ntblowz reacted to Oliver Daniel in Panasonic FF L-mount Cine camera coming
There seem to be a few people happy with the EOS R, but there's no denying for most people it's absolutely rock bottom for mirrorless video (like all their other DSLR / DSLM) cameras when it comes to video. Even Fuji are miles ahead for video capture now. The frustration targeted at Canon is there for good reason., however it's best to forget about it.
There's also a lot of talk about autofocus. Rightly so, this is absolutely fantastic for solo gimbal and I'd love to have PDAF in the GH5. Not having PDAF doesn't stop me shooting. However, A LOT of people have got really, really obsessed with it as if they've forgot to use manual focus (which I use 99% of the time). Manual lenses are way more fun!
There's also a hell of a lot of bashing about the S1 cameras due to unrealistic expectations (requests for internal BRAW etc, what?). For video, there's literally nothing else like it and people are still complaining?
We're spoilt for choice these days and there's something for everyone. Enjoy it!

oh lol
Got S1 and G7, but i m thinking getting G95 for 10-25mm, and sell S1 & R to get S1H
Well said, after coming from A7III to S1 the AF is acceptable for me, the new linear focus options is really great for manual focus, Sony one is just pain the ass unless you got expensive GM lens for MF.

The flippy screen situation has sold me. I need a $4000 Vlogging camera in my life.

Fucks sake.
Well done Panasonic for NOT mentioning one of the biggest changes and leaving it up to some guy at the show with a sneaky shot of the prototype!!!

Well, I don't normally do this but I'll be first to preorder because I have a feeling this lens will be on backorder for awhile.

I think I’ve seen better images coming out of the S1.
Dont worry guys, in a few days Tony will release a completely contradictory video about the same topic so he effectively covers the entire clickbait spectrum.

This camera does exist and is already in the hands of some reputable camera stores in LA. I talked with one owner and they didn't reveal much except that it was a game changer and one of the best cameras that they had ever seen. I asked them "game changer? They said "yeah". They have it in their shop and are playing with it. Not to something to be taken lightly, especially with using the word game changer... Coming from Panny!!

My china made S1 feel much better quality than my made in Japan R, it's all depend on the product tier I guess?
I think my next car will probably Chinese made electric car, both Korean and Japanese electric car cost way too much! Almost same price as Tesla model 3.

Ebrahim Saadawi, the gift which keeps on giving!
I dunno. While it was a common belief that Australia didn't exist, most people do now believe in its existence. But there are still a few who believe it doesn't exist:

Honestly I'm more worried about how New Zealand seems to be getting wiped out:

ntblowz reacted to newfoundmass in Eos R finally closer to it's actual value
Most consumers don't know anything about sensor size, etc. It's really only in this prosumer/professional bubble that people are obsessed with full frame cameras.
Meanwhile I'm happy over here with my M43 and next month is set to be my most profitable month ever!

I got my R for way cheaper than that 2 months, thanks to Canon in Oz been generous with $1 R auctions (they stopped when RP comes out), though my one wasn't the lowest amount among the past winners but so far I am pretty happy with the camera overall, video look more natural than M50.

I didn’t say that, I only say Canon and Sony can get focus hunt/lost focus as well
Not being defensive just sick of people thinking mirrorless have to be small and fragile, for pro work I want them to be tough and able to stand abuse for field work. I am looking at it as pure workhorse and nothing else. I use R/Leica T for casual photography and G1xiii for travel, though R is also used as bcam for c200.

Yes, image stabiliser works too!
I use them a lot as I work full time in video production, that speaking from my experience since I have huge sample size not just shooting once in a blue moon.
Obvious S1 is not targeted to you, there are many tools out there to suit your needs, I just buy whatever fits my need.
Compare to c200 it is much lighter, I’ve done c200 handleheld for half day, so S1 weight is totally fine for me.

The old 'tape over the contacts' trick has made a comeback !
Manual focus and locked aperture but at least it mounts and I can see some enterprising 3rd party making a cheap semi-smart adapter now that has aperture control.
