Well I used the A7R II and sold it. Non usable for me because of the issues you mention (ergonomics, RS, ...) but also price of the lenses and so on. 
Hopefully with the 5DIV we will have a touch screen, good Dual Pixel AF, nice 4K and even if I criticised them all the way I will get it.
We always criticise canon but at the end of the day, 4 years after the 5DIII we still speak about it as the best DSLR ever for video (raw) and so many stills photographer critic the DR and so on but still use it at the end of the day because more reliable, better lens and colors than Sony and so on.
Isn't that funny? 
Why a company cannot get best of both world between specs and ergonomics/basics?????

Nikon are doing it in photo, but they are ridiculous in video (see D5/500...). 
Canon lacks the specs

Panasonic not bad but who cares about M43? Want FF or minimum APSC.

Haha I remember when I was saying a long time ago for sure the 5D IV will have 4k and powerful video (best DSLR for video) and people were answering that there is no way it will have 4k. 
 

I am looking at a few words only not a full speech that has to be learned and so on. 
A lot of amateurs doing videos like this use their own voice without any training or being big pros as you say. For some it looks nice for some not. 
Just looking for someone that has a nice english (unlike mine) and nice voice and is keen to do that so I just ask. As you say, probably no one will want to do it but you never know so I ask.

When a question like this is asked, no answer. 

Anyway I spent a full day testing today and here are my conclusions, if this helps other readers: 

I use Color Final for grading (as a lut importer for Impulz and for basic corrections) in FCPX as well as Filmconvert. For each test I did the best grade I could with Impulz lut and curves, and the best grade I could with Filmconvert. I also tried both at the same time and this is the best sometimes.
I did that for multiple shots:
Standard Autumn Leaves (use by brandon lee in his nice video)  Different Cine settings Slog 2 So Autumn leaves gives the best look out of the box, but is the worst when graded.
Cine 2 gamma with Cine color gives EXACTLY the same image as SLOG2 after luts and curves are applied, with less opacity for Cine 2 tunings of course (because it is less flat out of the camera. 
I am very pleased with the result.
The conclusion is:
Since Philipp Bloom uses Cine 2 with Cine Color with amazing results, since I confirmed myself I get the absolute same image color as SLOG2 after the tuning and since Cine2 is much easier to work with (no need to push exposure one stop, no need to have 800 iso minimum) my best settings are Cine 2 with Cinema color. On top, Filmconvert has a preset for Cine2 so it works perfectly. If I want to use an impulz slog2 lut it is as easy, I just lower the opacity compared to SLOG2 lut and voila.
 
 
 
 

I have the same problem as you. I have the A7R II.

But I can't be satisfied with still quality of 7D, 5DII (had both) and even 5DIII (had it also). 
As far as I am concerned I love A7R II still quality. 
What I hate is lenses, ergonomics and long exposure noise which are big issues for me. 
I love it too for video. 

My ideal set up would be a D810 for stills with a 14-24 for landscapes and a 85mm for portraits. 
And an A7S II with let's say 35/55/85mm for video. 
But this is too big, and too expensive. 
There is not a solution yet. A7R II was close thanks to its photo/video quality but still missing. 
5D4? Probably no 4K, not even HFR.... 
D820? Probably not before 1 year, probably 4K but will it have clean 120fps..? Then we are left with the DSLR problem for video : lack of EVF and nice focus peaking, tilt screen, ... 
 
I would just love a 5DIII body, with Canon menus and ergonomics and Canon lenses, with an A7SII video spec+quality and a D810 still quality. 
All of this without the mirror, with an EVF and all sony video functions. 
AM I the only one to wish for this? All of this tech is existing in cameras today, so it is not the moon to ask... But I have the feeling it won't come anytime soon.

all reviews are the same and here we get some real info. I am so happy I got the A7r2 instead. But it has a non acceptable issue as well that I will describe in another post.

Your last two posts are very helpful Andrew. 
So it seems S35 of R2 is as good as FF of S2. Definitely last problem remaining is the 120fps (but my girlfriend just ordered today the rx100 IV so it seems this problem is solved for me as long as I don't have a new GF!) 
concerning the colors, could you please do the same test as above but with a7s in cine4 pro and cinema colors , and also no PP and autumn leaves?
a lot of people like Philip bloom, Brian lee and so on made amazing video with those profiles and colors seem better than slog. 
People seem to always thune slog only but I think it is a bad reflex because it does not suit well those 8 bit codecs 

Anyway I am interested. Because I just ordered the A7R II. 
And my need is 50% video and 50% still...  
I have the feeling 12mpx is not very enough. 
Also 42mpx is amazing for exemple : use a voigtlander 15mm as a 15-24 for landscape just by croping... 
AF is good also. 

Just thought about something. 
CanonRumors says in his last article that 5D IV will not have for sure 4K video, but that 1DXII will. 
I mean, 1080p is 5DII old, so 2008 old for Canon 5D line. If 5DIV is released in 2016 (and it will), 5DIII lasted for 4 years. 
So let's say 5DIV is a 2016-2020 camera. Do you seriously imagine that in 2020, the Canon 5DIV has 1080p video, same technology as 12 years old 5DII? That seems so ridiculous and impossible for a flashgip product. Well.... I can't wait to see the answer on this one, and I can say one thing, if 5D4 has no 4K I won't ever buy a Canon product my whole life just as a respect to myself, not giving money to a company that shits on us as much as this.

I used first FCPX, then switched to Premiere (for some reasons but the main one being the easy workflow with After Effects dynamic links) and now I switched back to FCPX a few days ago because I decided I would give it a new try. 

Things I like about FCPX:
ergonomics and timeline, clip organization with easy keywords and so on
Things I like about Premiere:
After Effect dynamic link
Lumetri and overall color grading
But I just found out the plugin Color Finale on FCPX is exactly like lumetri in better:
basic color correction, lut utility, curves, ... AND opacity selection for each setting + a master opacity which is great. I am sold. bye bye premiere

Biggest challenge for 4K60p is heat dissipation. D5 is a huge body. 
If canon could do 4K30p 3years ago in a D5 body (1DC) don't tell me it cannot be 60fps on D5

This is totally plausible as Nikon does not have an "EOS line" to protect, and we all agree they have been pushing a little bit in video since last DSLRs (D810 and D750 with specific cine package, flat profile, clean 1080p) so I assume they would bring video killer features on the D5 and then push it down on the other models, it makes sense. Plus they have the A7RII to fight now and 4K is everywhere and if this body is supposed to last 3-4 years they can't go without 4K.
Well, if those specs are true that is good news for us because: 
- It means the next affordable FF (D750, D810) and APSC will have those feature next
- It will push Canon. If Sony has 4K but no canikon it's ok cause they try to make Sony look like a spec oriented geek company, but if Nikon has 4K@60 fps and Canon releases 1DXII and 5D4 without 4K, then they will look ridiculous.

This is the biggest joke I have ever seen in my all life. 
The price of the accessories... This is an insult. 
Anywone buying those accessories at this price is twice less smart as an earthworm.
 

I have had a hard time for years with this as well. Some settings or trick (such as uploading fake 4K upscaled to get a better bitrate) can do a bit better. Many theories fight against each other (but if some have good settings still share it please). 
But nothing ever close to let's say GoPro official video, why? 
Answer is simple and was written in Google FAQ (not written in USA anymore): 
Pros have a specific account whith 50mbps bit rate for FHD, where you are stuck at around 8mbps. Don't look further.
