Yurolov got a reaction from arant.joseph in FDTimes "sin-sin" director interview (Sigma Fp RAW)
Well said Andrew. Brilliant review. I so hope everyone gets behind Sigma on this product and their vision. Andrew, I think a review on youtube would really help as there is a current dearth of good reviews out there. Camera hasn't been hyped at all on youtube (some might say that is a blessing).

Yurolov got a reaction from tweak in A new industry standard: Fully controlled reviewers
The state of the industry is shocking. The shilling is flagrant and constant. Sony is really bad at it with all the cretins they enlist on YouTube. It's become so bad that the best, and most unbiased, reviews come from a meme channel started as a joke about finding the perfect camera. He actually gives in-depth tests and comparisons.
Just look at the 1dx and the rolling shutter issue and how that was ignored. And some companies like Fuji get a pass on poor autofocus and ibis. Just does not look good and people should be made aware of it.

Bloom is a paid influencer. About five years ago, colleagues of mine organized a seminar on influencer marketing when this was still a new phenomenon. They showed us a subscription-only, non-public B2B matchmaking website consisting of a database of social media influencers who offered their services. I searched his name and found his listing/pitch in it. (Unfortunately, forgot the name of that database website.)

Yurolov reacted to Andrew Reid in truth about Pocket 6k dynamic range
Rather than go full frame as has been rumoured (let alone 8K), I think Blackmagic should bring back the old BMCC 2.5K sensor for a $999 model and do an updated Pocket 6K with same S35 sensor, but mirrorless L-mount or E-mount.
Then they should go to work on the body and make a proper camera, not a potato, and sell for $2000.
Minimum standard:
Build quality to at least Panasonic GH5 or X-T4 level
Large built in EVF like the competition
Fully articulated screen, even if they have to make it smaller
IBIS would be ideal
Fix the battery life. it's completely unacceptable on the single Canon battery
PDAF would be nice
Then we have all the makings of a giant killer.

Panasonic could see the writing on the wall with Olympus. They knew they couldn't sustain MFT by themselves and have transitioned to FF.

Contrast this attitude with smaller Chinese companies like z-cam who have a ceo answering questions on Facebook and improving their cameras based on user suggestions. No usb-c just goes to show how slow and outdated some of these Japanese companies are.

I wonder if it will have the same impact with the youtube shills as the zv1 i.e. 1000 videos drop at once from the likes of Phillip Bloom, that tech channel which exclusively reviews apple products, the fashion blogger that sony paid et cetera et cetera.

Yurolov reacted to Andrew Reid in Canon 1D X Mark III Review // Filmmaking, video and cinema camera. Get the Fuji X-T4 instead?
So the X-T4 has DIS as well. DIS has been around since the NX1 in quite an effective form, but it actually tends to impact on the image more than IBIS in terms of the artificial look and warping. The only thing that needs updating with IBIS on the X-T4 is the addition of some kind of artificial intelligence that recognises human camera work and tells the system not to fight against it. As it stands, the IBIS will occasionally prevent smooth intentional pans and tilts. So in that case, you can turn it off and use a tripod or an OIS lens. A lot of people's results are impacted from having IS Mode Boost enabled as well, and expecting a virtual gimbal. Actually, the boost mode is meant for completely locked down shots, not movement.
The autofocus is very reliable indeed in my experience so far. A big step forward from the X-T3. I noticed plenty of occasions testing it vs the 1D X Mark III where it actually outperformed it. The 1D X Mark III would actually miss.
The real choice when the R5 comes out will be the R5 or A7S III?
I think Sony is waiting to top it in a big way.
By then there may also be a GH6 and X-H2.
So let's not put all our camera potatoes in one Canon shaped basket.

Leave the plastic japanese colors behind and enter a world of pure magic. Organic goodness.

Yurolov reacted to IronFilm in Selling FS5 to get a BMPCC4K?
Are you working for others, or are you in house shooter or a hobbyist?
As if you're being hired by others mostly as a cam op / "DoP" then I'd say absolutely stick with the FS5
But if not then you could possibly make a case for switching over to a BMPCC4K

MFT is a great format indeed. When I mean dismiss any of them, I meant to ignore either of both actually. You can surely skip one of those if you have the other one, of course : ) But this camera series is a dream come true, my fav acquisition system ever designed, produced and delivered to my book : -)
Mainly shot on P6K, here's a trailer of a feature film co-produced by me currently @ post production:

I beg to differ.
SIgma Fp full frame RAW output to SSD
Panasonic S1 V-LOG 10bit 422
Nikon Z6 ProRes RAW
And arguably GH5S codec is pretty good looking.

Yurolov reacted to Django in Sony A7S III wish list and the not-NAB 2020 no-show today
What a bunch of nonsense. You think you know me but you don't know shit. I'm probably one of the most brand agnostic persons around here.
While I have my preferences when it comes to camera companies for various subjective reasons, I started photography on Nikon equipment and still shoot film with them. Did a lot of work on the D750. I was one of the first here to go all-in the Fuji hybrid revolution with XT2. My favorite camera is my Leica M9P. I've owned the A7S2 and I also currently own a Sony FS7, my professional workhorse. Finally I won't hesitate to rent a RED/ARRI or whatever if budget/crew allows it. Oh and I won't even go into lens manufacturers.
So you see trying to pigeonhole me as a Canon fanboy is pretty ridiculous. Its not cuz I enjoy a particular camera, that I hate others.
I stand by my word about EOS R. As flawed as it may seem, for my personal usage its a great hybrid.
Laugh all you want.. IDGAF. I work within camera systems. The body is only one element..
That said, I never stated EOS R was perfect or better than any other camera. I only defended it against attacks of those that thought it was a useless POS. Most of whom never even picked one up.
And that's one thing I don't understand in these forums is people talking shit about gear they have never touched or have any intention of using. That to me is true fanboyism.
Cuz see you're attacking me for a camera I appreciate. It's so stupid man.
Doesn't make me a Fanboy. It does however make you look like a Hater.

He has a beef with them. Dont worry about it. Just use your camera. If you like it that's all that matters.
