No, its an APS-H or x1.3 crop. The M9, M, M-E, etc, or in other words, the rest of them are full frame.

I doubt many new electronic lenses will keep the value in the future but im sure manual lenses like the zeiss and leica lenses with always have their value.

BrorSvensson reacted to Andrew Reid in The Digital Bolex just got False Color
That film is damned talented, a great find, pressing all the right emotional buttons with just images and sound alone, no words, just really nice audio/visual poetry. Loved it.
The Digital Bolex also has one of the most 'emotional' images in the same sense... incredible colour, dynamic range and a sensor size perfectly matched to pre-1980's Super 16mm vintage lenses.
I just wish the D16 cost $999 and was available in great quantity... but that in a way is not the point of it. It is a camera that has a habit of getting into a disproportionately high number of talented hands, which means they're building a really special community around it.
Also, it's one of the few cameras you can shoot jerky handheld footage with and it still looks great, for whatever reason - the CCD and global shutter having a hand in that magic motion candace of course.

    Two packages arrived today

After touching the focus ring I really found out how i missed a real manual focus lens. This fly-by-wire stuff is just not real.
Quick shot @f0.95 using the natural settings from @sgreszcz with film convert applied and some basic corrections:

The whole cam just feels good. However, I found the white balance settings pretty inaccurate for now. I had to dial in the Kelvin setting for tungsten to get appropriate colors.

BrorSvensson reacted to Andrew Reid in I am depressed by the lack of articles on this blog.
Nice sentiment but I am little bit confused why you think the problem revolves around money and monetizing the blog.
The reason I haven't been writing as many blog posts recently is because I'm demotivated to do so. Slapping some ads up won't change that.
The whole internet culture needs to change.
Due to the sheer amount of content out there, slung out in a rush, completely taking away any motivation for me to add to the pile, for people to ignore the long-form content in favour of all the small bitesized chunks of shit.
I haven't stopped blogging due to a lack of advertising revenue!!
Never sought it in the first place.
I am glad the forum is growing. In many ways, it's a good stand-in for the blog whilst I take a break.
Got the first GX85 article coming soon BTW
    Yes I know that feeling.
I believe that guys like me and Mattias are more of the cinematographer mould than the writer-director. Our strength is our feel for mood and our eye for the aesthetics of atmosphere, so when you're more of a cinematographer than an all-out filmmaker you're in need of good content to shoot, an interesting mood to create. Sometimes you might not have that content. Also I take a lot of inspiration from shooting the world immediately around me, which is why I live in an exciting capital city, however it's not inspirational to shoot the same location again and again over 5 years, especially not when that city (Berlin) has chosen to change into an ugly homogeneous gentrified hipster hell hole since when I moved here 5 years ago, and the light has been appalling due to climate change for the past 3, rarely any interesting light, weather or sunny afternoons for huge chunks of the year.
What I need to get interested in cameras and blogging again is to take my ass out of Germany and go somewhere more interesting and more inspiring, perhaps back to Asia where I did my best work with the GH2 all those years ago.
Sadly the blogging I want to do isn't as easy as just filming cats for YouTube and raving about image quality... if it was, I'd have an article ready by the end of every single day. It doesn't interest me.
When I'm not feeling it as an artist, there's no point me blogging, it would just be shit!
    Call it cinematographer's block?!

I'm no technician but do have experience.
red goes earlier on Canon, Blue goes out horribly on Sony... (Try a blue LED) And guess what, those are the tones each is known for.
I'm not sure which part of the analogue or digital pipeline is responsible for this, but do know it's what happens.
A bit of a WB tweak or a saturation drop can help. On Canon the WideDR profile is nice. Sony I don't know as I sold mine. Because it all looked blue.

I had to do it with the nx500 to level out unbalanced color. I notice it with the G7 as well but not as much. At default, the red blue and green were off. It took a few ticks down to get the colors even.

Personally I have stopped doing that. I leave the contrast alone as well. Gives me better results than "fake log".

You could probably sell it and buy a used Nikon version for the same price. That way you have aperture control on the NX1 as well as all future cameras no matter what mount.
And if you get the ND throttle you will have both aperture control and built in variable ND in the lens.

According to the tests I've seen, nothing. The A7s II has only CDAF and no PDAF so it will always focus awfully in a continuous AF situation like video with losing focus and hunting.
Maybe someone who owns the A7s II will jump in, but I would suggest you check YouTube for A7s II video AF examples.

Thanks. it's called a whoosh. I downloaded some of them (youtube, free ressource websites,..) and used them for transitions and played with time remapping for the whoosh to go with the action. I can't tell you exactly where I got this particular one as I have no clue :/

A lot of people (on numerous websites) are bashing the 20mm Sigma.
Just nuts. Forget the pixel peeping and slight distortion. It's 20mm!
It was made for low light photography and it shines on a Sony A7S ii at 3:00 in the morning.
    Have fun with it!

For music videos you could need it, especially if you shoot a story besides the playback.
I had the Pocket and now  have the Micro: the quality is similar, you could intercut them and none could tell which is which.
The Pocket has the monitor, so it is more easy to use without rig, the Micro has not, but the battery life is definitely better. With Pocket you need a lot of batteries to shoot for a day, because they last just 30-40 minutes.
For 500 dollars anyway the Pocket is a great buy.

BrorSvensson reacted to Oliver Daniel in Canon 1D X Mark II high ISO and colour performance worse than predecessor
With the C100 Mk III expected not soon after (according to schedule of previous model releases), I do not expect the 5D IV to have anything other than the addition of 4K at 24/25/30fps and PDAF for video shooters.
I expect the next C100 to only add 4K and a slightly higher bitrate, as to not ruin the C300 II (which according to my rental house is not in demand at all because of the FS7).
This sounds negative against Canon, but the fact of the matter is that their models work better than other brands at standard frame rates and overall usability. You can absolutely rely on C-series cameras for that reason.
A good comparison is the RX10II vs the XC10. The specs on the Sony are monstrous but in reality, it's a terrible camera for video. Very overpromised. It's unreliable and is awful to use due to nasty focusing. The XC10 specs don't look great, but as a video camera it works much better. It's a decent B cam for the bigger models.
Anyway, while we all waste time debating what Canon isn't doing and all that fuzz, let's look to the models that work today, which are perfectly fine for many of our needs.

I think the 4K 60p on the 1DXii gives alot of hope for 4K 30p on the 5Div... It is a nice, clear product separator
Without c-log though, i'll likely buy neither, unless ML can get something going.
