The GH5 is shaping up to be the best sub £2500 camera of all time. Panasonic are truly back on the map - they will shift tonnes of these in the time it takes for their competitors (at that price point) to catch up.
4k 60p will be the new prosumer baseline starting point.

I average $1 per 1000 views and have yet to earn $250 in two years lol. It is good to be monetised, though, just in case you film something extraordinary that gets a few hundred million views in a short time whereby advertisers fall over themselves to pay the top rate for a few months.
My biggest gripe are the spammy companies offering to license your video and offer you 60% - how generous of them.
To be a top earner on YouTube you generally have to appeal to the lowest common denominator; which is to have wild hair, a whacky disposition, be stunningly good looking, have a knack for tapping into the brains of the near dead, master the art of false humility and get people to feel sorry for you, be a big fat show off or any combination of those listed. There are many seriously talented folk on YouTube who get nowhere in terms of hitting a million subscribers (or even a thousand in many cases) but then that is not why they are there in the first place.
Philip Bloom has around 125,000 subscribers
Casey Neistat has around 6,125,000 subscribers
That tells you all you need to know about this world.

Filmed using a Nocticron. Are there any 4/3rds cameras already shooting 4k 60p?
That has to be the GH5 and it looks amazing on my 5k iMac. Looks like they have vastly improved skin tones and the shadows are as clean as can be.

Looks good!  What Kelvin did you end up shooting at?  Looks nice so I'll guess 6800K due to the sunset, maybe over 7k?

I suspect the wide short is a different model/brand camera.  The levels do not match.

Software optimization is a biggie. FCPX seems much faster than Adobe Premiere. If you are largely focused on complex special effects... That are beyond what can be achieved in Apple Motion, then the case for Windows may have some merit. Otherwise, not so much.
People ramble on and on about specs... But what good are great specs if real world performance is worst. In the end all those great great specs will do is consume more power... Leading to reduced battery life.

Could this be gh5 footage? Griffin Hammond is apparently working with panasonic on the gh5. YouTube says this vid is 4k60p.

I am glad that's been cleared up. Thought for a moment we might be heading for a ten page debate similar to the senor crop factor / light gathering fiasco from last year.
This is the most excited I have been about a camera that I have no intention of buying since first taking an interest in video three years ago. The GH5 was on my immediate radar before settling for the a7sii and I might well have bought it had it arrived a year earlier, or a large sum of money I was owed had arrived a year late.
I like Panasonic and hope that the GH5 is a huge success for the company and for those who buy it.
Certainly, 4k 60p will become the standard for prosumer cameras from now on and I expect that the a7riii and a7siii will both need it in order for Sony to remain on the same pitch.

ISO performance will be the most eagerly awaited aspect of this camera (for enthusiasts who love gear but don't do lighting, of which there are millions).

No young filmmaker is going to spend 4,600 dollars on a 35mm T1.5 Canon Cinema lens, as I noted above.
At least they had the decency to leave a shot in the video showing the lens and the whole rig used in the video,
which when summed costs far, FAR, more than the 80D with a kit lens.
If Canon places clear and readable texts of the lenses used on the videos used to promote other cameras, why did they not do it here?
Seems a bit too deceptive, no?

Come on cantsin that's a bit harsh don't you think?
Once I spent few minutes in the picture profile settings I got far superior color and tonalities than I could ever get with my Olympus or Nikon cameras. You can use Andrews settings to get a Canon color or adjust them to match a Fuji base and then you can use my Fuji LUTs that I posted here to get any Fuji profile you want in post!
And the reality is that it is very very very hard to find another company that offers this amount of customization for video. Especially with an 8bit codec this is a huge advantage as you also correctly mention in you last sentence.
Let's keep the conversation on the positive side...

Because integrity is so easily undermined by greed, even if the compromise is subtle. Yes, there's nothing wrong with somebody getting a side income for honestly reviewing a company's products but that's because those who do so for any length of time are given the boot. You simply don't see them anynore. Those that remain are being dishonest or simply overlooking flaws.
All cameras and lenses have flaws. You can't review every Sony, Panasonic, Nikon, Canon or Fuji camera and lens system without hitting some real bummers.
Though I own two Sony cameras, there is a hell of a lot of false worship from Sony reviewers and Artisans. I prefer to look at Mr 500 views on YouTube who has not rushed out a review with affiliate links in the race to get top search, but has given honest reviews in the past and isn't afraid to be trampled underfoot by scores of fanboys.
He will have bought, used and tested the camera for a good three months and hasn't got it 'on a loan from B&H'.
How many times do we see in the comments section a few weeks later (when the issues arise) and the uploaded says:
"Oh I don't have it anymore, it was only a loan - had no idea it would burn your house down. Perhaps Sony will fix that in a firmware update"

    Ciao!

This is a music video I shot with GH4 and G7 (both with Natural profile, saturation -5, contrast -5).
I shot it very quickly: two afternoon and an evening, one week between the 2 days of shooting and in that time I sold the GH4, so the second day of shooting was with the G7.

I shot all handheld without shoulder rig except for a part of the indoor shot with the voodoo witch, where I used a tripod while she mix the potion.
The drone scenes are shot on DJI Phantom 3 Professional (not mine, we called a pilot), which is a little too "digital" for my taste.

I used Andrew's EOSHD Pro Color for Panasonic and I'm really happy about the skin tones and the overall colors. I also used FilmConvert's Kodak Vision3 5207 with grain 20%.

    Thank you Andrew

p.s.: can you spot which is the GH4 and which is the G7?
