Eric Calabros reacted to Michael S in Sony A7S III – 10bit vs 8bit 4K/60p
What the specs never say is the bit depth used to scan the sensor. When stills are taken one might expect the full bit-depth is used (14-bit?). But in video mode, to reduce rolling shutter, a read-out mode with reduced bit-depth may be used. For 8-bit log or gamma-corrected recordings a 10 bit (lineair) read mode might be used. If that same 10-bit linear mode is used to create a 10-bit log, the quality wouldn't be much better than with an 8-bit log except for reduction of round-off errors.

Your statistics doesn't tell us what Vermont did that NYC and north east states didn't. Massachusetts is state of science believers I guess.

That was at its borders. But you intentionally remove the word "border" to make it support your Vermont narrative.

Its like saying poor people in developed countries shouldn't call themselves poor, because some kids somewhere in India are dying because there is no enough food.
Slavery is about a situation where a person or a group of people, commonly known as master, decides how you should live. Some people have legitimately concluded that they're in that situation right now. The mathematical measurements of misery is not the subject.

    "Temporary" was a lie.
"Its just a disruption" was manipulation of public opinion. Its not a disruption anymore. Its ruining people.
"Save the lives" was wishful thinking. It wouldn't work with that level of state incompetency, and it didn't, as expected. Vietnamese didn't have to live in prison and gradually become financially destroyed to save the lives of their neighbors.
You still talk in a way like there is two side, the science side and denier side. Sorry, that fake duality expired many months ago. The "know what to do" side have no idea what its doing:

Every policy has its limits. Restriction for two months is very different with same restriction for two years. People calling it slavery or any other names, is completely natural reaction at this point. I live in a country that people simply gave up! Its not that only you understand the common sense. Humans are more complicated than that.. they're not coded with C++.

Eric Calabros reacted to RawZion in My opinion on the Zeiss ZX1
I really don't see the point of this Zeiss camera, besides conspicuous consumption.

Earlier this year I rented a Nikon Z6 to try it out and was blown away by the in-camera raw photo editing capabilities.  Not quite Lightroom, but the best I'd ever seen in a camera.  And of course it (like my Sony a7iii) can transmit photos and videos to my smartphone via an app for sharing or further editing.  So I really don't get the point of this Zeiss camera, besides the Zeiss name (and of course you can put a Zeiss lens on a Nikon).

B&H has the Nikon z7II at $3,046.  You can then put any lens on it, but if we're sticking to the comparison let's go with the Nikon Z 35mm 1.8, which B&H has at $696.  I rented that lens (see example shots below), and it was excellent, but I ended up buying the Rokinon 35mm Cine t1.5 since I like doing everything manually.

So with Nikon you're spending $3,742, and have a camera that can do way more than the Zeiss, has more resolution and way more video options, and of course it can even switch lenses.  What's the point of the extra $2,258?

Not defending this crop nonsense, but 1.7x crop video is same as 1.5x crop in still. The number is bigger because of 16:9 ratio.
