graphicnatured got a reaction from frontfocus in Sony A7R IV / A7S III / A9 II to feature 8K video, as new 60MP and 36MP full frame sensor specs leak
IMO, not really if it looks like Sony footage. I don't care how many Ks are in it.

You know I have never had to interview on a set like that. I can't imagine how a person would not be intimidated, and could relax, and be yourself!

I used mine with samsung t5 for the entire weekend and a product shoot today and not one issue. I'm totally stoked on this camera. I'll be posting some shots this weekend once I can catch up with work.

When I was shooting work for a client with an FS7 I always had a backup cam, just in case. Anything can happen at any time. Always be prepared.

What kinks are you talking about?
We're producing with them daily and haven't had any issues.
It's the most advanced small camera I've ever worked with. Incredible image, interface and features.
The rest is all internet speculation.

Yeah I have used ENG cameras with Dual Batteries stacked back to back on them. Man like 22, 23 pound cameras that way. That got old pretty quick LoL. But they were easy to steady back then with all the weight. No IBIS, OIS them days. Surprisingly you didn't need it.

@graphicnatured or any of you, if you are in the market for a focal reducer, better to take a look on this new thread:

Pocket 4K tap-to-focus feature is actually unusable so better to accept manual focus as mandatory in this camera.

I've used the Viltrox EF-M2 exclusively and it works great. You will loose an AF abilities the lens has, but I understand that's also the case with Metabones too.
I assume you're not buying this for AF anyway, but worth mentioning just incase.

The 1DXMk2 with lens is huge and heavy. It feels much heavier with lens than the X-T3 with lens. Battery grip or not. Don't get me wrong... it's built to withstand war. But that said, it's not the kind of camera that you take along on a whim.
This is the strength of these smaller and lighter cameras.
Btw... thanks to everyone for the kind words. We all know it takes guts to put your work out there, and while there is nothing wrong with constructive and positive criticism, I feel it reflects poorly on the community when things get negative. Remember, being negative with film just doesn't work?

Are we judging what people do with their free time and their money?
Do we criticize a man taking photos of his family?
This is not a wide-forum phenomena, we can not characterize a whole forum for some immature people's comments, especially when other forum members talked back with common sense.

Jesus, what happened to keeping criticism constructive and supportive? I came to this forum hoping to find a community of likeminded film makers interested in the new possibilities of smaller, cheaper cameras, and I stayed because of the variety and frequency of discussions. This forum always seems to be more on top of new news than others.
But lately it's all been about attacking other blogs and youtubers, denigrating your peers, and now giving really harsh and insensitive criticism to each other.
I would never post my own work in this forum now. I wouldn't expect to receive any useful criticism from a place where there are so many thin-skinned, insecure and defensive people.
Of course there are many intelligent, experienced and positive people here too, but they increasingly seem to keep their heads down these days.

Just received my BMPCC4K today . yay - (What a joy using a camera with an intuitive UI)
Finally I bought a Sandisk Extreme Portable Ssd instead of the Samsung T5. (or making my own) Better price for the same config and better performance. Amazon had an offer:
https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B078SWJ3CF/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
To my surprise it performs quite a bit better than the announced 550MB/s read speed - In the BM speed test I got R:800+MB/s and W:700+MB/s !! (formatted in ExFat) even after a few minutes run.
Recording with the ssd it delivers too. No dropped frames in any settings (raw 4k dci @ 60 fps is no problem)
So solar very recommendable.
I tested a few 64GB v90 sd cards as well (Lexmark and Sandisk). 4K DCI 25fps in prores (all flavours) works fine no dropped frames (in LT get 23 min recording time - in HQ 11...). Even 1080p100 works (24 min in LT) So if slowmo in 4k isn't necessary no need to spend cash on the fastest sd/cf cards (at least in PAL-land)
( in 1080p25 you get 45m in HQ and 97m in LT - pretty descent)
I have been reading quite some complaints regarding the battery door. It doesn't seem flawed to me. Though the door locking mechanism can probably trick/annoy some. One have to put the locking nod back in place after closing the door. Doing that it should be just fine (not the best design but no deal breaker)
Since the camera got released there has been quite a few critical voices complaining just about anything it had to offer (or missing).
Having had it in my hands for a few hours I find a lot of the comments quite a bit exaggerated. Sure an articulated screen could be great in some occasions and sure the battery life depletes quite fast. But those are things one can easily work around. I know I can. I am more than confident that I will enjoy the results filming with this camera ?

graphicnatured reacted to spinkscapes in X-T3 or Pocket 4K?
ser from Saturday's wedding.
The predominant camera is the X-T3 on the gimbal.
There's also quite a few shots in there from the Pocket 4K, a couple of from our trusty C200 (taking a back seat to the other cameras) and one from the 5D mkIV.
Impressions of the two cameras after two weddings:
1. The X-T3 is the perfect camera for the Zhiyun Crane 2. It is perfectly balanced even before turning the gimbal on. This wedding I used it entirely with my new 18-55mm at the wide end as I wanted the IS. The
2. The Blackmagic Pocket 4K is something else. Utterly magnificent. With the Voigtlander 25mm constantly on this camera it produces an image that is unmatched by any of the other cameras I own. You just need to be in a position that allows you time to compose and focus. Thankfully the Voigtlander is great for quick manual focusing. The menu system is intuitive and easy and the touch screen makes changing settings a dream. The one chief drawback is that the battery life is awful. You shouldn't expect more than 40 minutes on constantly shooting. So I have about 15 LP-E6 batteries handy just in case.
They both compliment the other very well and I will be keeping both for my uses.

I think the REAL fun with the reviews will start with the BRAW firmware coming in. Much smaller file sizes in RAW (12:1), improved low light compared to DNG, much more film-like grain, and I am guessing some minor improvement in dynamic range (mostly due to way the noise in the Last stops may appear).

I often feel like the critics are asking for BMD to turn the pocket into a camera that they already made, the Ursa Mini.
