Yeah but the Sony's are 8-bit XAVC non-4K60 UHD cams, A9 doesn't even have log, pixel binning cams have other issues. Always some type of compromise with FF it seems..

32ms RS is definitely not a good number on a +$6K action/sports oriented camera!
But it does looks like 4K RS is always on the high end (i.e +24ms) on all these hybrid FF cams.
I guess this is an area where APS-C / Super35 still dominates (A6xxx series excluded!).

About the redesign, Tanaka said this at last year's CP+:
"Many people have enjoyed the a7S II as a video camera, but originally we designed it for stills photography users. So if we’re going to create products [specifically] for video shooters, we’ll have to modify them in the future. (...) The basic expectation is for things like 4K/60, 10-bit 4:2:2, and a lot of manufacturers are doing that right now, but I want to think in a different way and create something that goes beyond the expectations of our customers. "
I'm assuming that in order to get 4K60p / 10-bit 4:2:2 Sony has to redesign the physics of the A7 body to avoid overheating. This physical redesign is why it took them so long to release this camera and also the reason why even the latest gen Alpha bodies are still capping at 4K30 8-bit.
Really hoping the "beyond customers expectations" means some innovative tech like the Vari-ND from the FS line.. that would certainly tip the scale in the upcoming R5/R6 battle.

Personally, my interest for 1DX3 completely died down after R5 was rumoured  shortly after.
As for GFX100 vs 1DX3 vs XT4.. well 3 different sensor size cameras at 3 completely different budgets.
Again personally, above the $6K line I'd rather be looking at dedicated cine cams.. especially if RS, NDs, XLR etc are of importance to you.
XT4 definitely seems like best bang for buck at the moment, kinda like the new GH5.
But if you're into FF (even if just for stills) you still may wanna invest in another hybrid system.

On  tracking/panning fast object at 1/50 24fps you will not see rolling shutter because the motion blur will hide the RS issue. I track mtb at  (200-400 +1.4) 560mm and I have zero problem with RS. Is really unstable platform or back and forth movements that shows up. I have more problem on a horse show jumping parkour as you move back and forth and  the obstacles as they are vertical they tend to be bended....
Btw I did cover the 24h of Nürburgring for teams multiple years so I'm familiar with motorsport.

Lot more interested in the lens than body TBH. You seem to have quite the collection of epic vintage glass!

Sensor tech is cool but I'm more excited about the overall package which Sony seems to be in a lead position with Alpha series team & Alta Cine pro line features trickling down into their new: Xperia 1 II
4K60p. Venice CS. H265. 23.98FPS. Manual focus. Shutter Angle etc..

Alongside triple lens Zeiss DPAF system.

My biggest gripe with Z series was no internal Log. You also gotta go external for 10-bit & ProRes RAW. If Nikon addressed those three points and threw in 4K60p on a Mk2 they might be competing. But somehow I doubt anything is coming soon. Are there even rumors of a Mark II Z line?

You seem awfully sure of your predictions. Almost like some of you are strangely anxious to see such limitations arrive.
Against that train of thought I have one model name: 1DX mark 3.
5.5K Raw, 4K60P. FF. No crop. Full pixel readout. 10-bit. Passive cooled body.
In a few ways that camera already surpasses the C200 / C300 mk II specs.
Clearly Canon are changing strategies. They are maxing out their flagship DSLR/MILC range. Even if those limitations you speak about exist, they will basically be law of physics limitations. I don't see how that could possibly be considered pulling a "cripple hammer"?
They just announced a bunch of updates for their cine line too btw:
Canon U.S.A. Announces a Host of Firmware Updates for Professional Imaging Products
Looks like instead of crippling their consumer cams they are now looking to upgrade their cine range specs.
Surprising to finally see SDI + HDMI support on the C200. I'm really hoping they go all the way and unlock 10-bit codec.

Don't worry about the R5 bashers. Haters gonna hate. Watch em come around in couple months..
CS is a tricky subject, there are a few dedicated threads about it here. Most of them don't end well lol..
Canon is known for their warm skin tones and Reds that pop. Clog is also pretty easy to grade. RAW 14-bit is glorious.
Pleasing CS doesn't necessarily mean accurate colours though. Strangely you will often find Sony on top of color accuracy rankings.
In the real world however, Sony are often last in the CS preferences. doesn't help their WB craps out as soon as mixed lighting comes in.
That said I love Venice CS and shoot almost exclusively with the Venice LUT on my FS7.
I haven't worked with recent BM cams but generally speaking the ProRes & RAW footage from them grades beautifully.
My problem with BM is they can be unreliable cameras. Some Ursa Mini 4.6K had magenta cast issues for example. Very difficult to get rid of.

Deep Impact is a 90s flick, it was shot on 35mm film with an ARRIFLEX. Strange example to bring up in a CS discussion about digital cinema.
I wanna say CS isn't an issue in Hollywood. They shoot the flattest log or RAW footage and then send it to a pro colourist who will dial it in.
Recent Canon Cine Log tries to copy ARRI's Log C. Sony FX/FS have Venice CS. S1H/EVA1 I'd assume aim towards VariCam CS.
Those are the industry standard. On most consumer cameras, picture profiles & log follow other standards.
One of the reasons why cine cams rule imo is they can load custom LUTs and you can also paint in camera.
Very practical when you're going after a specific look and don't have time/budget to grade log/RAW footage.

I certainly remember XH1 had this very issue on launch and it was commented on a lot. I read a firmware update fixed it but I dunno for sure.
    So maybe there is hope..
