I bet you are having tons of fun with your footage. I still got 4 hours of Bmpcc clips from this summer to go through. It's an honest low light camera, giving you what the eye can see btw.

It's a pity they never made a 3CCD camcorder in the DVX/HPX body with true full HD resolution. The Pixel Shift tech on the Hpx170/150 and HVX200 gives an impression of some texture related oddities as far as i can tell from the footage, which is available online. DVX100 Andromeda sports some beautiful 720p on the other hand. Would be so cool if the two masterminds behind it would make the tech transparent, so people could pimp their DVX diy into andromeda prowess.

It seems I was wrong and Inland Empire was not shot with a DVX100 but with a PD150. @Al Dolega I've been thinking about the HPX170 as a valid alternative for the mysterious and ultra rare DVX100 Andromeda. With 3 CCDs, 720p, 8bit 422, 100mbit to P2 cards, what's not to like. But first I gotta get rid of some of my stuff, cupboards clearout. 🙂

I love the look of my LX10 in 4k at f2.8 and a 2/3" gate, giving an equivalent Dof of F8 in S35. Welcome to the camp:)

I can relate to that. My best videos have been with less. I´ve seen people on the web shoot better stuff with an EX1 than with a Sony A7S3 on youtube (Phil Bloom fi:)

A 1080 Ti is already giving 25% performance increase standing only 10% below a 2080. Having 11GB Ram doesn't hurt neither, which are 3GB well above the recommended 8GB minimum for 4K video. So either a 1080Ti on the very cheap, a much newer 3070 or a huge boost with a RTX3080 or 4070 would be my recommendations.

You are really someone!😂 @MrSMWAnd I mean it in a good way only. You really give good reasons for pride of ownership when it comes to the S1H. I really marvel over mine. Love the built, ergos, look. When it was was used as a BCam with an Amira, it kinda seemed people were snobbish towards it but I was wrong. It is of course no Alev3 beast but a rock solid cinema BCam or even ACam good enogh for a Cannes nomination, rock solid. S9 with hotshoe, EVF and mechanical shutter would tempt me though. I am happy that I can resist rather effortlessly due to the lack of these. But it is really close for me to be the perfect pocket camera. Oh, no true F2.8 AF pancakes nor any besides the 28mm F8 is still a bummer of course.

As long as one puts some time into grading, this is not only super fun but also a little pocket cinema camera, taking beautiful images.

The new raw like 4k looks interesting. So far i like the Z6iii launch film about the longboarder the best, with great motion and fantastic color. DR might be one stop less, but latitude might still be a winner. For video the Z6iii seems the one to beat, for hybrid use it's the Z8 obviously. Canon R5 shooters will enjoy the release of the R5II, I am sure. If the image is as beautiful as from the C500 MKII, it will be a compelling choice for many pros with a passion for a big screen quality image. IF.

I would not want to get filmed by a phone and fed into a data munching cloud or phone os. I wouldn´t mind to get filmed by some GH2 afficiandos though. If with a Voigt 17/25mm, anytime, handsdown. And after that some nice nerdy lens talk with my peer.:)

I´ve been using my BMPCC again the last couple days. Yesterday I could hardly see anything when I was filming outside under the bright summer sun. But I still managed to grab some beautiful shots. It would be my dream pocket camera with good battery life and screen. That and with 2.5K 60p plus full Hdmi and it would be my dream cinema camera perse. The image quality is just so much fun to work with and so is the challenge of non nonsense no ibis operation. Make it a 3K camera. 3K sounds cool and makes it great to be distinguished from the ordinary 4K crowd. From my experience the camera does not only shut off because off an empty battery but also due to overheating under even mild conditions. A Fairchild Pocket 3K with 60p, good battery life and screen, how cool would that be! What a cool name, Fairchild 3K! 🙂 In my bag this weekend are my Bmpcc with a 25mm and my Panny LX15. I would add the 14mm plus Vari ND.

This is how it felt for me with the seemingly to be onetaker "Birdman". Look at me, I´m the D. O. P.! It worked- the dop got an Oscar for his work. 🙂 I liked the film but no second watch planned. Though now, that you have written about the unconsciously visible camera I might feel unconsciously interested to look for it and revise the film again.:)

I can perfectly relate. GX800 should be perfect. GX85 quality in an even smaller body if I got that right from your review. Coupled with the small and mighty 17mm 1.8, dream combo I would guess. I love the iq from my GX85 both for photo RAW and video 4K in combination with Resolve. Like we all know, a 10bit GX with HLG would be a smash. Your GX is still a hit. I would bring a third lens for the extra lens nerdy fun, a tiny Canon FD 100mm F2.8, a few grams of extra weight but tons of extra fun as well. You could leave your VX981 at home too.:)

Did you get to edit these into a video? @BTM_Pix Would love to see some motion, but I am also happy with the sneak peak and stills, of course.:) I have been satisfied with the color science and texture rendering of the G6 and G7 in HD. It was a bit tricky to find the secret sauce for grading the G6, which lied in taming the oversaturated tones and a bit of shifting some hues. I imagine the FZ to be a great performer in the color department with some beautiful HD due to its readout mode, downsampling and high bitrates. The LX15 has the same sensor and some beautiful color after grading but only low bit rates in HD. Here is another piece by Harrison Kraft who inspired me to honour my LX15 and made me to really appreciate this camera and to realize what it is capable of.

The FZ also offers downsampled HD besides its cropped 4K. HD resolution is perfect like on the GH5, also offering high bitrates of 100 mbps inter and 200 mbps intra codecs for HD up to 60p. @BTM_Pix Also, no dubious software "helpers", unlike the ipohne. But unlike me and most of us, you know that by first hand.:)

That´s pretty much what I stated.🙂 @Emanuel Footage so far does not represent what the camera and sensor should quiet possibly be able capable off. But then it does not make sense for myself to study footage which does not give any hints to draw conclusions from regarding image quality. If I would, I´d had to neglect this camera´s image quality completely by what I´ve been coming across so far. But I´ve seen pretty nice 10bit HLG / Log footage in their drones. So I expect the Pocket not to disappoint in the image department with its 1" sensor. If wrong, that would be surprising and, well, kinda disappointing. But no big deal. Disappointment would be a strong word. Not met assumptions would be the better way to put it.

Kinda. I think the GH4 ranges above GH3 when it comes to quality output. I can recall about two videos from GH3 users which I found to be compelling back then, GH2 and GH4 dozens. Phillip Bloom has some decent shots with the DJI Pocket 3. I am sure it has a great image under sufficient light.

I have not even seen one video with the DJI that looked close to anything I would consider good. Knowing that DJI devices are capable of a nice and workable image for different delivery goals, this is a testament to the lack of will or ability of the videomakers. The Gimbal looks like it does what it promises to do the part. It is used by aspiring gimbal world champions rather than admirers of cinematography among the youtube crowd. I can feel quite astonished by some videos done with an old GH1, but this thing has looked gruesome to me regarding colors, not event to speak about the meaningless and aimless gimble schlimmble. DJI, 10bit, S16 sensor, gimble, this thing delivers on paper and it should in real world, considering DJIs achievements with their drones and action cams. But youtube fails to deliver that. Bad testimonies for an interesting special use or vlog camera.
