Cinegain got a reaction from sanveer in Snoppa Vmate: 2 days to run under a 1/5th of a grand for h265 acquisition 4K60p@200Mbps bitrate & 240fps@1080p
A lot of the time in promotional clips the footage being displayed isn't even shot with the product advertised... and they show how you can use it to vlog... but I've yet to see anyone actually share any actual vlog footage, pointing it at themselves, which adds to my suspicion.

Cinegain reacted to Dustin in How is this funded? Mega rich YouTubers
Personally, I like Potato Jet. I think he has a funny personality, I like the way he puts his content together. I also like that he runs the gamut of everything from covering a 360 camera to buying a used ARRI. It personally makes for entertaining content on a subject I like.
Is he making his living in part by getting brand deals, partnerships? Absolutely! But I do think on the surface level looking in, as others have stated- he seems to be fairly transparent.
That said, if someone offers you a sneak peak at a big product to make a video review or let’s you keep it, even if no money is involved and you transparently state that, you are being used as a marketing arm for that company. Companies have taken to all the big youtubers so that on launch week, everyone suddenly has a review up. I think this goes both ways. It’s cool that we as consumers can get a look at said product, but it is consumerism. It is shoving paid promotion content at us. It also feeds a mentality that we need product xyz or everything we have is inferior.
When it comes down to it- I like his stuff. If you’re asking about affordability- his vlog channel stated he has at least another roommate (besides his gf) at his house. I don’t think he’s living that glamorously. He probably is in debt (topic for another convo) unless he’s just a brand/product mastermind negotiator. But hey, makes for an entertaining watch every now and again.

As a non-native English speaker I've gotten pretty good at that. For the longest time my signature even has been saying 'Powered by Google search skills', lol.

Thanks for your answer.
It seems logical when you understand it.
Oh Boy, I didn't see it.
And Gerald is ma favorite youtuber ?
Not really, actually.
I've searched online, as usual, but with the bad words ; transmission instead of Tstop
English is not ma native language, so sometimes, it's just about what you think to understant and the words you use.

Of course he didn't.... he typed a search query into the Search form (which is strangely called Start New Topic on these forums), hit Post and waited for a few hours for the hits to start showing up ???
It's common practice - everyone knows this!!
Searching for "t stop vs f stop" and hit "I'm feeling lucky" and you get this: https://petapixel.com/2016/12/30/f-stops-vs-t-stops-difference-explained-plain-english/

Cinegain reacted to EthanAlexander in Sony car at CES
Sony car: super fast, super range, all the tech, only ugly paint color options.
Nikon car: great tech, durable, promised features like "external batteries for extended range" never actually get released.
Panasonic car: best suspension, most efficient, doesn't let you look through the windshield when using the accelerator.
Canon car: super sexy, built like a tank, "dual focus" lane-keep assist, can't go faster than 10 mph. After firmware update it can go faster than 10mph but only if you never touch the steering wheel.

Cinegain got a reaction from kye in Lenses
True! That happened! Though, you know, less interesting for me having the original set and all (except the oddball T2.6 19mm; if anything, as a proud early backer I thought I was getting a steal on cinema lenses and but now they really are, oh well, at least I can convert mine from MFT to E-mount I suppose, lol).
I mean, it will be HELIOS 44-2 58mm f/2 still, I'm not going for personalization with coated elements and anamorfake inserts or anything, so the familiar look. But it will still be awesome to have it as a properly housed lens ready to survive a few more decades and a lens that's able to grow with you when your productions do too.

Cinegain reacted to mercer in Lenses
Happy New Year lens friends...
I have successfully whittled down my collection to a reasonable number and after my shoot the other day, I took a few more shots with the Samyang 50mm 1.4.
This lens has been on the chopping block so many times, I now root for it as the underdog of my collection, but as BTM has said a bunch of times before... Samyang lenses punch a lot more than their weight.

Cinegain reacted to Tito Ferradans in Sirui anamorphic
I waste no time! hahaha. Mine is the final version. Bokeh depends a lot on the focused distance, smoother the further away you focus and really cat-eyed on the sides when at min focus. There's a sweetspot somewhere in the middle. As for flare, many things can be influencing your perceived difference, from white balance to color correction.
What @kye said. Pushing the hues all the way around is pretty extreme and bound to give you poor results. You can still try it. hahaha
You're welcome!

My pledge was at the super early bird tier level, which is the same moniez as the secret perk for people who subscribed in advance (US$549). As I did not use the special link myself, I can give it to you to take one spot (shouldn't go public with the link tho, for the sake of the other early pre-launch subscribers who were not able to back just yet, but there are quite a few left) if that helps. Always recommend the out/in principle. Sell off something and use it to buy something. Must be something around you don't really use and can be turned to funds.

Just a little end of the year lol for you guys. Have been cookin this one up for a while. I hope you guys get a laugh out of it. This is a parody of the Billie Eilish song “bad guy” except... this one is all about camera gear ?♂️
Let me know your thoughts!
mostly shot on GH5 in 10bit on atomos ninja v.
pickup shots in the garage were shot on EOS R in 4k internal.
a few minor pickups on the EM1 mkii.

Cinegain got a reaction from Geoff CB in Your gear of the decade?
I'm a lenses guy, so that's got to be it for me. The Samsung NX 16-50mm f/2-2.8 S was one of those lenses this decade, but I actually never used the lens or system. I do have the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8, but as a MFT shooter, having to use it with focal reducers (for Nikon, due mechanical aperture operation making for cheaper adapters) and it then being an all manual and bulky setup... not the most ideal. Since, there's been another unicorn... the Leica 10-25mm f/1.7 and that's gotta take the no.1 spot for me.

Cinegain reacted to Mark Romero 2 in Your gear of the decade?
Ok, thanks for the clarification.
If I was going to make a runner-up for a "general" item, I guess maybe Sigma Art Lenses? I know that people love them (I don't own any though), and they have probably helped to force the major camera makers to be more competitive with their own offerings.
Of course, Arri Alexa might fit in there as well since it has been such a workhorse for so many indie movies (not zero budget ones of course). And it has also set the "gold standard" for image quality for all of us mirrorless shooters who are trying to make something look "cinematic."
