see @mercer instead
    - know how to operate your equipment in order to get the look you want - @John Brawley is person to call, especially about very last toys in the market end especially if you are yet undetermined do you really need them (yes you need them because they have glorious IBIS, or because they have not disturbing IBIS but crown of RAW)
