Didn't Sony also state the processor in the A7's is only capable of 8-bit? I'll wait for more concrete proof before rushing out to get an A7s. 

Even if tvey implemented a noise free 3200, thats still just another stop. Unless youre already at f1.4, get a stop in aperture.
Off topic, Am I the only one wanting lower iso. Would love a clean iso 50 or 25 in log.

I got my A7 last week and i love it, not the sharpest 1080p but the Dynamic range with portrait -3-3-3 its very good. Get Film convert and you have a lovely image.

Definitely a steal for $190.
Very distinct look wide open. Dreamy & circular . I doubt it is what you are after but you might still like it as a special effects lens.
Otherwise we are plenty of people that can take it of your hands in this forum.

I would think so but maybe someone else can confirm.

I'm on the mailing list of a site called Desktop Documentaries and recently received an email recommending a documentary kit for $1000. Uh oh! It included a Canon T5i and an H4n as THE basics for a cheap large sensor video camera package.
So with as much tact as I could muster, I replied and informed the site owner I didn't think it was very fair to be recommending this particular set of items in 2015 to people who don't know any better (the site is mainly aimed at filmmaking begginers). I expected to receive either a dismissive reply or at best be ignored.
What actually happened was I got a reply from Faith (the site owner) offering to pay me to write a better-informed article! So I did.

Also, if you want to grade a video exactly like Lightroom (for the most part, with the ACR control panel):
Use a recent version of Photoshop.  Open a video file.  Right click on said video, and select "Convert to smart object".
Then you will see the Raw filter available from the filter menu.

Quick 4 step process (obviously once graded you hit "File / Export video".  The rendering process isn't too quick, but I've had good results.

1080p at 120fps is a very notable upgrade too, before it was 720p

So I will use my focus peaking on the D810 to focus…..what no focus peaking?  Ok I will magnify the image to focus…..Nope?  OK so I will shoot at waist level to not attract attention to my filming……I can't?   OK well at least I can use my Canon 50mm 1.2 on my D810 and some of my other legacy glass…..No again?    Yep, that D810 is looking like a cracking competitive option to the Sony,   OK OK  I will at least have IS on all my lenses….Nope?   4k?….Nope…hmmmm,   Log options?    That D810 is looking like the obvious option  :-)

Almost! I wanted something for 4K that was a little bit more like the 5" Ninja Blade.
But then again... there's the PIX-E5(H) which right now might just be the capturing monitor of the hour. Would've been nice to see these other companies (Atomos, Convergent Design and Blackmagic) following up on their lead though.
