I'm using eoshd's profile lately whenever I'm using a sony but I made an exception in this case because I was afraid it could lead to unforeseen issues with the blacklight. Shot with a 50mm lensbaby which turned out to be a great combo to add to the blacklight setup. Shot in 6 hours, ultra-low budget music video. It's a very simple concept but I hope you'll have a good time watching in it. Shot in Dominican Republic.

It's still one of the best 4K cameras out there today, period. A dial each for shutter, aperture and ISO? Well ain't love grand! An entire wedding day at 60p on on 64GB card? Cut off my legs and call me shorty! 4K for corporate? Startin to see pictures, ain't ya? Yeah, but you think your Sony/Panny/Canon has better color? No sir, sorry bushwhackas!
Maybe the now-jailed fella was responsible for the NX1's untimely demise. Or we go by my theory, which is the ugliest guy did it.

The importance of autofocus. I discounted it when I first made my mind up, but in hindsight I'd love some sort of usable AF. I hear the lowlight is still pretty good too + you have the added benefit of a full frame 4K mode with minimal rolling shooter, albeit slightly soft. I think the A7RII is a more complicated camera, but I think it might be worth it. Still, there's not much in it and you can't go wrong with either.

Thanks for taking the time to watch!

Cheers Juxx, I'd recommend the A7RII over the SII, in case your eyeballing becomes cash spending.

I really appreciate your time, thank you. It might not be beneficial for me to respond to each point and get defensive.. I'm a little stubborn, and I know it's a problem, so I'm sorry if any of this comes across as snotty (but hey I may not be real either, so doesn't matter). I'm just not really looking for ways to "improve" the film. Those notes could be an interesting new direction to take it; I just don't think it would be this film anymore at all. I generally agree with show-don't-tell, but I don't think the dialogue tells the story here, so they're speaking, but not telling. And yeah, my resources were limited, so I played both parts. I tried to distinguish them, but I'm okay with someone reading it as an internal thing

    SPOILERS if you haven't watched...
Its a whole bunch of close ups I can see this is the same person is that what was conveyed by the shoes off at the same time? Im not sure what the ring was trying to say but it meant something...or did it....
it feels like your flirting with the movie types like "The Waking Life" and "A scanner darkly" you have to show not tell... you were discussing universal things... I would raid all the stock footage I could and cut to it to show your point.... talking about major deaths you could cut to grainy news footage showing bodies...(dont have to be super graphic or it COULD)  when you speak of Hitler  you could cut to Clips of "Triumph of Will" when speaking of dumb people you could show 1984 clips of people just marching to work like drones in the style of  "koyaanisqatsi" type time lapses watching TV or 50's footage of an Idealized turkey dinner...
You talk about sex you could cut to people crying some Jerry springer type show or something... etc
you need more wide shots perhaps you could get a friend to sit there...  or you could shoot a plate from the perspective of the bed looking at you sitting in the chair the chair and shoot your back in the same perspective...
I still dont get the power strip with the light coming on....
I get the impression this is a person talking to himself in an inner dialogue....like he is deciding to go Kill? or is he just getting drunk??
Also all the stuff was in focus and I could hear it pretty well and the color looked like early morning to me.
I know saying this stuff is alot easier than doing it... I should a been a critic!
its alot easier to put paint on somebody else's  house than to plan dig a foundation and build your own!
I wish I could flow with ideas like this for my own shit. But just remember I am some nobody on a message board... and I may not even be real

Hey folks. Last year I travelled to Sri Lanka for four weeks, hopping about the place and pulling all kinds of strange poses in the name of having a totally not relaxing vacation. But it's what happens, I guess. I edited together all the footage I collected and I'd love to hear any kind of feedback you might have. In hindsight, I wish I'd collected more footage, but I hope that doesn't shine through too strongly.

Edit wise, I dabbled a little with the fast zooms that have become so commonplace in this genre over the past few years but wanted to restrain myself so to not go too overboard. The Watchtower of Turkey style isn't really my thing, as much as I appreciate it, but I wanted to steal a little of that energy films like this can generate.

Cam wise, I used my Sony A7SII, GFILM colour profile, Canon 24-105 and an old Zeiss Jena 35mm that I absolutely love. No rigs, no stabiliser.

This was my first opportunity to get out of the house and play with my C100 mkii since I got it - over a month ago. Just my luck that if I emerge from my house bearing a camera the sun always makes a run for it and the clouds start to shed their loads - so not a lot of time, or inspiration went into this. That said, I couldn't be happier with the camera - it's so easy to use that it just gets right out of the way so shooting feels more fluid than I've experienced before.
'Twas shot Canon log, with a tech LUT to Rec709 and an Eastman 100T emulation LUT, plus tweaks etc. Mainly the 55-250 STM lens.

I love my two NX1 (and NX500) and it works perfect.
NX1 is two years old, but it has best hardware under 2000$ until now.
If there's NX2 or high sensitivity version of NX1, it would be best filming camera.

President of Samsung Kun-hee Lee thinks camera business is very important. Even though it did not make money. But he is unconscious.
And he's son vice-chairman Jae-yong Lee thinks camera is just a toy. He sells everything for inherit.

Juxx989 reacted to Cinegain in Monitor Suggestions for BMPCC + NX-1 ??
Agreed. 7" is more like a set monitor for the director or something. I feel like 5" really is a more suitable size to be mounting it on a camera or rig. SmallHD makes some pretty sexy monitors. But they're way too premo. For that kind of money you're almost thinking Videodevices PIX-E5(H) which is like the best monitor/recorder-combo imaginable. Blackmagic has given the Video Assist some proper upgrades through firmware, but of course it still doesn't take 4K over HDMI. If you're looking for a monitor only, the Lilliput Q5 has some very awesome features, but like the VA lacks 4K support (luckily cameras like the GH4 have a selectable 1080p monitor output whilst recording in 4K). The Q5 as well is availlable as Neway model, there it's the CK550S. What does indeed take 4K is the mentioned Neway monitor CT500HO, which indeed basically is the Ikan DH5e. If you're looking for smaller, consider the Ikan VL35 which is 3.5" and takes 4K. I think the last proper mention goes to FeelWorld who have the FeelWorld G55, similar to the Lilliput/Neway, but to me seems a little crappier made. Another Chinese company seems to be the pretty unknown SWIT, but they're at their pricepoint there's better alternatives. Same for the Korean BON. But yeah, I think that about covers the sub 7"-range. Maybe the Sony CLM-FHD5 if you shoot on Sony cams a lot. Unfortunately a hell of a lot more restrictive than 7" that's just bombarded with all sorts of options. Wish Aputure would make some good value sub 7" monitors, they've been killing it so far, would've been awesome if the '5' in 'VS-5' would've meant '5 inch'. Some more recorder combos would be welcome a well... a 5" 4K recording or to 1080p downsampling BMD Video Assist, Convergent Design Odyssey, Atomos (update to the Ninja Blade?!), or something would be welcome. Of course it would be appreciated to stay south of $1k.
If you're just shooting 1080p and want one of the cheapest solutions, maybe go for a Viltrox DC-50.

I think Cinema5D already figured out which lens to get for their ANUS... a big black one. Must be in its erect state, because supposedly it's only 24mm.

"Neway's are usually known as rebranded Ikan's. There is a touch screen 5" one that interests me most, it is the same as the 5" Ikan, a bit cheaper, and accepts 4K", just wrote that on the other "Cheap 7" monitors" thread, maybe it is exactly the same as you ask.
I do find the 7" too much for my needs.
