Huawei puts backdoors in their phones. It's a poor choice to trust such a device with any valuable account information. I won't miss them. And frankly I'm glad to see that the government took action to protect consumers and security.

Its not just calibration. Many people watch these tv series on their phones and tablets. If they are OLED, their max brightness is very low (how many of total mobile viewers have Samsung flagships?), and if they are LCD, glowing blacks make the whole thing horribly flat at max brightness. And then we have compression issues. In dragon fighting scene, it was like watching a 9gag clip in its gif days! 

And we're supposed to "see" the damn signature. 

I watched the episode with the brightness from my TV set to maximum and in may scenes I cold barely see what was happening. I have a strong feeling the cost of light bulbs is so expensive nowadays that blockbuster films simply don't have the budget for proper light anymore. ?

I love how he claims it's the iPads and everything else fault. 
So, if you can't watch it on an iPad, with factory calibrated screen, covering DCI P3, working with variable frame rate to match the content, offering over 500 nit brightness and extremely good contrast what should we get? 4000$ HDR Oled Screens? 

In the end it was just too dark and HBO made it even worse with their crappy compression. Get your content delivery sorted and then start blaming customers!

This is sad news and maybe premature, but in my opinion all the new full frame systems all have strategic flaws.
The BCN numbers are out in Japan which show a limp launch for all the new full frame systems, followed by a tanking of sales soon afterwards until they're a fraction of the Sony A7 III. The bottom line quite literally is that Canon and Nikon are failing to take business away from Sony in the full frame mirrorless market (at least if Japan is anything to go by).

That's really weird. Makes you think Leica doesn't want non Leica lenses on their cameras, and have asked their "partner" not to allow it. Perhaps it's how they intend to keep the Leica brand "premium?" 
Frankly it seems rather short sighted. And it'd be nuts if it extended to actual L-mount lenses made by Panasonic and Sigma. But maybe that's the only way to have been able to use the L-mount on their new cameras? If that's the case though, I'm not sure why you even bother and just don't make your own new mount? 

Still external, still crap ergonomics with a recorder, still a wobbly HDMI cable.

Nikon Z is underrated... It has a lot more to offer & curios about the coming firmware update and other z's like z5 or 9...  Imagine the shitstorm if Nikon had 4K crop!

I don't usually get annoyed about cameras,  but this is beyond ridiculous now.
I think if you primarily shoot video, then forget about Canon. At every single price point, overall the competition offers far more attractive packages. 
There's always some baffling omission or lack of compulsory features that ruin every release....
"New 4k full frame but you can't use our class leading DPAF in the best video mode! The 4k isn't full frame either. The price is very low but the lenses are twice the price! Wanna buy?"

This is getting old. I don't know who to be more annoyed with, Canon or myself for expecting them to come to their senses. We should all know better by now.

My comment may be off topic, but it seems to me the Z6 with the Ninja V and the Apple ProRes Raw codec is the most intriguing hybrid Full Frame option for video. I’m looking forward to Andrew and other filmmakers trying this option and giving their feedback from use in the field. I’ve been hesitant to use an external recorder, but the option of having RAW files and a recording time limit constrained only by the size of your SSD and chosen codec seems pretty appealing. 

Sony has developed a duo of 8K capable full frame sensors, which will soon be released in two Sony cameras.
