Rather than providing a clean feed window for live streaming in their tether application , which is then to be captured by a streaming software,  do they have any plan to enable a webcam mode in their cameras, similar to what Canon, Fujifilm and more recently Olympus have done?

I am not impressed, Andrew. I was unable to see all the blemishes on people's faces. It is not sharp enough. ?

Andrew, this is what I really like about you and EOSHD, which is the only forum on filmmaking that I regularly follow and care to participate in. I just check other websites to learn about new gadgets and toys

Also Andrew, for your second question, while you do ripple edit with trim tool, press ~. It prevents connected clips from moving when you ripple edit the main clip.

JBraddock got a reaction from Axel in Apple's latest keyboard is dreadful, don't buy it
It is good to see that I am not the only one thinking that Apple's both Magic Mouse and Keyboard are invitation to disaster in terms of ergonomics. I've recently purchased a 2017 iMac. Both wireless keyboard and magic trackpad 2 are still in the box, which I plan to sell them. If you are interested, send me a PM
Recently, while awaiting the iMac to arrive, I had to use an 2011 MacBook Pro 13". I couldn't believe how comfortable the keys were on that machine compared to my previous Retina MacBook Pro. It was as if I had typed on a flat surface for so long that I'd forgotten what it is like to type comfortably.
I've recently purchased a boxed Apple Wireless Keyboard from 2003 from Ebay. It is a temporary solution until I find a good mechanical keyboard.
Also, if you are using a USB keyboard or mouse, especially those with extra buttons and keys, make sure you check out USBOverdrive or similar applications to modify certain keys to your preferences. You can create custom profiles if you like. For example, when you are in Final Cut, you may choose to use certain macro keys to perform certain actions. You can create a dedicated editor keyboard

I am also a FCP X user and I've purchased the top-tier 27" iMac with i7, AMD Radeon Pro 580 W/8Gb VRAM, 8GB Ram, and 512GB SSD. It should be delivered by 6 July and I would be happy to answer any questions you might have.
I've upgraded from the same model (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014 with 2.5GHz i7, 16GB Ram and 512GB SSD) you currently have. Normally, I was planning to buy a 4K display and use an EGPU to extend the laptop's life. But when I calculate the total cost, it seems more logical to sell the laptop and buy the iMac. I was able to sell my laptop for £1200 and I bought the iMac with higher education discount for ~£2350.
I've had quite a bit experience with Hackintosh and I would probably easily build a killer and more powerful system with this budget but I didn't want to bother with its maintenance. That said, if you choose your parts carefully, you can easily build a reliable and more powerful PC with the option to upgrade its internal in the future should you require a more powerful machine in the future.

I've made a similar setup for a friend and the result is really good. In my case, I have a Tascam DR 100 Mark II and want to fully utilise it. Otherwise, it is a good combination.

You can get a half decent wireless kit for dirt cheap now:

Otherwise, just buy a cheap Aspen lav mic for now.

I believe mine is a higher end model.
That mic seems like a good option but here in the UK it costs as much as the Audio-Technica ATR3350. I'll have look at this mic as well.
    Thanks for the suggestion.

Fuji's stills is the main reason for why I've become interested in this camera and what makes me more interested is the fact that Fuji does not abondon its cameras in two months after their release. I am sure that we will see important enhancements for videographers via firmware and perhaps a new "x-videographer/filmaker" scheme.

I also have a 50mm f/1.7 (MMJ), which I quite like. Have you considered the f1.4 version of this lens as I hear that it has a much better built quality than its little brother?

Good idea. This was my initial thought as well though my lens was almost brand new when I got it so not sure if it'd been serviced before. But I will try to test another EF mount lens to make sure that it is indeed the focal reducer that creates the problem.

Not sure which focal reducer you have but, the RJ has an infinity focus adjustment. I also have GX7 and Contax Zeiss 50mm f/1.7 with the same problem you have. RJ sent me this picture so that I can fix it. But I just didn't have time to do it. Just be careful though; mark the current position and rotate it in small increments until you are satisfied.
In my case, I can focus to infinity but I just have to dial it back a bit. This is to fix it so that when the focus in at infinity sign, it is actually focused to infinity.
    Hope this helps.

Do you guys know any other lens other than Panasonic 14-50mm F2.8-3.5 OIS that Andrew mentioned in his latest article which has image stabilisation and is not as expensive as the native offerings.

Panasonic 12-35 f2.8 and Olympus 12-40 f2.8 look good but they are out of my budget. Still the problem is that four third to micro four third adapters are not very cheap. They are some generic adapters on Ebay but I am not sure how good they are. I don't really care about auto focus but I would like to have image stabilisation. Any suggestion?

I have a RJ lens turbo and it shifts my infinity focus a bit. I have to dial back to 10m instead of infinity sign to be able to focus on infinity. However, that adapter has focus adjustment. Look here. I haven't changed it yet as I wanted to try other lenses first.

I bought a GX7 with 20mm lens for £600 and thanks to it, I decided not to sell my Kowa 8Z. With focus peaking and smaller body form, compared to D7100, the whole setup is now way usable than I'd ever asked for.

I wonder if this is true for GX7 as well, which is supposedly using the same sensor.
