Now I finally learned how sounds somebody who is completely out of suspicion to be the fanboy
I mean, not just being absolutely sure that one manufacturer is /has "largely a superior product compared to the rest", and not just being even more absolutely sure that all around are people that feel threat and logically hate that largely superior product, but, most important - saying such epochal true in such epic last-line way and intonation, that all mirrors are immediately breaking apart!
Thank you, sir, you finally tell to all of that fanboy-pet-cameras unenlightened-cowards full of shit what they deserved!

Jan G got a reaction from tweak in Panasonic GH5 - all is revealed!
Hi Jonpais, i also noticed this, so I did a comparison in photo mode using a 25mm prime from panasonic. First I took a shot in 4:3 mode en the exif says 25mm is 50mm in the 35mm equivalent then I took a shot in 16:9 mode and now the exif says 25mm is 54mm in the 35mm equivalent this is the same crop as in movie mode.  So this confirms tweaks answer and is not a bug.

    Hey,

I've been lurking for a while now, and now it's time to post something. I have a GX80 for a few months now. Last week I found the following video about a DIY windbreaker for the built in MIC.

Now I thought that I could design something similar that could be 3D printed. So I did tonight. I still need to find some fabric to test it, but if it works I'll share the files.

    Here's a video I shot with the GX80.
The interview was shot with a Pentax Tokina 28mm f2.8.
Exteriors were mostly shot with the kit 12-32mm kit lens. I was planning on using my old Pentax 28mm, 50mm and 135mm lenses with a newly bought Camdiox/Roxsen focal reducer, but found the middle of the image was cloudy. I ended up using the kit 12-32mm without an ND filter, so have a lot of overexposed footage.
Edit - A small error near the end of the video. I'll need to reupload a fixed version.

Here is my first 4K-based adventure with the GX80. I am suprised I didnt really miss the slow-mo at all. Although rendering takes ages on my Macbook Pro 2011 (3min video took 3:45h for rendering!), editing with proxy files works without any hickup. I am amazed by the quality and I think I will continue using 4K from now on. Lenses used: Sigma 18-35, but mostly the Panasonic 20mm. I already sold the Speedbooster XL and the Sigma, it is just too huge and even with the 4K crop one sees the vignette when the stabilization kicks in.

Yes the 18-55 lens has to be updated, I also run into this problem when I bought the X-T2 kit, It is not something you expect when buying a brand new camera. But after updating the lens, ois is very close to the ibis of my GX85. I absolutely recommand buying the kit, this lens is definitely worth the 300 Euro/Dollar when you buy it in the kit.
For a flat setting you can probably best use negative standard with al the other settings dialled down to the lowest value.

In the Q menu you can save up to seven different camera profiles.

I picked up a X-T2 kit just for our holiday to Kos (Greece) and started shooting there figuring out the settings on the way.
After some days I choose Astia low which worked best for me under these high contrast circumstances.

I put together some footage I shot on Kos, nothing spectacular all handhold, mainly shot with the kit lens and the 50-230 f4.5-6.7, which I bought for 180 Euro.

Finally finished the recap of 3 weeks of backpacking in Peru!
    Lessons learned:
Dont just bring a MF only lens with you, I had discard too many shots that would have been great, yet where out of focus. Next to 1, dont just bring a 25mm lens with you, especially for landscape this does not cut it. Next time I will buy a (ultra) wide zoom, this will give me much more possibilities. Maybe the Sigma 18-35, will see... And dont forget your sun hood

My first project with the GX80. Since size / weight does matter and securities are kinda picky, i had no choice but to leave my lovely Voigtländer 25 lens at home and put the Panasonic 20mm on it. I had mixed feelings especially I did not use this lens for a very long time but in the end, I am satisfied with the result. Grading was a breeze, skin tones need little to no adjustment and also this lens works quite well with the Tiffen Ultra Contrast Filter.

A test 4K video using the tiny 35-100 f4-5.6 zoom. Shot in Standard, -2 NR only, to see what the camera puts out. Also tests the audio, as there is a jazz group playing unamplified. All handheld.

used the gx80 with 12-32 for first time on actual shoot and wanted to share a few thoughts:
    - ibis works well to keep camera shake and jitter at bay in run n gun situations like the ones I am used to. If you can manage to walk smoothly you can even pull off some "sort of" gimbal shots.
    - resolution, dynamic range and color has greatly improved from gh1 and gh2 (my previous panny cameras)
    - the 12-32 lens is a good all rounder for my type of situations, with ETC you get the extra reach when needed. I do really miss a manual focus gear.
    - single AF defining the area with touch screen and focusing with half shutter is my preferred way of using this lens. I do wish peaking was enabled also for AF just to be sure. I did miss a couple of out of focus shots looking at the lcd, which confirms my personal hate towards filming with lcd, I much prefer looking into an evf.
    - i missed several recordings, because sometimes you need to press twice the rec button, it seems that after 1 min of inactivity the camera goes into a half standby, removing info from screen.
    - hdmi ouput is clean and does not impact lcd or evf output as many panny cameras do
    - battery life is rubbish. I had only 1 battery with me and only lasted around 30mins continuos use. Not being able to recharge in camera with the camera on really sucks. With the Blackmagic pocket I could use an external power pack to recharge internal batt and power the cam at the same time and could go on the whole day.
    - using standard profile with -5 and shadow +2 I am happy with shadow level and highlight rolloff. I still am not convinced about skin tones, I guess the Blackmagic has spoilt me in this area.
    - i cannot make timelapse function work. I just don't get it. I also tried reading the manual but all I can do is set starting time, interval and image count ( I presume you need to put 0 to have infinite takes). But then how do you actually start the function? with shutter it only takes 1 pic....
Here is a pic of my handheld rig I have been using since the GH1 ages, it gives me the flexibilty I need to move quickly and adds some mass to smooth out movement. There is an old 8mm camera pistol grip, a chest pad made out of a metal L bracket with foam and vinyl, Fotga rod with baseplate and manfrotto ballhead with quick release.
Here is a quick selection of clips from the weekend.

These are all videoframes, I think they work great, on some cases better, others worse, but can they replace taking a snap? Of course they can, would this be possible without 4k? No it wouldnt.

A gentle reminder from yesterday's CineGear expo - that there is a reason to buy from established makers and brands when supporting your (or hired) camera, rather than Steadicam knock-offs 'Powered by rubber bands' lol. Having owned a mid range, yet 'legit' Steadicam in the past, I can assure you that the torsion springs do not catastrophically fail when at full extension and load (because they are not made of rubber and wrapped around an open pulley!)...or the socket block to the vest get ripped apart by the non-centered elastic forces (as I think happened here) ...yet another example of products already out there that perhaps shouldn't be.
Goes to show that Alexa XT's or DSLR's are equally at risk when buying cheaper alternatives to Stabilizers/ gimbals/ car mounts etc.
