Reduser still going on about how if Red cameras are just a pile of commodity parts then why don’t more companies do it which if they ignored their doublethink they would realize other companies are and that this isn’t at all the argument jinni is making. The mental gymnastics is 10/10.

My gripe is the whole mentality of:
 
1)Company/person did great things for the industry!
2)Product just works and works great!
 
....therefore, they get a free pass to do whatever they want because they earned that privilege.

I think for $199 to get any kind of quality audio out of a wireless kit is going to be your base level of expectations. 

And Rode is not a stamp of approval for quality, as they've made some solid low budget projects but they can certainly be a bit hit or miss with sometimes cost savings really showing. 
 Just do it! Be polite and professional about it, and explain how it is for her benefit to fully capture all the emotion of her special day.

I am a pro sound man of 20 years and I didn't call anyone stupid. 200€ in sound is the lowest of the low and the expectations are low too.
I own 5 Samyang lenses for my lesser projects, but when we shoot better ones we rent. I do not expect my Samyangs to be Cooke quality and I do not complain that they aren't.

Generally I dislike changes in aspect ratio. It makes me think of youtubers who go from vlog-style to some "cinematic montage", even if the Kraig Addams example posted by @kye is pretty cool.
Talking about narrative function - I watched the latest season of 13 Reasons Why (season 3) last week, and they frequently swap between two aspect ratios along with color changes (some scenes are even black and white). It is seemingly used to distinguish between timelines. Present day is represented by cool color and 2.22:1 aspect ratio while flashbacks are 1.77:1 and warm tones. 
The aspect ratio change bothered me to no end in the first couple of episodes, but I barely noticed it at the end of the series.

I don't mind it, but sometimes I think it looks a bit choppy, obviously it's a personal choice. 

I decided to do it in this video where I cut true anamorphic with Fisheye angles and the reception was mixed, some people didn't like it, but it got people talking. I'm un-decided really, but I think if you can make it flow it's cool. I like to see 8mm 4:3 chopped with crispy 16:9 35mm, but I think chopping from 2.35 to 4:3 is hard to make look fluid.

For me, the value of a GoPro is that it's small, robust, waterproof and "fire-and-forget". Modding it with a new mount removes all of those advantages. I guess it would still be the smallest camera with 4k60p at a high bitrate, but for most practical cases, a GH5 would make more sense. Then there is of course the entertainment aspect of doing camera mods.

Maybe a sticky thread, not really enough posts about Z-cam for an entire sub forum.

I use BM5 and the Powerextra NPF960 with DC out on top. The Portkeys BM5 comes with a short locking cord to plug it into the battery. To put in my bag I just fold the screen down flat (take the handle off if one is attached) and shut the bag. Couldn't be much simpler. Batteries last longer than my 256GB CFast2.0 card takes to fill.

Yes you can do 4K with ML. Yes the framing is impractical for any professional application. Yes they haven’t fixed this on the mark iii and probably never will. That camera doesn’t seem to get much development nowadays
