I think there's room above the Pocket 4K for the same image quality in a better built body with more features. Seems like a no brainer to me. People love the image and the back-end monitoring on the Pocket but it's never going to have the depth of features of a GH5 for the price it is - they would have to up the price to make it more ambitious. Around $2500 would bring us all sorts of goodies. I also wish the form factor would be more along the lines of a GH5 as well with an EVF.

A poster on the BM and BMC forums has a useful sheet for different batteries based on user experiences reported in their threads.

BM have shot themselves in the foot a bit by not getting the power accessories in place when they shipped the camera.
The list their own battery for £35 and, whilst that is still a lot more than other 3rd party batteries, I think that would be by far the best way to go as at least you know you are using the same battery they design for and test with but I can't actually see it at any of their UK dealers. Similarly, it doesn't help that the official cable pack that would enable it be powered externally doesn't seem available anywhere either.

I did some test shots with the Sigma 18-35 and the Sigma 50-100 in combination with the viltrox on my P4K. As far as I can tell, the images look great. I have yet to cut it together and properly grade the shots, but they do look great for what I can tell.

The official Canon batteries are the way to go. They're the only ones that will show an accurate percentage and last longer than 45 minutes.

    Emotive Color Version 3
    Core LogC Details
    - Rewrote engine to work at 65x65x65, main files are now at eight times resolution (supporting files processed at that resolution)
    - Fine tuned multi-pass/smoothing technique, to achieve absolute smoothness of final files
    - Introduced Averaging (averaging two separate measurements/conversions of a light source)
    - Corrected LogC rolloff artifact introduced with Verde
    - Corrected far magenta-red artifact
    Emotive Color Component Details
    - Remade EC component to incorporate new Arri primaries  that were quietly revised this summer for Alexa LF release
(much deeper, more accurate red placement in relation to blue/green, and subtle hue shifts throughout)
    - Incorporated 'Sat Lock-Out", like hue lock out, that is fully accurate to saturation distribution between relative hues of Arri RGB primaries
(corrects excessive saturation of orange/yellow/green in highlights, and under-saturation of blue in shadows)
    - Significantly refined saturation model
    - Unified EC for both WBs (taking a que from Arri's single R709) [Tungsten has significantly more contrast, higher ideal exposure]
    - Smoother rolloff placement in EC component
    - Replaced Pop with Linear (no highlight shoulder, better alternative to Arri R709)

    - Remade all PREs with latest process (at 65, provided at 33) - much more accurate and smooth
    - Entirely new PDF (and supplemental waveforms)
    - Added Daylight Skintone SBS
    - Updated 'Always Already' with V3 (Download 'Original File' - *Avoid watching in Firefox)

you are right, the cameras you mention will mostly do the job, and they'll do it very well, but the P4k is cheaper if you go by body only prices - any extras you want to add is up to you.
Here's a few extra things that I'm excited about that the other cameras don't have:
    Built in audio options
    Timecode
    Fantastic low light performance
Flexibility - Big rig or handheld (make a blockbuster or blend in with the tourists and shoot without permission - I know this is also true for the other cameras, but it seems more accessible with the P4k with it's battery/power options)
    Uncluttered user experience
    Free Resolve
Braw will be unbelievable when it reaches the P4k

Would be interesting to see the pocket 4K in here since someone on this thread claims the OG pocket has better dynamic range. I forget who it was.

Sony will NOT give us anything like the X-T3. They will protect their FS lineup. And colors... colors... colors. They will not be the equal of the Fuji or Canon. Although, by all means Sony... prove me wrong and I will gladly add another α camera to my collection. Not holding my breath though.
Perhaps they can add some filters to match the film emulations that Fuji has? But maybe take it one step further... Instant Blockbuster, Micheal Bay Mode, Spielberg setting?

Just checked the settings... Yes sharpening was set to zero. Thought I had changed that to -4, but I guess it go changed back with all my fiddling about with various settings. I had a freak out moment when I first attached the MKX lens. I was unable to record any video. Turns out I had forgotten to turn back on internal recording ?Anyway, I am confident given the option to use the X-T3 vs the P4k, the former would be a solid choice. Add stills capability into the mix and you will never look back. Remember the Fuji is using a APSC/S35 sensor. This is today and has been for the past many years, the industry standard format for cinema. That a big component when trying to get that cinema look.
I'll go one better... so sure am I that this camera is the way forward, that I order a second body... that should arrive today? I also intend to add the MKX50-135. I held off on ordering it as I want to spend some time getting to know the MKX18-55 T2.9. I have not shot a whole lot of manual lenses in video. My plan is later to try out the SLR Magic Anamorphot 65, which was specifically designed to work with MKX lenses. But that may be dependent on seeing more footage from the adapter.
I don't like IBIS. At least not any implementation I have seen to date. My preferred method is to use a gimbal, slider, tripod or crane.

A quick play with the MKX18-55mm. Was just hand holding. This is all shot at 3200 ISO with -4 noise reduction in Eterna. Recorded internally.

Here is a test I made with the XT3. Kind of sloppy shooting. This was shot -4 sharpening
400mbps - Long GOP, 4K, -4 sharpening, -4 noise Reduction, Flog, eterna Lut, no grading, no ND filters, indoor shots were auto WB, handheld

    Info for video above...
Lenses: Voigtlander 17.5mm f/0.95 and Super Takumar 50mm f/1.4 with Black Promist 1/4
(Which explains the less clinical look then!!)
    Canon C200 Lenses: Sigma 18-35 f1.8, Canon 50mm f1.2 and Canon 85mm 1.2 with Black Promist 1/4
BMPCC Resolution and codec: 4K DCI, RAW 4:1, 24P and 60p
    Canon C200 Resolution: Canon RAWLIGHT 4K 60P 10bit
Remind me... Is C200 raw internal or external? I have forgotten LOL.

    Define better.
Weird color, yellow-brown casts, worse dynamic range, way more aliasing and moire problems, lots of noise, fixed noise pattern etc.

Well, some call it character, others call it flaws.

I loved the OG pocket. It had it’s own look. It was a pain in the ass to use for more than 20 min though, without rigging. The P4K is definitely a next gen in every way. Once they add B- Raw ???

The new pocket 4k blows the old one away in terms of dynamic range and color reproduction. Many shots online are just overexposed or lack proper grading.
Btw, your shot looks great. Idc about the slight highlight clipping on the left - since it should be compressed anyway.

Here's a take at your shot. Without any luts. Just a BM Pocket 4K color science to Rec709 CST at the very end after the grading.

I wonder how many here would call the RED Gemini with its basically perfect yet completely realistic reproduction a videoish looking camera.
Sensors are getting better. Both RED and BM deliver images without any visible processing with amazing color reproduction and stunning detail with a complete lack of noise - because why not.

I don't think it's a binary choice like that at all.
We have the Pocket, Micro, UMP and new P4k.
Always loved the look of the original Pocket. The Micro while a bit different is very similar and a bit better over all in noise, moire and detail
I can make the P4k look exactly like the pocket/Micro in a minute in post but I could never make the original Pocket look as good as the P4k.
The P4k is a totally next level camera and image.

It's 13 stops rated on both.
But the FPN and regular noise on the original pocket as well as color shifts are way too distracting to call it usable 13 stops at least.

Just did a very non scientific power bank test with the X-T3. I fully charged the battery inside the camera with the factory charger, and I wanted to see how much time it takes until 1 unit on the camera display's battery level indicator is lost when using 4K60 recording (and boost mode turned on) with a power bank attached:
Anker 20000 PD: 25 mins until heat warning, I decided to stop the test there, indicator still showed full battery
Asus ZenPower 10050 (no PD on this one, just a regular power bank): 17 mins
No power bank attached: 13 mins
It seems it's a good idea to get a power bank with PD support. Actually this is what Fuji recommends as well.

Thank you, the sample DNG already contains high cliping, left down in those lights, any manipulation with ISO will no longer help with this overexposure.
The dynamic range is definitely worse than the old pocket and, unfortunately, the colors, I have been doing a lot of adjusting DNG and ProRes from my old pocket for a long time so I know what it can do. that color noise in the shadows is unpleasant.
The colors are much worse than the old pocket! it helped me in that I definitely will not sell the old pocket ?  Thank you.
