Ehh.
For me the issue with Canon cameras isn't what they are, it's what they could've been. I mean how is it that 6D2 has the exact same image quality as an entry-level SL2 which has the same image quality as the top-of-the-line 5D4? I'm not even talking IBIS, 4K, 1080p slowmo, all that jazz. I'm talking sharpness and IQ worse than a smartphone camera..
I still recommend the SL2 or 6D2 for people who couldn't care less about that because in terms of ease of use and reliability, Canon cameras are way up there but I'll never support releasing 5 year old products for price of a current one.

The sample you posted is about as good as it gets with the GH5.

a bit off topic but how is the monitor in general? Anything you specifically like or dislike about it? I'm looking into a affordable monitor for my G80 and the main reason why I want to pick this one up is for LUT monitoring

I shoot 100% of the time with IBIS and never ever was it too noisy for audio.

adequate
No it's not. You wanna know why? I have plenty of out of focus footage from when my gf was helping me on a shoot

I find it difficult to believe that the Vlogger market actually exists. Are there really a significant number of people who want to buy a camera just to post on YouTube compared to all the other people would buy a camera to take pictures of the kids or whatever?
"Vlogger" group constitutes of people who shoot videos of their kids too.

So? Could have done both APS-C EVA1 sensor and MFT mount
(hello JVC LS300!)JVC LS300 was in my opinion so ahead of it's time that people didn't understand it fully which is why almost no one knows about it or how it works. It's such a brilliant idea.

Nice work! Couldn't understand a word but they can certainly sing very nicely, I watched it through to the end and that's rare for me with music video examples.
The grade looks really nice and your lens choices seem nice also. It's a very professional looking outcome to my eyes
Thank you man! I'm not totally satisfied with it but I'm glad people like it That was shot on the G85 + EF-M2 + C 16-35 2.8; graded in FilmConvert

@Adam Kuźniar They look good! In the last, it appears to be lit by led? Skintone is too green there; this is an issue with cheaper yellow leds. Halogen will render more magenta*
Cine-D was also at 0 sat (thereabouts). To simulate ideal Cine-D, lower the saturation in advance of the conversion (in addition to WB adjustment):
You're correct - cheap Yongnuo LEDs. Also you're right about the CineD Sat - it was at 0. Thanks for the feedback, I'm planning to shoot some stuff around christmas so we'll see if I can do better!
5 hours ago, kye said:Sometimes playing with the WB before the conversion can tidy things up nicely, and other times you have to do seperate adjustments to different parts of the image. For example in the wedding shot you could adjust skin tones on one person and not the other by using a combination of a key and a power-window. You might push the woman slightly toward pink and the man slightly towards yellow, or perhaps just desaturate him and adjust the woman to match him.
That's actually a "kind of" music video - they're a musical duo, she sings and he plays the piano. I should've lit it better to start with but in the final edit (where I didn't use GHa) I did separate the shot and give different WB/Exposure corrections for both of them

Has anyone tried these LUTs with LUMIX G80/G85 in Cine-D or knows to what extent its image differs from the GH5?
Or else: @Sage - do you plan to make an XT-3 version anytime soon? My partner just bought it and it's quite fantastic but until it becomes an Alexa colorwise, I refuse to use it
I've tried it and it looks worse than GH5 samples that were posted here but that's probably be also due to me applying it to some old footage that wasn't shot properly. I've yet to find time to shoot some proper examples and if I do I'll post them here
Here's are a couple of screenshots from Premiere Pro - CineD to Vlog applied + GHa Daylight. No additional CC done besides that
Here are ones with GHa Tungsten (where I think I messed something up while shooting)

Main demands are better lowlight performance than the GH4, build in stabilization and a good screen/viewfinder as my eyes have been better ?
You're getting all of that in the G80/85. I happily shoot up to 3200 for Youtube, IBIS is a game changer and the screen is tack sharp for focusing.
Honestly if I could get 4k 60 and better AF I'd not switch to anything else for video/vlogging.

Not GH5 but G85 here and I have my NR at 0. I did a test with -5 NR and 0 NR and found that for youtube, the difference in detail/sharpness is nothing compared to time saved in post with not having to denoise every.single.clip. Still, if I were shooting serious client work, I'd go to -5 NR and denoise in post for the ability to fine tune the level of denoising but in general, 0NR works great for me.

Wow look at the price of this ENG lens. Christ. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1309404-REG/fujinon_ua80x9besm_e_digi_1_2_ext_ua80x9besm_e_digi_is_4k.html
This is not an ENG lens, more of a sports/studio type, always mounted on a heavy duty tripod.

Premiere and Resolve are standing on a hill overlooking a field of cows. Adobe says, "Let's run down there and fuck all those cows." Resolve says, "Let's walk down there and fuck, one."
I'm in the edit on a long haul doc and only yesterday went from CC 2014 to CC 2019 because I was good with the bugs I had. But after spending 2 hours on finding and renaming dozens of .mov files to .mp4 files so Premiere 2019 could see them - right next to the other .mov from the same camera that didn't need to be changed - as it always had before, I'm excited to see what other tedious task I'll be put through in what is already a monumental undertaking.
At times, I like to remember my life before all this... and when I stand up and go look out the window, it still seems pretty, pretty, pretty, good - until I see Adobe mounting another cow in the distance. Hard to know what to think anymore.Hah, lol, had that happen to me but clearing media cache/peak files fixed it without having to rename ?

Depends on taste - from a hybrid (not video focused) point of view this approach (for me) is much more appealing. Tilt screens are better for stills - less fiddling, faster to deploy, better for waist shots. For video, is ok too (not so much for some rigs or gimbal). And if you need a front LCD view for vlogging, you are covered too.
No you're not. You can't see yourself with that hinge design.

Andrew...See if you can find out why they have gone to a triaxial moveable screen and not a full articulating screen. This seems really bizarre. Seems others like Fuji who had the fully articulating screen went to some flippy thing too. WHY? Is it acting as some form of heat sync or something? I really like the fully articulating screens but can't understand why all new cameras don't come with this feature, especially when older models had this feature. Very frustrating.
It's exactly the number one reason I'm skipping a7s2, a73, x-t3, bmpcc4k and now the Panasonic S1r. It's just dumbfounding to me.

3. Bitrate is still a paltry 78Mb/s in 4K. While it does it in H.265/ HEVC, the video was still very jaggedy and pixelated. Maybe they should target 100mbps with a firmware update.
78 in 4k for a fast-paced action? Holy crap that's why it's so blocky and compressed.

The camera will take current MFT lenses via adapter
That's interesting - will it work as a simple teleconverter? What about the light loss then? I guess the 12-35 f/2.8 becoming a 24-70 f/5.6 is better than nothing but still - I'd rather get a really good EF adapter.

This article is like taken straight from my brain and put well into words. Thank you for writing this.

It's hard to recommend anything without knowing what you need Jack.
Personally, 14mm isn't wide enough for me, so Sigma 16mm and Pana 15mm are out of the gate. Pana 7-14 is great but it's pretty dark at f/4. I'd go with Samy 12mm f/2 for that sweet f2 aperture, good build quality and overall great sharpness.
You might also consider the Laowa 7.5mm f/2 or speedboosting a Tokina 11-20 f/2.8
Olympus E-M1X - is it worth $3000?

Such a flop. I was really anticipating that live ND, thinking it'll work like in the FS5 but in such a smaller body. I was hoping that maybe they figured it out and now Lumix or Sony will start adopting it. What a disappointment
