Its done as in recorded and ready. Just never seem to have time to edit and do the voice over.
But yes. Its a very good camera. I would say its for those that want a C300ii or FS7 but cant afford it.
Or because you want one of the many LS300 features those two camera don't have.

A small update to B&H modding: I’ve been using the silver Series VII ring that comes on the back of most B&H’s found on eBay.  I made a polyurethane version for Tito since his did not come with one.  The ring is great for adapting to whatever taking lens you’re using.
On a whim I decided to take off the silver ring to see if I could get my Helios any closer to the back of the anamorphic.  Here’s the back of the B&H without the silver ring.

Since my Helios has a diameter of less than 61mm (which is the inner diameter of my support bracket), I was able to slide it closer so that the back of the B&H is actually sitting inside the taking lens.

So the series VII ring isn’t necessarily needed in all situations. It doesn’t necessarily improve the resulting image either, but it is a snug fit.

In other cases, like if you have a taking lens with a 72mm thread, I would definitely recommend a 72mm-to-S7 adapter to ensure that your lenses are locked, light-sealed, and centered.
On Tito’s advice, I also took a 3D file for a follow focus ring, altered it, and fit it around the helicoid of my B&H mods.  It’s a much easier process than hand-gluing focus strips, and the results are a little nicer looking too.

    Cheers,

Just because I'm curious, I did a bit of digging into how much the total cost would be practically speaking. As we all know the body itself is merely the start of the costs!

A common big big cost with these professional cameras is memory, Arri Alexa Classic uses SxS cards. Even the oldest SxS cards secondhand are "cheap" but very expensive if you're used to SD card pricing! And older SxS cards are no good in an Arri Alexa as they can't handle the full capabilities of the Arri Alexa Classic of 2K 4:3 ProRes 444:
    https://www.arri.com/fileadmin/media/arri.com/camera/Digital_Cameras/Camera_Comparison/SUP_11_Data_Rates_ALEXA_Classic_and_XT.pdf
But you probably wouldn't be buying a 4:3 version, rather the 16:9 version which would tend to be cheaper. In that case, the data rate is lower, might be able to get away with the older SxS cards? (even I have a couple, came along for free with my Sony F3! However.... an Arri Alexa would need several more! As you'd be filling them up too fast)
But it just the target rate listed in that PDF, and not the max rate. Thus these older SxS cards could not work if they get maxed out, but... this adapter for SxS cards using cheap SD cards (such as any of the many fast SD cards many of us have for our BMPCCs!) can do up to 480MB/s, which gives a bit more head room.
    https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/786662-REG/Sonnet_SD_SXS_E34_SDHC_Adapter_for_SxS.html
However... not much more head room! So if that isn't enough, can always get this instead:
    https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/840666-REG/Sony_QDA_EX1_SC1_XQD_ExpressCard_Adapter.html

Yes, it is XQD cards which are much more expensive than SD cards!  But XQD cards are heaps heaps cheaper than SxS Pro cards!! :-D Plus XQD cards have came down in price a lot lately, and I expect XQD to drop even more in price as various more affordable cameras come to market that use XQD (FS5/D500/D5/etc).
They're already more affordable than what we've paid for SD cards in the very recent past (I paid more for my BMPCC cards when I bought them):
    https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1261721-REG/sony_qdg128e_j_128gb_xqd_g_e_memory_card.html
And you can be sure these XQD cards are way way faster than needed for 2K ProRes 444.
They've been tested in the Sony F5/F55 (which also uses SxS cards, and needs very fast cards):
    http://www.hingsberg.com/index.php/2013/12/xqd-cards-for-sony-f5-f55/
Thus that is media "solved" in an affordable way! Thousands saved here.

However the really big sticking point is lenses! Even "cheap" PL lenses can cost a fortune.  And if one of us was to be mad enough to buy an Arri Alexa, we sadly might not have anything left over to buy PL lenses..... could we use our existing lenses? A Nikon F mount would be ideal in my eyes, and I've done some digging but failed to turn up anything There might maybe exist a very rare copy or two of Arri Alexas that have been modded (Panavised Alexas are the obvious more common example), but basically it seems not to be an option for us. Arri Amira & Mini do have common options for adapters to use Nikon F mount lenses and other options, but of course those are much *much* more recent cameras and would cost a lot more to buy either an Amira or Mini!
So hmmmm.... what to do?? Seems any Arri Alexa purchase would require also getting a set of Sony CineAlta PL / XEEN / PL modded stills lenses (such as GL Optics) / SLR Magic PL / RED lenses on the "cheap" to use with the camera, which a working set could easily run up to another ten thousand give or take a few thousand either side.

Either that or wait for an Amira or Mini to fall down in price far enough to become "affordable", which would be a very looooong wait indeed!

Edit: hmmmm..... I stumbled across this, but any more info is sadly lacking! But just maybe maaaaybe....  does an aftermarket Nikon F mount for the Arri Alexa Classic exist that can be added on by the user??
    https://web.archive.org/web/20120321192849/http://www.hotrodcameras.com/?p=3728
    Then I found this:
    http://cinescopophilia.com/hot-rod-cameras-2012-roadmap-includes-nikoncine-alexa-mount/
But now the trail runs cold :-/

If this can be found then it would shave thousands and thousands of dollars off the total outlay cost for a DSLR shooter to step up and buy a secondhand Arri Alexa Classic!

Edit 2: Hooray!!! Have found now THE ANSWER!! This mod exists:
    http://www.leitax.com/conversion/Cine/Alexa/index.html
    Can buy it here:

The biggest issue with life is that there is no structures, no resolution, no ending.
    There is no order.
It's a mass of complete randomness, where being good or bad does not matter.  Some times you get caught, some times you don't.
Just an endless mess, floating in space, a turtle's hallucination.
Vs film - a good film - it takes you on an emotional complex journey - a window into characters that are interconnected and with emotions and ideas that matter.
    It all matters in there.
A good film can be better than life itself, just like a good book, a good video game - an experience that elevates you to another place.
With the scam chapter on this camera nerd site not closed - it will never be closed.
It will continue forever.  There will never be a resolution.  The scam artist will not learn his lesson and become a good human being.
Life is strangly unwritten and messy and frustrating and we're all just floating around in it.  Never to know what we should have done better.

But because of this segmentation, some consumers (such as myself) are not purchasing Canon bodies. Yes, I could invest into the cinema line, but I'd paying more for the equivalent I get in Sony and I lose the stills capability.
The segment that Canon is choosing to ignore is the hybrid shooter out there who has a need for sophisticated video features. Sony (and Panasonic to a lesser degree) is exploiting this segment because of it.
Yes, Sony products are far from perfect. But where else can you get a full frame, 4k camera with video assist features and log that can competently shoot stills? Is that too much to ask in 2016? Is that too much to ask from Canon?

Doesn't change the fact that it's poor customer service.
You're right, people should expect Canon to not pander to their lobbying. Live with Canon's shoddy response or shift loyalties to another company.
Canon's ecosystem is keeping customers around but the more they continue to underwhelm and the more that competing companies innovate and address peoples needs, it's inevitable they're going to see some attrition over time.
But let's admit it, to not add a line of code to provide peaking and zebras is just a bitch-slap to the face.

Yeah, but EF-S lenses won't be able to mount, and for anyone who needs to shoot wider than 24mm and faster than f4, you are SOL. The widest you can go is ~24mm equivalent on the 14mm f/2.8L. Yes there are 3rd party options but I don't think they'll stand up... I love the Tokina 11-16 for time lapses and wide safety shots but I would definitely not use it on a 4k hero shot at f/2.8.

Redstan has an adaptor which you attach to the back of the Iscorama54 & you can then mount it on rails. However, someone who bought one told me that it doesn't attach to the taking lens properly - so might not be a problem for you.
    http://www.redstan.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=33&product_id=63
Personally, I use a Zacuto lens mount that has a system to clamp it securely down, but I would never leave it like that without attaching it to a taking lens.
The 54 weighs 1kg & you'll need something robust to keep it secure on rails - I just think that it's too heavy (& expensive) to have it free standing on its own. Safety first?

I bought this lens just curious about the 1.5x~2x.  But when I saw the distance scale are different from other anamorphic lens(longest is infinity).  Then found it is as SLR rangefinder(shortest is infinity).  So realize it contains a focus module.   I tried to set prime lens in focus distance, won't get clear image.  Must set to at infinity, then focusing by anamorphic lens only.  The closest focus distance actually can go under 4M.

Hi all, simple question, can't seem to find a good answer so I thought I'd just ask the knowledgeable crowd here.
So I found an Isco Video Attachment (same design as Iscorama 54, just different stretch factor).
Besides being heavy, MFD is 2m which also impacts practical shooting. I have some 82mm and 86mm diopters to use so I would like to buy a step ring.
Front filter size is 95mm. Thread pitch is larger than normal though...Does anyone know it's specifications and/or have suggestions for suitable step rings? Thanks a lot!

I wrote here, since it is something that could be helpful for 99.9% of the people here: "Dear Andy" is because I think he's the best one to talk about Panasonic cameras and all the users should be happy to read what he has to say about.
I work with those cameras and I have some great results, but I mostly shot music videos. He use them for features, where the look is less stilized then in a 3 minutes music video.

Maybe his experience and his answers are something everyone could benefit.

But of course, it is my opinion. And of course, everyone has other answers is more then welcome. No "private chat" here, just the right recognition of authority to the people that boost my way of working.

Remember that if it not was for him and Andrew I (and all the EOSHD users) would still shot videos with Canon 7D, complaining that Canon should give us a better codec, 4K, slow motion...

I personally would use the G7 as my main A camera and the GH4 as B camera , the g7 does have the better newer cleaner sensor .
I would shoot it all in 4K UHD 24 fps mp4 (internal codec is very good in 4K mode )
Natural profile saturation -5 contrast -5
    dont go over 800 iso
light your sets for about f2.8 or f2 max
G7 focus assis is great it has 2 settings I use H
I would use your Zeiss primes as they are superb lenses same glass as Zeiss Ultra Speed cinema lenses - no differance
yes use the internal camera audio as I guide track and ADR it all in post
All the above is how I shot the feature film Pandora

Guys. A few deep breaths might be helpful. Believe me, I am as angry as anyone here and I want to be compensated. Ebrahim has committed himself to do something about that in the coming day, and providing evidence of it. We shall see about that quickly enough.
Regardless, there is the issue of proportionality one how one should respond, certainly if you're not directly affected. Who decides what the 'punishment' should be and who should deliver it? I think @dhessel made some similar remarks. I feel this community (and it's administrators) can decide how to deal with the situation here. Whether that means a ban or keeping this thread on the site can be debated.
Reaching out to a large pool of strangers (Ebrahim's contacts) and dragging them into this mess might be a bit much at this point, though. But that's just my 2 cents ... (or actually $275...blegh).

I don't disagree with any of these comments. In fact, what you say is obvious on its face. My point was and still is whatever they are thinking it's not about making money. I think that is a serious mistake. It seems there's a HUGE part of the market they are totally snubbing.
There are many who would be completely satisfied with the status quo of a model...most even. But for those, for instance, would like some added features for the C100 Mk II, but simply could never dream of owning a C300 mk II--and such people are likely to jump to Sony for want of a few simple features.
I know what they've been thinking. In the light of their sales  trajectory the past years what I wonder is why they keep thinking it.

On the situiation between Ed adn ES: hopefully it will be resolved in that thread and not dominate the forum forever more!
A lesson remains: never use western union to send money for private purchases. The risk is too high.
I wasn't involved in banning Zach, and had plenty of decent chats with him, though he does come across as unstable. That meant that every single thread he waded into was derailed onto the T2i even when it was completely irrelevant. It started to negatively affect the forum as lots of threads went way off-topic and turned into arguments. I think there were enough fair warnings there TBH across a lot of topics and messages. He's actually not deleted but he is post-blocked for getting two warnings, so you can read messages. These blocks can be revoked too.
As for the community here, I think it's excellent. I've known Andrew a long, time, though we don't see a huge amount of one another I do know he's kept his passion for being an advert-free independant voice.
In fact I've been here since i had a T2i (first serious camera i had) and have learned a lot and taught some others.
Compared to many communities, I feel we have a good balance and fair moderation standards. There's no atrocious ban-hammer, but there's a sensible limit set on bad behaviour.
Here's to many more years of learning and lolz
