That is the same as saying H.264 wasn't designed as an acquisition format, yet now it's the basis for Sony XAVC and Canon XF codecs.
As long as H.265 has the hardware encoder / decoder chips to support it there's no reason why it can't be an acquisition format and an edit-ready codec.

HEVC is like double the current compression in terms of the efficiency, so 120Mbps will be equal to 240Mbps in H.264

4K uncompressed RAW to plain old CF card? Doubt it... and it would still be a horrific crop.
Magic Lantern peaked with the 5D Mark III and they have moved on now...
I don't expect them to take much interest in future Canon cameras now they involved in making their OWN camera hardware.

Hi all, FilmConvert here. We've just released a v2 of the NX1 camera profile which corrects some of the color issues you may have experienced. Download from www.filmconvert.com/download/camera-profile

I am keen for any other info and still have to check this forum :-) - still have to think how it would work with my Canon 50mm 1.4 and 135mm f2.
We should realize that NX1 will become almost fullframe (we still do not know exact crop factor but I think it is around x1.1) also in terms of noise levels - eg. what I know it will be like comparing 5DmkIII on ISO 1600 and NX1 on ISO 800 (there will be more light on sensor so you can use lower ISO with same aperture). So with fast lenses NX 1 should be on pair or better than FF cameras.
Another example - is same situation where you now have to you ISO 1600 you should be fine with ISO 800 (same example for ISO 3200/1600, etc.). Quite important also for video when you can hardly use ISO 3200.

Today I go in a shopping centre to try others Canon lenses. This is the short video. Today I stop the prototype and I star to build a pre-series NXL adapter.
 

I personally think what ever is happening is happening inside the HEVC encoder.

Honestly if you're a still shooter Samsung NX system is the wrong choice...
I think the nx1 is an astoundingly good stills camera with good lens. I shoot everything raw. The detail and the gradeability always amaze me.

I actually prefer using the Filmconvert 'default camera' profile over NX1 profile(s) as those indeed give too much red and too little saturation in the blues.

Here is a video I did today, graded with Filmconvert and shot on the RX100m4 & NX1:

I would rather him stick around with this profile than have him create a new profile under a different name.
I think it goes without saying he should be banned from posting in the gear for sale sub forum.
