  1. Video above looks nice, doesn't strike me as being anamorphic though... Don't forget about the 7D for MLraw @Andrew Reid, I still like it the best for the image and I have a 5Diii now. Somehow I think the 7D has less fixed pattern noise.
  2. Not sure if it will be. For the price I'm not that fussed, I can't see a better option right now anyway.
  3. Remember there's actually no cheap version of the Ultra .64. Viltrox M2 is a good budget option if you are looking at the Ultra .71x.
  4. Don't forget the Zcam. It does 4K 120fps h.265 10bit 200Mbs. ?.
  5. That zeiss lens is almost too sharp, needs a pro-mist or something.
  6. Nice job! Skin tones are easy to get right on the E2 and although there may be some noise due to M43 sensor size, I don't feel like it's an issue or limiting my work at all. I also consider getting one of the newer models when they come out, but I'm wondering how much that would really add to my production level. The low light is actually surprisingly good on E2, but I guess we always want better .
  7. Looks pretty good as long as you're not looking at all from the Lefthand side.
  8. Looks like it was shot on Iphone. I'd agree, content above all else, but better and more equiped cameras have their time and place. Choose the right tool for the job/budget. Also an IphoneX isn't exactly what I'd regard as cheap.
  9. Zcam E2 is getting 4K wide 160fps mode in next firmware as well .
  10. The more I thought about that video I realised why he has a 100mm on. If you put something like a 70-200mm on you couldn't also have a 14mm on the same turret as it would be in the shot. Still pretty cool though, I like it.
  11. I've seen quite a few tests that show internal recording on the GH5 is better quality than anything done on an external recorder (except maybe 10it 60fps, which it can't do internal). Something to keep in mind. When I used GH5 as my primary camera I just transcoded the footage to Prores later.
  12. Yeah, ultimately time will tell. But the small amount of issues I've seen them have so far they've dealt well (and quickly) with. Most "issues" however have been user error, not issues at all. "A whole batch of Z CAM E2 have been working 7/24 under waterflawlessly for two months. All is well!" - Kinson Loo. I guess that's some good news haha.
  13. Yep the things you usually pay more for, DR, Ease of use, colours, internal recording, higher framerates, better build quality, constant firmware updates + smaller size for use on gimbals and in tight spaces. Another thing that no one seems to have cared to discuss yet is how Zcam are making small cameras with no vents that don't even get hot shooting 4K 120fps... meanwhile other brands overheat with lower frame rates in much bigger bodies.
  14. Well I'd like a camera with good DR, Bit Depth and Bitrate, but maybe that's just me. It's still possible they could upgrade it from what was said in the video.
  15. My thoughts as well, hardly a buying point IMO.
  16. But they will have a real life camera .
  17. The camera sounds fairly underwhelming from that video. "We have 8K, but nothing else".
  18. @mercer I think stopped down maybe you could match them ok, not wide open though. Maybe you could even them out a bit in camera with WB if you have to, just need to do a few tests I guess. I mean almost anything can go together if you really want.
  19. Also @mercer, I realise that, just that my conclusions were still very similar. I also had the 55mm 1.2 at one point which I'd agree was a touch better in some ways, still wasn't enough to warrant the price for me so I sold it and bought basically the rest of my nFD set with the change. Personally I like the idea of the 24mm f1.2 the best out of all the 1.2s if I were to have one. I have the 24mm f2 though which is a stellar performer even wide open on my MB XL, so I don't really see the cost Vs use ratio fitting my needs. I think it really depends on your needs and use, I'd argue that most people don't really make films at 1.2 to warrant their purchase though and I don't believe there's much of a difference between the 1.2s and the next step down. Sometimes the 1.2s have been pushed so far to optimise wide open shooting that the simpler designs actually look better IMO. Also @mercer I don't think FDs intercut that well with EF lenses mostly. They are something between a vintage and newer looking lens (nFDs in particular), if you were in a pinch you could match them, but I wouldn't set out with it in mind.
