I’m not sure which did it, but I did calibration as well as firmware update, and the noise has disappeared.
I’m pretty impressed so far, especially for photos, I never would have imagined using the pocket for photography, other than maybe panos. Look at the crop of this 64MP photo, blown out sky, yes I know, but the detail is pretty great-

The timing! I’m in the middle of making my own similar device, with a raspberry pi zero, only mine will offer both LIDAR-based AF for my Pocket4K as well as SteadXP-type stabilization using a gyroscope and accelerometer.
Mine is for me though, no plans to sell, so we can skip the cease and desist letters.
I am also working on an iOS app for the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max that will do the same things, use the phone’s LIDAR to control BMPCC’s af as well as record movement with gyro and accelerometer for stabilization. That one will be available soon.

Well I, for one, am pretty excited about this, went out and ordered the Mark III today. I was heartbroken to hear about the sale of Olympus, especially as I owned an E-M1 ii for quite some time and loved everything about it except that 8bit codec... so having just sold my X-T4, I pretty excited for this, even if it turns out to be Olympus’s last hurrah.

Well, there’s no 10bit coming out of the Mark III- with or without an external recorder- just 8bit, so I’ll just have to wait for the raw update come winter to see how it looks.

Mine doesn’t, at least not yet. Definitely not after only 20 minutes. The only reports I’ve seen of overheating for the X-T4 are all the different websites quoting the one Northrup video, and who gives a shit what that a-hole has to say?

I bought an X-T4 four weeks ago, and reading articles like this really make me happy with my choice! (A strange feeling when you are GAS-afflicted!)

Northrup. Now that's funny. I'll go with Bloom's analysis, thanks very much.

Northrup was damning on the AF.

As in, turning the camera 90 degrees sideways and shooting in portrait mode? Ok, I can do a test of that later tonight.

Here's one more, with a slower move-
I feel like I see micro jitters in 'IBIS- Boost Off'
'IBIS+DIS-Boost On' looks best to me.

Here is my quick test I just did with firmware 1.02 and the WR 35 f2 lens.
Honestly, I can't tell which mode is working best here. Am I moving too fast to see it?

In fairness though, I've only gotten good results with IBIS on X-T4 with IBIS Boost On, I never turn it off, even if I am panning.

What is getting ridiculous? There have been so many great firmware updates for the X-T3 over the past two years. At some point you have to expect the old cameras to stop getting new features.

External recording though. For me buying a tiny camera and then adding a lot of bulk around it(charging even more batteries), isnt for me. Then I rather have a bigger camera that I dont need to rig up.
Allthough good news that braw is starting to move around to more cameras. Maybe on the next iteration they can do it internal.

Just seeing the name of this camera printed here puts me in a bad mood; I was one of those early adopters that had it for a month when it first came out, took on a trip to Denmark even, and returned it harder than any camera I’ve ever returned before, it left such a bad taste in my mouth. It’s marketed as a hybrid camera, yet the AF was abysmal for stills, like really bad, like it makes the Blackmagic cameras seems like they have dual pixel AF. I was ok with not being able to playback CDNG in-camera (I was used to that from my early BMPCC days). But the aliasing, the unforgivable act of using a non-articulating screen, the waste of time they spend making those stupid “Cinema” color profiles and the stupid waste of button real estate spent on them as well, the fact that you couldn’t easily switch between Cine and Stills mode without ALL your settings (shutter, iso) carrying over as well, it all left me with such disdain for Sigma.
(They did release 3D models of the camera which allowed me to 3D print a hand grip, that was pretty cool actually).
So, like most, I returned the camera, only to read them announce this upcoming firmware which would include Cinemagraphs (hahaha), and ProRes RAW... The Z6 getting ProRes RAW was a pretty exciting read. The Sigma FP on the other hand, the camera that already records raw onto a $70 SSD, hmm, not quite sure this is something this camera was calling out for in the first place. But I guess someone, somewhere, can import footage easier now, is that the advantage? Great use of 8 months of firmware update time Sigma!

It doesn’t even have IBIS it turns out, just some hybrid EIS+OIS system.
