Looks like you can douche your nose with it also. Yippie LoL. Great stuff.

I don't think this is how it works.  Yes, they can probably spread, but I get the impression that viewing infected lenses as contagious and the rest of the world as sterile is missing the point.
All the articles (including that one from Zeiss) say that fungus is everywhere, in the air.  Ask yourself how the spores got to where they are in these lenses - between two glass elements with only a tiny gap between them.  I'm pretty sure that fungus spores can't move, so this is where the spore landed.
This is a fun article: https://www.uni-mainz.de/presse/13180_ENG_HTML.php
So, either you never take your camera out of the box (actually, they don't box them in a clean room - too late!) or you just store things so that they don't grow.
I'm kind of tempted to use the other ingredients as they have them in the grocery store, and whatever I post here will be useful to more people when I work out the concentrations etc.  It would be nice for this thread to be the one I was looking for, instead of the blind-leading-the-blind threads or only-half-the-information-required tutorials.

But can't take a fs7 apart and make it small. Also no idea but the next cam with autofocus and raw is c300? P4k, no af and the lot does not take photos either.
I am on the verge of getting a p4k but to really shot it stable you need to rig it up. With z6 the only rigging to be done is add the ninja Ibis should do the rest. For me it seems still the smallest package.
hybrid, continues af, Ibis, raw, in a10x15x15cm package, jfc.
Specs wise it is mind blowing. Reality not so much, yet. Let's see how the firmware updates are coming along.

    Hey Kye,
I took apart some old Nikkors and found this dude to be very straight forward. https://richardhaw.com/
For my nikkors it was quite helpfull to have the propper Japanease screwdrivers to not strip anything. Watchout for the coil?!? threading you really have to mark that stuff other wise all is lost, you will loose infinity or close focus afaik. you can always find it again but re and disasamling the Lens more then 20 times and testing for infitiy will drive you nuts, my brother in law did it, I got the lens still laying around here, perfekt for macro stuff but, hmmmm.
Keep infected glass away from the others!!!
From my point of view, it is the labour intensity that makes it only viable for better ish lenses. I cleaned a Nikkor 50 1.2 from a little fungus and it is great. Screw the coating it is all about character and bang for the buck.

    Happy fiddling.

Thanks for sharing that, what a wonderful piece.
Lots of great things to say about it, the thing I liked most about it is that it really had a strong and coherent style, fun and whimsical but also tender and genuine too.  But perhaps the greatest compliment I can pay it is that despite it being shot on a significant camera, and being shared in the thread discussing that camera, when I watched it I stopped thinking about the camera and just enjoyed it as a creative work and all thoughts of equipment dropped away.
This is the point of art, to take us to another place, right?

Very good point! It seems (on my cam) that pans up and down are smoother. Maybe right to left panning might be better. Also one could turn the camera upside down. Or shoot 4k portrait and crop the picture in post landscape :D .  It's not like I am wip panning like a crazy fool, just a tat to fast for the codec to catch up, damn.

Thanks, It might be just good enough that they will hire me again one day.
On the clip there is writing on the wall and that is just fairly jumpy, that's were I can notice it the most. Will definetly check the Video and see what I can do.

heres a stupid question: if my (slow) sensor readout runs left to right, top to bottom, is that a factor in moving the camera?
like a camera whip to the left would be going the opposite direction of the readout, so to speak, so panning to the right might look a little better?
any truth to that? this is the kind of "article" im going to write for kayleerumors lmaooo

    this is a good question
i would like a shutter readout so fast its practically global. my 5d3 raw is far from that tho...
one thing you could do, if possible, is pan as slowly as possible, and speed it up in post.
    could that help?

Yup, sounds like simple compression artifacts to me. Downscaling might make it subjectively more pleasant to look at, but won't recover any details that have been mushed. The only real solution would be to use a higher bitrate or better codec to begin with. Raw of course solves every problem, but is usually overkill. High bitrate intraframe codecs are ideal for fast pans, but even using a higher bitrate interframe codec would improve the image.
However, a better acquisition format doesn't fully solve the problem. If you distribute on a streaming service, then it will be compressed into mush, whether you shot in Raw or not. The delivery format is often the limiting factor these days.

    Hey Guys and Kaylee,
so I am adding the finishing touches to my first "proper" coorperate image clip, man what a cluster fuck but still fun and quite a steep learning curve on every level, communication wise, shooting and editing aswell.
To get to the point. Some clips I have shot espacially ones where tripod panning it feels like I am back in Canon t2i country resolution wise. On top of that I have shot the pans in 50p and when rolling in 25p it seems fairly choppy, slowmo seems to sober it up abit. I was wondering if someone has a trick for Resolve to even out the chops? Further would the precieved resolution los (maybe just motion blur?) be less when shooting in raw as the compression can't really handle it and mushes it up?
Just in general I am trying to get to grips with how it works as pretty much all the glide cam shots i did seem to be super smooth (as in not choppy) AND sharp but they are not straight pans. Is it a sensor readout problem?
Anyway maybe so can enlighten me a bit, cheers.

Downscaling is essentially adding a blur to your image. It might help reduce compression artifacts--if that is indeed what you are seeing, that was just my first guess without having seen the image itself. You might get better mileage out of a directional blur rather than downscaling.

I don't think so, but motion judder is less evident on small screens, that's why while I'm filming on the d800 everything looks great, but once I open it on my computer I have to puke because of what nikon does with it's crappy codec.
You could buy an eos m for 80€ and try raw, looks pretty good if you aim for 1080p.

@DBounce this looks really cool. Excuse my ignorance with these new fangled gadgets, but I assume you set the marks before hand and the slider hits them?
Something like this is really appealing to me. I started as an actor, then screenwriter, but as a poor filmmaker it is often difficult to get actors, at the rates I can afford. With something like this, I could be in my own movie... talk about the ultimate one man band filmmaking. Makes me want to grab a 5D4. Lol.
I assume that set up is pretty pricey, though?
On another note, I think you have a pretty good screen presence but I’m unsure of your goal. I know you’re a hobbyist, but do you want to make narratives? Family videos? Build a YouTube channel? I mean, what’s your end game?
I’ll also add... I still think I prefer your Canon work... particularly the 1DXii and C200. The Fuji videos looked pretty good as well. Nikon... I don’t know. Maybe too early to tell.
    Anyway, thanks for posting.

Haven't thought of it, buying a 18-80, you can put it in everything with an adapter? And what about the electronics and stabilization?
@Django I love the cheap CN-E, but it is bogus, at least, to call the 14-30mm expensive (while the Sony 16-35 is more expensive) and the cheap CN-Es are 10.000€ for the 2 (18-80 & 70-200) while in reality they are more an advanced and improved EF version, than real cine lenses.
And the MK lenses, have no electronics inside whatsoever, which is sad, and unpractical, at least.
These are reasons that Sony dominates the video market these days, offering ultra cheap 18-110mm video optimized lenses that fit ALL their cameras, and while in reality they are worst than the aforementioned lenses, overal they are a best buy choice, matching well their FS cameras.

Yep. Honestly my Canons often over heat shooting in direct sun here in AUS on a hot day shooting stock firmware. When I shoot Raw they don't get noticeably any hotter than otherwise and if we are to believe the ML team; less processing with Raw should actually generate less heat.

Canon don't include Raw because they don't want to and if we are to seriously believe they can't (and can't do it reliably) but a team of part time hackers can reverse engineer their whole system to do it... I don't know whether I should really support such ignorance.

    My 2cents.

Yeah the 5D3 and ML Raw shoots continuous 1080p 14bit Raw. Since I shoot narratives, I’ve never recorded super long takes but I have shot upwards of 5 minutes without any hiccups.

I suppose that's the issue when it comes to disagreements about music when you have so many guns around.
To paraphrase a British comedian on the issue....
You sent us Elvis Presley and we took him to our hearts, we sent you John Lennon and you shot him.
Speaking of comedians, I think Chris Rock had a great idea to enable people to still own guns but reduce the number of "heat of the moment" murders by charging $5000 each for the bullets on the basis that you would really have to be mad at someone to waste $5000 on them

hansel reacted to Danyyyel in Nikon Z6 / Z7 to go RAW with Atomos Ninja V - could Panasonic be next?
Sincerely, people should chill out a bit. We are getting a Full Frame raw 4k camera, with very very very very  good low light, dynamic range, auto focus, IBis, viewfinder etc for 2700 USD. Less if you buy the complete filmmaker kit. There is nothing remotely close to that and people are still complaining. What is small enough for people these days. The Z6 Ninja V combo is smaller than my d7100 Dslr and a Flash. When you see the amount of active cooling something like the Pocket 4k needs for a sensor that is 1/4 of the Z6 people have to be a bit realistic. Another thing to consider is a user of a Ninja Flame, having an external recorder like this brings so much functionality for focusing, previewing and exposure tools that go so much beyond just a recorder.
