hijodeibn reacted to Super8 in Sony A7S III
One or two pictures don't tell the story of color science does it? It means they liked color in those two pictures.
I judge color with my eyes. It's easy to do.
Now making excuses for color that you see with your eyes is what Sony users do.

Why are you still even here arguing with me? God has spoken and you shall follow the rule of three: Click Geralds link and add to cart Three A7S3’s.. a C300 Mark 3 you shall forget & replace with thee.

great!, let us know the result as soon as you can, I will get the same combo if overheating is manageable.

Good luck with the umbrella tied to your back doing run and gun on the streets, police probably will think you are crazy and do not ask you for the permissions, nice strategy.

This looks horrible. No different to any a7iii footage you see out there, but worse even. It's got good paper specs though....
This is perfect video for this camera as well - travel, youtube, young people selling capitalist lifestyle. People will click on it because they like the camera and specs and marketing bs.
But no professional can use this overheating in 24p. Just like the canon turd. But at least with canon, you spend 2000 more and get c200 with nd, raw, audio input, etc.
Youtube and vloggers like small form factor the most, and want to sell to you even though it overheat crap.

2020 is a lost year, I will stay in quarantine until January 2021, then will look through the window and if all is the same will come back to bed.

Well I got R6 pre-ordered.. C200 and R still gonna be the main workhorse, i might try borrow ninja v and see how that goes for extended shooting.

I might get R6 instead, the Sony yellow is still there on A7SIII, and R6's quality is way sharper than A7SIII in 4K, much better IBIS.
at 25600 ISO R6 still as clean as A7SIII and sharper.. you barely can read the text on A7sIII but R6 is really clear

I'm sorry, I just can't get over that upside down sony when the screen is flipped out. It is so obnoxious. It's this kind of lack of attention to detail coupled with the fugly menu system that just makes me question the designers. You are right Andrew, there is no soul to this camera.
At least with the S1 you get a beautifully designed, rugged body which makes you want to shoot.
Pending the heat management, though, this looks like a solid corporate camera for people who care about form factor.
It doesn't crush anything. The s1h is netlfix approved camera for a reason and is reliable. We are yet to see what this will do other than a puff piece.
People who judge a camera just on specs make me cringe.

hijodeibn reacted to Oliver Daniel in Canon EOS R5 / R6 overheating discussion all in one place
My R5 pre-order is 0.1% away from a very sad death.
Just imagining a scenario when you turn up to shoot, the client says "would you mind getting a few stills for us first before the slo-mos?", and you're like "erm... where's the nearest fridge?"

hijodeibn reacted to mkabi in Canon EOS R5 has serious overheating issues – in both 4K and 8K
You need to stop watching stuff that advertise comic book movies.
There are plenty of other movies, reality is movie theatres want everybody's money - not just people that want to see comic book movies. So, naturally, they will show other movies and examples of movies I saw at the cinema: Lady Bird, Get Out...

hijodeibn reacted to Yurolov in Canon R6 overheats as well.
Not sure if we are allowed to post this here:
But judging by this it is an unmitigated disaster of a camera...although that is not the impression you get from dpreview where there was no overheating at 24p. But summer in japan can get hot. Originally, I thought this would be a good camera, but if it is this bad, then I don't know how you could justify purchasing it.

The main issue is the RS, and for the final price you can get something more suitable for you needs

hijodeibn reacted to BenEricson in Blackmagic casually announces 12K URSA Mini Pro Camera
That's not how IR pollution works though. Raw might help you slightly, but you'll spend hours applying masks to the effected areas.
I'm not sure BM ever even officially announced the IR pollution issues with the bmpcc or bmmcc, even though the camera is basically unusable without one.
For what it's worth, I use the C300 Mk2s constantly and have never seen a trace of IR pollution. The baked in color profiles on a Canon C series camera are pretty damn close to "perfect color out of the box."

hijodeibn reacted to zerocool22 in Gimbal for URSA Mini Pro 12K?
Dont forget to get the sylvester stalone biceps accessoire.
But seems like an reasonable result, i have done a ump rig on a dji ronin with extended arms. But was quite the drag setting it up and also the weight of the rig itself, good for a couple of shots. But for a 4 hour shoot, you def need an easyrig.

so true, it is so difficult to get good talent, usually is expensive and not affordable, but sometimes you are lucky and you are able to catch one or two who really make the difference.

hijodeibn reacted to Super8 in 12K. I want an engineer's thoughts...
I did say this:
John does great wonderful work. I have no problem with saying that. His blog post about the BM12k was great and I said that. Magenta cut on his footage is not great.
The "first thing a camera should do is make fantastic pictures".

hijodeibn reacted to Super8 in 12K. I want an engineer's thoughts...
I might end up getting the P6K before it's all said and done. I don't know.
The technical issues of Gen3,4,5 color worries me. Maybe @John Brawley can tell me how bad P6K color is in certain areas and how to avoid color issues.
With BM I'm not looking for Sony color or Nikon color or even Canon color. I want cine color because that's what's advertised.
If not BM my next camera will be above $10K if the lower priced cine cameras are filled with issues and if they all play games with the cripple hammer. I have a feeling you can't get a good cine sensor under $10K.

hijodeibn reacted to Super8 in Overheat Testing 28 Cameras in Blistering Sun
I don't understand your comment. In the US southeast it's 94 degrees today. In the US western states such as Las Vegas NV it was 108 degrees today.
Most of the US has the dog days of summer so any camera if fair game to overheat and have to own that overheating.
