    1) technically BMPCC 4k with an XL Speedbooster will give you a "larger sensor" than the BMPCC 6k....but with LucAdapter Magicbooster....you can make the BMPCC 6k FULL FRAME potentially!

I read this question as physical depth of the camera, from front of the lens to the screen. If that wasn't the question, I'd still like to know :)

weired to see resolve 15 flyer i would have thought they do16

It's strange they put version numbers on at all. Since so far all updates are free, they could just not even mention it on the packet thing.

Also, it's nice to see it's not just double the price for 6k and EF mount. There's also a strap!

  3. @mercer Here's everything Grant mentioned regarding the P4K update

v6.6 expected 'in a month or two'.

    1. Many more HUD languages

    2. One screen level, using built in gyrochip.

    3. Gimbal support to allow start stop and focus on popular gimbals. (No mention of what those are)

    4. 4k 2.4:1 - s16 - 1.33x anamorphic desqueeze & 16x9 preview - 4:3 anamorphic 2x desqueeze preview

    5. Hopefully a few other little surprises

Plus lenses for s16 could be more affordable or you get more for your money. You may be able to pick up an old cinematic zoom for less than a couple k.

Yeah, my thought process was, you can already do that and always could, just crop in post. But as been pointed out, this new in camera crop will save space and time, and we definitely need to do that with the way the world's looking these days.

Does anyone know if it will work with EF-S lenses?

There's no reason it won't. EFs are made for APSC sensors, which this is. The only reason they don't work on speed boosters is because the glass in the booster stops the lens from clicking into onto the mount. On the P6k, there's no glass between the mount and the sensor, so nothing to get in the way.

  6. It’s probably a stupid question, and I’m missing something, but what's the advantage of an in camera crop to s16 over using the whole sensor and cropping in post?

Couldn't they just add s16 frame lines to help you get your shot and then you can adjust it later. That way it's the same advantage as shooting 6k for 4k delivery... right?

Or even better, allow the s16 frame to fill the camera monitor, but the actual file has the full 4k image, vignette and all.

  7. My experience with ML raw is limited, but Braw is much easier to work with and you can put it straight into the NLE and go. It also has half baked luts, so you have a near perfect SOC file with all the luxuries that come with raw.

Ive also found its less noisy and often more forgiving that ML raw, but like I said my experience with ML is limited and it’s entirely possible I’m doing it wrong.

  8. But how many people bought the lowres 4k version before seeing any footage? People just trust that BM cameras look nice, and that's a pretty good reputation that they've built for themselves... despite the many other, more negative sides of that reputation.

I wounder if Canon EF-S lenses will fit without modification? There is some pretty nice cheap lenses in that line.

They fit the Ursa line, so I don't see a reason they wouldn't fit this. They only don't fit speedboosters because there's extra glass between the mount and the sensor.
