  1. He could get an EOS R for cheaper though which would make more sense if he's matching cameras. I feel like an XT3 especially used would be a great bargain. If you don't need 4k a used A7S is even cheaper plus the low light performance is the best money can buy.
  2. I decided I am going to make an adapter for the URSA mini seeing as there isn't one available for the Mini (non pro version). It honestly should be really simple. Just going to remove an EF mount off a cheap adapter and attach it to a piece of sheet metal cut to size. Than I'll just have to shim it until its the perfect distance from the sensor. I am a bit jealous. I wish I was able to pick that one up for $500 I talked about earlier. I might hold out and get a Z-cam S6 down the road. They have an Electronic Variable ND adapter for it and I've been really impressed with the IQ on those cameras. I am jealous 🤣
  3. I am planning on modifying my Minolta 35mm 1.8 to EF. I really love the image and it will be nice to start using it more frequently.
  4. I'd not be surprised. I am pretty sure he did a test(maybe it was another youtuber but they had equal experience regardless) and he left all the NR and Sharpness settings on default between like 5 different cameras. Really put some at a disadvantage.
  5. GH5S A7S A7SII A73 BM Pocket 4k BM Pocket 6k The Fuji XT3, XT-30, and XT2 are not bad at 6400 iso. The Sony A6400/A6300/A6100 etc.. also are pretty respectable. Not sure what your noise tolerances are. I'd not use any of panasonics M43 cameras at 6400 iso besides the GH5S.
  6. The Pocket 6k does give a better image. However a speedbooster can be had for $200 which is still much less than the Pocket 6k with wider field of view and the option to do 4k RAW without having to crop in on the sensor. Different strokes for different folks I guess. I was debating between the two but ended up with the URSA mini
  7. Yeah I am not a fan of the modern focus by wire lenses. I have a 35mm 1.8 but its a bit of a nightmare to focus. I much prefer the older AI or AI-S lenses.
  8. I’m currently trying to construct a mount for it. There is more than enough room for one once you remove the PL mount. Really odd they didn’t make it interchangeable. I’d like to get the pro version but it’s a good deal more that I don’t have lol. I also like the big 5 inch screen on mine. We'll see.
  9. Apparently the Ursa Mini 4.6k mount isn't interchangeable, only the mini pro 🤦‍♀️ Looks like I'll be returning it
  10. Yeah I'd not use 1/4 unless you want something really stylized. The 1/8th is nice, its just definitely noticeable. It mainly shows up if you have blown highlights, if your highlights are under controls its very subtle. I am going to use it with my modern lenses, as I don't like doing much in post at least for fast turn around stuff.
  11. There isn't really a file size difference between 1080p and 4k if you are shooting at 100mbps. I agree though, unless you are cropping you can't tell a difference, until maybe you blow it up on a big 4k screen.
  12. The pocket 4k is impressive for 1k, crazy
  13. I think its just the reality for most creative jobs. Its either you know the right people or you are lucky or you are good at business or at least marketing yourself.
  14. Saw one on Craigslist for $850 😵
  15. Well people have the Alexa lut from sage and people have called the OG pocket a baby Alexa. But people still aren’t satisfied.
  16. For native lenses probably the older primes the 35mm 1.4, 23mm 1.4, 16mm 1.4 and the 56mm 1.2, for the longer focus throw. The 16-55 2.8 is probably nice too for that. The newer F2 lenses have faster Auto Focus if you'll be using AF you might want to go with those. The auto focus on the older lenses is also kind of jumpy or steppy/mechanical looking sometimes. Going into the last settings(marked with a wrench) and switching focus from nonlinear to linear helps a lot to with manual focusing. If you want to go all out see if you can get ahold of the 18-55 2.8 cine lens.
  17. If he got what he needed at the show then any advantage the A73 has wasn't needed.
  18. haha I was admiring his unique studio setup
  19. That’s the case with IBIS on most cameras though
  20. IBIS looked great in this video, that was with a non OIS lens.
  21. You have an interesting idea of fun
