Did you take that screenshot? That is much clearer than what I was able to render.

Well, I bought the auto focus thing too. Good catch on both accounts.

Is it possible the screen is larger? I don't think so, but was hoping. It looks identical other than that red ring.

Yes, I watched the video again in 4k, and realized the red ring stands out pretty good in that particular scene. After taking the screenshot I noticed I was wrong with what I originally thought.

From what we see, I don't think there's a difference in screen size... but who knows. Heres to hope, ?.

Forget the nonsense about red buttons... anyone else notice the difference around the AF/AE lock button on the GH5 in comparison to the camera body in Lukes photo?

    Different Camera for sure.

I took another look, and realized what I thought I saw with the AF/AE button was not the case. ( LOL ) Looking at another screen shot, it's pretty much identical to the GH5 with it's button arrangement, and labeling. The only visible difference that I can see is the drive mode dial red ring, no red buttons...  Either way, I'll be putting my name down for one :glasses: to be shipped my way as soon as it's officially announced.

Well if you bought a GH5 last week for $1999, and in 3 weeks a $2499 S35mm sensor version was announced, would you be a little annoyed?

If your GH5 camera that you purchased last week is working as advertised, you shouldn't be annoyed or pissed.  If S35 sensor was what you were really after you probably shouldn't have purchased a GH5 last week. :glasses: Just playing along, but honestly... If your new/ish camera is working as advertised, you should love using your new camera, I mean you've only had it a week. :glasses:

    It depends.

If the new gh5s fixes the bad things of the current GH5, which are really poor AF and bad low light performance, then the current gh5 will lose a lot of value, which is not acceptable for a product released only for a few months.

I understand that you only purchased the GH5 3 weeks ago, but it has been released since March, that's a bit more than a few months. If there is announcement Dec 15th, at that time you'll have the option to really weigh things out and know if your buyers remorse is justified. Until then, I see no reason why you cant enjoy your GH5 for all the other good things that enticed you to buy it just 3 weeks ago.

  5. The Nocticron is a serious piece of glass for m43, I don't understand why more shooters on the m43 side dont at least give it a try. Price? yeah ok, but Ive had three at various times, sell them, and then buy another one. Each time I've tlisted one for sale, they sit around on boards forever until I forget Ive listed them for sale. Priced at around 925.00 to 975.00 always pristine. Shrugs, I dunno.

Also great to see someone using a trio of phenomenal MFT glass: the Panasonic Leica 25mm f/1.4, the
    Panasonic Leica 42.5mm f/1.2 and the Olympus 75mm f/1.8.

Yes agreed, the lens selection is really A1. I haven't used the 75, but almost picked up one a couple months back.

  7. I'm all for the test, the observation, and the progression through understanding, but it always goes way past that because people are just way too sensitive, and emotional about cameras. Grown adults spending thousands of dollars for gear, over, and over again to argue over brand bias  :dissapointed_relieved:

This camera VS ( your camera choice here ) The camera fraternity wars are at full steam, LOL! Someone might get shot!!! ( it'll be OK if it's cinematic )

You're either with us, or against us. Canon runs this side of the tracks, We don't like your tiny sensors, and we don't like your camera's AF system, you're not welcome here.   Street gangs fight over silly things like street signs and clothing colors, Camera gangs fight over camera brand support... It's comical that so many adults have no issue wasting time arguing over camera's they never planned to buy. On both sides, people are way too emotional, It's like they need others to cosign the camera  THEY CHOSE so THEY can feel justified with the decision to purchase their choice of camera.

AF use or Strictly Manual... isnt that personal preference.

Creating art... choice of tools really doesn't matter because it's always going to be subjective. As always carry on! :glasses:

True, very true.  In fact the only reason I even started this thread was all the front page topics gushing over the GH5 and Andrew saying how Canon needs to get on the ball.  Canon is still #1 in the camera world, has excellent stills cameras and wonderful video AF - there's a reason you see them all over all pro sports venues.  Canon could release a camera with all the tech they have now and sell a billion of them - IE 80d body with a FF sensor, the EVF from the C300/C100 II, 305 M/bit codec, 4k60 and 1080p120.  You also know Canon sure as hell could make fast STM primes - their bread and butter are with stills photogs though who want the much faster USM focusing.

So you started this thread simply because you didn't like seeing Andrew "gush" over a camera he's waited for, received, has in hand, and realized he likes? It's a good thing Andrew's 'gushing' didn't start to ramp up until after he received it, and had some time to really check out.  Maybe it's because you're taking offense to his opinion on Canon's current status in the industry? I mean, it's his opinion... and I'd kinda expect Andrew to post his excitement, dislike, opinions for any camera/camera manufacturer he chooses... especially on the front page of a site he created. Protesting personal opinion's on camera specs and camera selection... is that it?  I dunno - carry on

GH5 is 2K$ body, but if the SB is added, and some decent glass, it comes to 3,5-4K$. For that money one can buy BM Ursa mini (or, to double the sum, a new Pro).

It's a safe assumption that most who have owned either a GH4, or BMPCC would already own either Glass or SB that could also be used with the GH5. Also, selling used .64 SB's, and used glass can offset the cost favorably, if youre in the market for a GH5. It's all about what you want, and most importantly what you need.

  10. I have used the sigma art lenses with many different cameras, and while I love them, I'm going a different direction with my GH5.

I'm ditching the SB, and sticking with native glass, mostly because, the GX85, and the 42.5 f1.2 ruined me. The quality surprised me, and I loved the combo. I'm keeping the size/weight as minimal as I can, and wanting to stick with the simplicity of shooting without adapters.

For me it will be my Olympus 25mm Pro, and Panasonic Leica 42.5mm F1.2. Ive sold my Panny 15mm will be getting the 12mm. May even pick up the Oly 12-100 f4 for a all around.

Saw that footage weeks ago - it looks like it has been stolen, borrowed, doctored, changed.

Just check the guy's YouTube description for that video. Anybody doing that is just looking for short term views. Utterly ridiculous.

Yes, the youtube click bait vultures are all over the place.

That is Martin Wallgren's video. He uploaded that to Vimeo a little over 3 weeks ago, he also had another GH5 video titled ( Winters Grip ) that was linked here a week or so ago. Who ever it was that re-posted Martins video used every GH5 tag one could think of for a stolen video.

I guess people have decided to start stealing content to get views.
