It's not a real speedbooster but some chinese crap, the first copy that came out that had bad coatings and gives a blue point in the center when shooting against the sun. The only way to have a good speedbooster on the eos m is to modify a e mount speedbooster and combine it with a ef-efm adapter, this will give you full ef compatibility. They made some of those hacks in Korea, not shure if they still do it.

Yeah same here. I did not even know there was a self diagnostic program. Gonna check that out tonight ^^.
For now I am fine with the small riser. Need to check if mounting and demounting is fast enough, otherwise I might order a different baseplate. But is going to be troublesome anyhow as it will never be a standard plate, and I will need to swap it constantly with a tripod plate.
Gonna buy a power cable to feed the camera from the ronin s probably though, as I cannot access the battery department of the camera + the ronin will deliver more power then a single battery of the pocket 4K.

@zerocool22 well I think I’ve told you that your wolf Japan video is one of the videos that sold me on ML Raw. And although I’d love some 4K Raw, I’m more interested in Raw with DPAF and 1080p at 60p. How do you like the P4K?
For now I’m fine with the 5D3, I may try the experimental build and see if I can get 2.5K out of her. Between that and the eos-m, my boredom should be cured while I get some writing done for my projects.
I was considering looking for a used 5D4 to help with the testing but I know very little about coding and running scripts, so I’m afraid I’d efff something up and cause more problems than good.
Let us know how it goes. My first attempts with ML on the eos-m, a few years ago, were maddening. No matter what I did, I couldn’t get rid of the pink dots but I hear that isn’t an issue anymore.

    Hello guys,
I just unpacked my dji ronin S, and I balanced my blackmagic pocket 4K on it. But I am having problems at keeping the camera level, If I try to lower the camera to the front, the camera with it lens first will point at the floor instead of leveling. Also when I tilt the camera backwards the camera moves up aiming at the ceiling. I want the dji ronin s to keep my camera level, and only when I crank it at +35% I want it to move up or down.  What am I doing wrong. (never had this with my DJI ronin, it was automatically leveling the camera)
For example I have seen guys moving their crane 5cm close to the ground and the camera was level. When I move my dji ronin S close to the floor, the camera is shooting into the floor and not straight ahead.
OK never mind I just found out about the trigger button ? (So leveling is ok)
    What are the best settings?

    Thanks!

Yes I hope that the 5D IV magic lantern gets here fast before I buy even more camera's: D I just bought the pocket 4K as well. But would replace it with the 5D IV instantly when magic lantern is working. Too bad the following of magic lantern has slimmed down greatly, and there are not many testers out there now. Buying a 5D IV without knowing for sure magic lantern is going to run on it is too much of a gamble for me. (already own ump, 6D, and pocket 4K atm, and I can probably replace them all by a 5D IV if magic lantern works)

I put together a Interview Lighting kit that fits all into a backpack including 3 light stands, batteries, chargers and umbrellas. Got to test it out Saturday night and its perfect for interviews when traveling and I believe everything should be safe to carry on a plane. The new Aputure Amaran AL-F7 on camera LED light' have a very good energy efficiency when set at 55k color temperature and along with the GH5S and A7S Mk ii low light capabilities got me thinking about making a very useful scaled down lighting kit for travel.
I am using 4x Aputure Amaran AL-F7 LEDs with batteries. Each NP970 battery is getting little over 2.5hrs on a full charge. I have 10 in the kit giving me at least 5hrs of battery life plus 2 extra when running all 4 lights at 100%.
In the images below I have some screen grabs from the interview I did last Saturday. I got with my GH5S with the Metabones Speed Booster F2 at ISO 400 with V-Log. The close up shot was with the A7S MK II at ISO 2000 with F2.8 while being 1 stop over exposed for SLog.
I did a lot of looking around and for diffusing the key and fill and the best thing for being fast and compact enough to fit with in the backpack were Westcott Collapsible umbrella.
So even though I own a lot of lighting and grip gear I can find myself using this very often. Air Travel would be a big one. Cramped spaces like offices or small living rooms for interviews. But also when I do documentaries sometimes the subject being interviewed can be intimated by lots of lighting and grip gear. This would give me the freedom to make the subject feel comfortable.
The kit with everything in the list below was $1050.
Let me know what you think, if you have any questions or suggestions for improvements.

The EOS-M is the camera that just keeps on giving. It was my first foray into ML Raw and I failed miserably with it. Soon after I tried my hand with the 50D and thought hmm. With the 5D3, I am a full convert and won’t even think of buying another camera until I see what happens with the 5D4 developments.
However, somewhere in the back of my closet, I still have my EOS-M, a few batteries and a slew of SD cards just waiting to be used. This could be a fun way to cure some Mid-Winter Blues. I look forward to your update, Andrew.
On another note, I almost bought your 5D Mark III 3.5K Raw guide a couple of hours ago, but I don’t know if I can go without a clean LiveView. Has there been any updates on that front?

Well now we know magic lantern does not brick the camera. So now def the time users can step up and test.
    - [extremely easy] find out whether photo capture works (this didn't work from FIR; just try the intervalometer sample code)
    - [extremely easy] play around with FPS and resolution overriding registers; document what works and what not
    - [easy, important] update the codebase to 1.1.2 (easy coding tutorial following task, still open, can be debugged in QEMU)
    - [easy] log various things in Canon firmware (such as photo capture, entering LiveView); the digic6-dumper branch has logging enabled by default.
    - [moderate, important] figure out how to print things on the screen (look up 5DS experiments, posts from Ant123 and read the CHDK threads on this topic)
    - [moderate?] fix the emulator to run these things properly
    - [moderate?] port io_trace to ARMv7 (can be debugged in QEMU)
    - [moderate] try to understand the communication between the two cores (main and AE)
    - [hard] understand the Omar secondary core (it appears to handle the image capture pipeline)

I already have a Ursa mini pro, and yes on paying jobs where the client is on set, I would probably take the UMP. But for my own shortfilms, I def would use the 5D IV RAW, I loved the 5D III RAW, only thing I missed on that camera was 60fps 1080p and also the dynamic range sucked. Depending if they can indeed remove the crop, but pretty sure they can as they are just dumping the RAW readout files onto the cards. (rolling shutter not sure, I guess it will be still the same)

I will blow everything below 10k out of the water when it works. A Full frame RAW shooter that does 13.6 EV stops of DR. The mavo LF is the nearest camera to it but that one is 12K body only. (well 4K 60fps will not be possible I guess, but I am happy with just 1080p 60fps but 24/25fps is still the goto framerate)
