I would be so awesome if knefinity did something like the bmpcc, like a small compact camera sized camera with a built in screen and the kineraw colour and codec.

would not recommend at all for vlogging, i have a a7 and the video auto focus is terrible, the screen cant go selfie mode and if you are in the wifi mirror mode to your smartphone you can only take pictures. No video.

Speaking of the man... he just touched on that and uploaded this  :
It's interesting, we all thought the 80D was going to be the vlogger's dream, now it seems a partial nightmare.

I currently use a Glidecam HD1000 with a GH4 + Olympus 12-40mm. In answer to your question, OP, I usually settle on a drop time of 2.5 seconds (timing it with phone not my fast voice =)). I like the solidarity of 2 seconds but like you say it's much harder to control up and down movements. However I dislike the more seesawing action of a 3 second balance when doing normal moves so halfway works for me.
I personally don't see myself getting a MoVi etc. anytime soon. My work currently calls for small, reliable gear and the Glidecam fits the bill. It takes some patience to get a good balance but once it's in it's a rocky steady piece of gear and delivers some of my favourite shots.

i just think that last year and the year before were incredibly highly packed and this is more like it used to be, but i also expect fotokina to be awesome.

Matt says they are seriously considering 10 bit 4-2-2 Internal. That would be Huge. And maybe moving to Faster Cards too.

Would be interesting to see (or hear...) if the preamps are really capable. Saying that it´s just better than "most of DSLR preamps" is not very promising, though...

Yup, 13 is still mind blowingly good imo.
Of course I would like as much as possible but 12 is very good and 13 is beyond good enough.

Nothing new of note for us, aside from the FS5 firmware update.
Going to be a very boring pro-broadcast industry orientated show this year I think, with the prosumer and consumer market shrinking back.

The no battery thing is huge for me too, its a very reliable and failure proof device! Thanks for the video link btw.

This is great comparison. I am using glidecam almost every day (couple years now) - the best tool in my toolbag I can imitate tripod, dolly, slider, jib, if i had to take just one thing with me beside the camera i would take the glidecam. No firmwares, no batteries, easy to handle, can take it as carry on baggage, can take it to the mountains for a hike, can use it in the rain (DGS version with improved gimbal), most people doesnt pay attention to it, it is quite stealthy, can go through the crowd with it. It requires a lot of training but it pays of.

I am exactly wondering the same thing. I am considering switching to a gimbal, but I just want to mount my camera and go. I don't want to deal with any headaches. I am using the flycam nano as well and it still works really well for me. Any huge advantages with the gimbal system over a flycam?

BTW, how do you figure 1000 adapters. Just put an EF on there and leave it. Voila you have an EF camera.
But if its an EF bolted to the camera it just means less lenses to choose from.

You dont even need adapters. Plenty of m4/3 cover s35 (all rokkinon for example) and there are plenty of nice m4/3 lenses. Adapters and speedboosters is just another option/tool.
Sony have understod it. They use a short flange for s35 and FF. And it seems popular.
But since Sony doesnt allow other companys to use the E-Mount, MFT on s35 remains the best, most versitile and least painful lens/sensor combo imo.
