I'm going to use with the new Pocket 4K vintage full frame manual lenses with Metabones Speed Booster XL 0.64x (Nikon to M4/3).

    1. Tokina 28-70 f/2.8, with BMPCC4K (crop 1.9) and 0.64x booster it covers 34-85mm f/1.8.

    2. Leica Summicron-R 50mm f/2.

    3. And I would like to get Angenieux 70-210mm f/3.5.

Im also thinking about the XL + Tokina 28-70, I (regrettably) sold my copy but might look for another.

  2. It depends weather you are willing to wait until September for the pocket or not. on your budget, the gh5s might be too expensive if you need grip and light equipment also. it appears you are looking for a 'do it all' camera, maybe the Gh5 might be a good pick for that, pair it with a zoom.

Remember buying used is a good idea on a limited budget.

  3. Yeah In test it looks awesome, it looks tailer made for narrative work. I might even be inclined to buy both depending on what they go for...

  4. Im currently bidding on both the 25 and 28 on ebay UK, ill see how it goes! (the 25mm is already Leitaxed)  Focus breathing also doesn't bother me in the slightest. Thanks for the tips, I was also considering Leica R's.

  5. Thanks for the reply, Do you think the 25 is more preferable than the 28? I heard they were very close in focal length

  6. Ive been looking into Contax Zeiss lenses and I think ive settled on the 28mm 2.8 50mm 1.4 85mm 2.8 anyone had any experience with these lenses?

  7. I picked up a Helios 44-2 for £5 in a local camera shop... Its battered with large scratches on the elements but delivers a fantastic low contrast image, blooming highlights and good looking flares and outstanding bokeh. for £10 (£5 adapter) it puts many lenses to shame. I paired it with my GH5 & Speedbooster to test it out on a dog walk.

All images have been transformed to Rec709 with minor contrast adjustments on some images. (loving the low contrast!)

Leica R's - both brilliant and one of the two best longlife solution if they are in optimal condition ... but be careful with adapters Leica R to M43 - from three of Chinese origin that I had, no one doesn't completely focus to infinity! The same story with Leica R to Canon EF (and than to speedbooster EF/m43)... Even first version of Metabones isn't perfect... I don't know about second, I sold Leica R lenses just to, out of curiosity, invest on further lens testing... Now I'd keep them.

Did you find an adapter solution for the Leica R's that focuses to infinity? Ill be using them with a m43 speedbooster?

I know it's probably not very relevant as price might change again many times before the actual shipping date but CVP lowered the price from 1029£ to 975£ (1235£ and 1170£ respectively inclusive of VAT). Is not much but is a slightly better exchange rate from $1295 :-)

Yeah I got this pleasant suprise from CVP also!
