Really a different beast ... light easy to use but will take a bit of time to get used to the flip out screen ... find
it a little disorienting with respect to vertical alignment where walls noticeable if it is not flush with the camera back.
I think that the 4K image is sharp enough when on tripod ... the 1080 with DPAF makes me miss that on this camera in
4K ... and the AF with the Sigma is a bit marginal in 4K ... perfect in 1080. Peaking is great and with the mic input I can add
another Nanolockit and sync both the 5D4 and the M50 to my SD recorder. So this camera will cover my travel light needs,
gives me video with Leica M lenses and EF lenses, and will allow for another angle of capture along side of the 5D4.
Colors seem very close ... but I would like a profile that mimics the Canon Log as closely as possible so that workflow looks
consistent. I may play with my Video Color Checker Passport(?) to see if I can minimize differences in the two.
It is interesting to look at file sizes as it uses a different codec from the 5D4 ... much smaller and not as chopped up ... 5D4 has a
4Gb limit to file which on that camera is 2 minutes in 4K.
I was pleased to find that Tethertools has a battery insert for the camera so my large battery banks and AC for the 5D4 will work on
    this also.
Looking at the RAW files ... it has enough resolution and DR for almost any of my needs at this point. Still use the 5D4 for macro as
HeliconFocus will allow automated focus stacks which are wonderful ... set near and far focus points and it drives the camera through
auto stacking ... then in post will align and paint the layers for the stacks.
I think the big drawback of the EOS M is native lenses ... most think the 22 F2 is the only adequate one at the present time. Without the Canon
EOS - EF M adapter I probably would not have picked up the camera.
I will be trying the 24-105 and 16-35 today to assess the IS functions. And I hope that the AF in 4K is a bit better. Not so much with the 40 Pancake.

It is 4K ... saved as ProResLT and uploaded UHD ... but I was only able to see the 4K once on Vimeo ... all other times it
shows as 1080 at best but should be 4K on their site.

    Hey Dave,
    This one is for you.
Thanks for the heads up on the M50 ... looks to be a decent B Cam. Found that the Wooden Camera Cage does allow for the external power input and HDMI
is accessible ... might be a workaround ... as putting it on the M50 and removing it for the battery would be a major pain.

The 8000s are indeed only splash proof as they incorporate a fan for settings at 6300Lumen and higher. 5000, 2000, and 1000 are
waterproof. Light and motion started making dive lights so if they say 100 meters then I would believe them. They do have a specific
dive model of the light ... back end looks exactly like a Stella Pro.
Here is a review of their build quality:

Doubt that these would light a large room ... more for interviews and eng closer up ... or lighting a part of a room.

This youtube video is on the 555 Kit ... three of the older 5000s:

You will find other stella pro information clustered around this video.

BH still lists the older 5000K Head light, nonRF here:
    https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1181850-REG/light_motion_850_0335_a_stella_5000_led_light.html
    5000K 90 CRI 93 TLCI

and the new 5600 replacement head here :

    5600K 92 CRI 93 TLCI

There description of the 5000K RF Action Kit with the new head shows older specs similar to the original 5000K light but
this is a link to the Light and Motion listing:
    https://www.lightandmotion.com/choose-your-light/stella-pro/stella-pro-5000-rf
    5600K 92 CRI 93 TLCI

Reviews of the older lights showed a green spike ... but minor and easily corrected with a custom white balance. Ideally ...
all of their lights should have a similar color profile show correction for them would be consistent.

Definitely a niche product ... but works for me as it covers small video scenes and all of my still photo needs.

I added a couple of the Stella Pro 8000 and will add a Stella Pro 5000 as they allow for Profoto Speedrings and Modifiers. Gorgeous light,
drop proof and you can dive with them.
Couple of stills to illustrate the light.

Pricey but on the order of a Profoto or Broncolor flash .... these were through the umbrella at 4000 lumen.

call me a canon fanboy but i'm with @docmoore on the 5D IV.. it is a fantastic camera. any pro stills shooter who's used a 5D will know why. the ability to combine single point back button focus and trigger continuous servo focus via front DOF command button is genius. none of my nikons or MILCs can do that. The mark IV takes the 5D to a new level with a bunch of great add-ons. the touchscreen is extremely responsive (like what you'd expect in 201X) and allows full control of the menus, gestures, and silent lens/shooting commands. it's got C-Log & dual pixel AF (actually an even better implementation than on C200). you can extract an 8MP still in-cam from 4K footage. Timelapse etc.. these are all cool features imo.
the 1.7x crop, annoying..sure. it is still less crop than a GH5 and if you're shooting in 1080p you're getting FF. every camera has its caveats.
the MJPEG codec. yeah it's a huge bitrate. but that also means very little compression and it's also 422 intraframe. it essentially gives you the same IQ as the 1DC which everyone here gushes over.
in the end, yes of course Canon segment the hell out of their cameras. they're also a little slow in product cycle/development. but as stated by the execs, they are very careful to ensure their cameras run stable (no overheating, bugs etc). and that's how they get the olympics and other events where camera failure just isn't an option..

Congratulations on the new new camera ... it was one of my favorite digital cameras ... bought mine when the were 37K ... actually traded out of some 8 bodies and 15 lenses for a H2D then moved to the H3D II 39. Love the files out of camera.
    Three suggestions ...
Phocus does a better job with color clarity highlight recovery than any other workflow. Output from it to LR to optimize your conversions.
There is a way to "refresh" the batteries ... they tend to hold less of a charge over time and you can reset them ... do a search for this.
In the menu you can change the time of shutter actuation from the mirror up ... lengthening it a bit may afford you with sharper images when handholding the camera.
Oh ... one more ... the back can be used on a tech camera if you power the back with the firewire cable from a battery and an external cheap FW800 hub. Used mine to great effect on an Alpa TC.
In time you may want to look at the HC 50 version II and the HC 100 ... both stellar lenses.
My first Hasselblad was in 1984 ... have had too many to number ... recently returned to the fold with the X1D 4116. Love the CCD but DR and higher ISO almost make up for using CMOS.
For those who are not familiar with the H3D ... one of the easiest cameras to clean the sensor as it is flush with the outside of the back. Couple of swabs and you are done ... no need to use a loop to see deep inside the camera and attempt to stay off the wall of the deep well.
Again ... no video but what wonderful files ...

So the usual rules of not judging somebody by their religion doesn't apply to scientologists.

I would call it a non issue I guess. Cant see a scenario where it would be any major problem.
Matching cameras isn't that much work if its important and no work for when it doesn't matter.

But if I just had to have a camera cheaper than a A7sii that matched it perfectly without effort (and I for some reason could just use a 5Dmiii or XC10) I would just buy a used $1500 C100 and be done with it.

docmoore got a reaction from mercer in Gh5 or 5d mk iv?
I must say that so much of this discussion is based on specs for the camera and it seems not a lot of real experience with the cameras in question ....
I recently moved from a Canon 7D ML RAW to a 5D3 ... but the files were off WB wise ... convinced that the GH5 was the real deal but the files were a bit less compelling ... returned it for a 5DMkIV in spite of all the expert advice on this forum.
For me .... 1.7 crop is an advantage ... never shoot that wide for video ... too boring .... and for landscapes and wildlife that I film it helps to have a bit of a crop. Rolling shutter ... well at my age I do not whip my hair nor my cameras .... not chasing fast moving cars or trains. And the codec is a non-issue for me. CF and SD card prices have plummeted ... should I mention the $4K in RED proprietary SSD cards I had for my EPIC?
Color if not within the ballpark is hard to control ... most other issues have fairly easy work arounds. And Canon color is so good ... no matter what level you enter the product line.
DPAF almost instant magnification in LV wonderful build quality easy to view exposure preview .... in spite of the spec deficits if you know how to use a camera it works and works well. The 4K is consistent color correct and motion seems to be very good.
GH5 has IBIS and dual IS ... the only place where the 5DMkIV is deficient. But with a decent gimbal and fluid video head ... no contest. Big sensor even with a crop has great high ISO ... noise is a non-issue if light is worth capturing.
So here is a bit of a weird video ... vertical capture ... on a monopod as the garden does not allow tripods. Light was all over the place as cloud cover broke and reformed. No plot ... not cinematic ... just a look at motion and color. Same for the second ... just a look at different color and perspective.
Password is 5D4 for both ... and I will delete these in a day.

@Karl Hungus I would not use a q-tip from just the force concentration to a small point alone. You want to spread any downward force over the largest area possible to avoid damaging the optics. Second, q-tips aren't rigorously controlled in manufacturing for cleaning expensive optics.
Something like this for those who want to be super careful (individually sealed): https://www.amazon.com/PEC-PAD-Lint-Free-Wipes-100per/dp/B0001M6K24/, https://www.amazon.com/Optical-Lens-Cleaner-Spray-Bottle/dp/B0002HMRF2/ (some folks reported ROR better than Eclipse: https://www.amazon.com/Photographic-Solutions-Eclipse-Cleaning-Solution/dp/B004WBR8C6/).
If you apply the microfiber over the largest area with the least downward force, that will minimize the chance of any damage (really just want to move laterally with almost no downward force at all to remove the cleaning fluid). The truly best solution would be if the solution could completely remove everything then use compressed air to dry and blow away accumulate (basically touch free cleaning).
