I agree most including me do not care about 6K. 4K is good enough today. 

I agree the AF is awful on the S1 as it is on the GH and I have said that for years now: we need good video AF on hybrids. 
Way more important for me than a flip screen: a good 4K60P 10 bits in FF. No FF hybrid does that as of today. Not even 4K60 FF 8 bits. 

I am hopeful the A7SIII will bring the above PLUS an insanely good AF (when seeing performance from A6400 consumer camera). Way more excited for that than the L mount system that has no lens, is way overpriced (based on S1 price and the rumored S1H price) and their shitty prehistoric ridiculous AF. 
Thing is, what is Sony waiting???

Looks like a GoPro copy, and the 7 has insane stabilization. I have it and it really works. Really happy with the footage I get. On my previous GoPros I was always disappointed with how the image looked on my computer VS gopro promotional videos. Not anymore. I think the IS accounts for 90% of that and the IQ is also better. 
Let’s see what DJI brings, raw maybe? But useless for me on an action cam.

A lot of people here thought it would be 4K60 8 bit and that no 10 bit would be possible. Now Sony says 4k60 10bit is easy and below what they will release. Interesting.. probably either/combination of those: 
- global shutter 
- raw
- massive ergonomics improvements
- massive sensor improvements 
With the new AF update on A9 being best AF of the industry, this camera will be very exciting for sure. 

When the A6400 was released and first AF videos showed its performance, I said it was definitely equal or better than DPAF. Some people here laughed. This direct comparison might make them think a little more.
A7S3 will match or beat the A6400 for sure as there is no way on earth the future Flagship performs less than the old entry level. 
The latest Canon bodies are crap, and Sony is really trying to work on their issues/critics at each body release (V3 of A7 line saw massive body improvements, battery life and so on). On top they exceed competition in performance even where they were behind like AF.

When they decide to release a body that has similar specs from other cameras released this decade, I will be the first to buy one. I have 0 brand loyalty. I can't believe they are serving the 6DII sensor in this camera. This company will never stop to disappoint. A $200 APSC Nikon D5200 has better DR and produce better landscape photos than this. That's insane, really insane.  
They just have to put a decent sony-like sensor in their cameras and give decent specs like 4K no crop (like ALL FF mirrorless manufacturers in the world do except them) and people would be all over Canon. Every body out there no exception would buy Canon if they matched A7III specs even for more expensive because everybody agree their ergonomics is better. Yet ergonomics is not all. At the end of the day if I have the best body and menus in the world to output a 1.7 crop wobbly image at this price then I have got nothing. 

Yet they prefer to release garbage and only retain some of their users, with 80% of Sony/Nikon users laughing at them.

I strongly agree and believe this system wont sell very well with its overall price point.

Full video specs being out, this camera is a disappointment:
- massively heavy 
- 5y old AF for video 
- overpriced 
- poor codecs show (and this has been confirmed by rumors) that a proper video body will come later (like the A7S line)
- poor lens choice 
I am waiting for the S1H and A7SIII 

For someone who owns a C200 and 1DXII and films his face then yeah, the EOS R makes a lot of sense. You can use the same lens, easy to match in post, the colors right out of the box need less grading than let's say a Sony. You don't need wide angle and you have little to no movement and you do not use slowmo (on the EOSR, you have the 1DX for that). So yeah that's a lot of sense. 
Now someone like me who is not into one ecosystem, who needs wide angle (mountain/extreme sports/landscape shooting) 80% of the time, who needs slowmo, and who needs decent RS due to action well, the EOS-R is garbage, even for $500 I would not get one. 
And while I am a specific case, I think most video oriented people do want decent RS, use their lenses without 1.7 crop and a lot do want slowmo too. So overall objectively this camera is an epic fail. 

It's very good that it cant fit the need of a minority of people and specific use for sure. Hopefully they will release something with 4K60P and no crop. I love Canon bodies and ergonomics. My first ever DSLR was a Canon. I then owned the 5D2 and 5D3, at which point the competition started to be much much better. 

Truly insane. Bye Canon DPAF?
