    Maybe they will have 8bit 4K and 10bit 1080p?
I would be fine with that.... The 4K would still be good and the pristine 1080p ideal for alot of current clients

Canon are stating 15 stops DR... Same as C700 and C300 ii
On the C100 ii and C300... They state 12 stops.
It's the new sensor and that is a BIG deal
There are two things stopping this being a slam dunk .. 10 bit codec and 2K raw
    Bloody Canon!

It's not like this is the first ever raw camera.... Not really sure what the debate is here. You either work with raw like you would film (as we have with blackmagic, Canon ML etc)... you choose the 8 bit codec which will be great for most things (firmware version) or you use something like Atomos/Odyssey to capture raw to Prores 10bit.
Can't help but think that if it were Panasonic that had launched a camera with raw, this article would have a different tone.

This is the 2nd time I've seen you mention the C200 having an old sensor and one that was in the C100 ii
This is the sensor in the C700 and C300 ii... Only a year old and their best sensor ever.

Why would you buy a c200 if that is your need though?
This cam seems more like a music video, short narrative setup... Raw will be used alot.
Now... The c200 could have been an amazing run and gun... But in typical fashion, canon have ballsed it up a bit.

I do not agree with the article and I believe this camera will bring RAW much more mainstream.
95% that will buy the C200 will use the MP4 seems very unrealistic, I bet most people that will buy this camera would use the RAW format a lot and RAW will become the mainstream like it is for photos for most photographer. Storage in 2 or 3 years would be cheaper and cheaper and there will be 8-10 TB SSD for 500-600 USD...
I expect Resolve to be able to edit the Canon RAW lite soon and in real-time without any transcoding like it does for other RAW formats. Canon already states this so is just a mater of time. Btw at the beginning even the beloved GH5 format was an issue with most NLE.
1 Gbits it is a lot but I do a lot at 800 Mbits MJPG (that I edit in real-time without transcoding even from the CFast directly) and is perfectly manageable. Naturally if you are in long documentaries then maybe is not a camera for you but for the rest I bet it will be a super camera. I agree with the post above that when 1 year ago the 500 Mbits 1Dx II was labeled as insane and a year later everybody is eagerly awaiting the 400 Mbits GH5 firmware..... just fast forward one year and you will know that 1 GBits will not be that much of an issue.
Again not sure what is the point to compare a GH5 with a C200 that does 4k 60 RAW with 15 stops DR with ND filters and a great AF on CFast (super fast download to a pc because are basically SSDs). Then I could pint out that the best workflow would be an iPhone as it does 4k and you can edit directly in iMovie on the phone itself and delivery directly to the web:-) no downloading or transcoding needed.... why people use Arri or Red instead of iPhone is beyond any rationale:-)
I'm quite sure that the sensor is a new one from the C300 II or C700.
Can you do amazing stuff with the GH5? Absolutely.
Does it cost less that the C200? Absolutely.
But if people would have the budget to buy the C200 + CFast cards I'm sure nobody would hesitate one second to pick the C200 instead of the GH5. At the end is a budget problem and not a technology issue.
If the quality of the RAW is as good as I expect this camera will rival the much more expensive cinema camera out there and from canon it was not expected.....

You have to take what he says with a grain of salt... he is so anti-canon, he will pretty much believe or promote anything that puts Canon in a bad light. Without confirmation from Canon, there is probably no way to know for sure, at this point, if Canon's brand new processor is capable of 10bit or not.

Man, I suffer in silence when I read some stuff here (I guess I'm masochist to keep reading it). But this one is too much for me... On what ground do you think it should cost 2,500$ ? Please tell me. Do you know a video camera costing that price and doing this ? And don't tell me blackmagic please (fan of the brand, but their cameras aren't in the same price range and they are way less reliable and easy to use, and no autofocus, no support) Do you know  a pro 1/3 sensor camcorder costs more than 2500$ (Sony, Canon) ?. It might not be the camera for you, that I totally understand but with all due respect, I think your comment is from a spoiled naive non pro shooter who doesn't know the requirements of pro work and on being on the field with reliable equipment.
People always complain, at some point it's just ridiculous. They want new technology right away, but when Sony releases a new camera too soon, they think theirs just became obsolete and hate Sony for it. In the mean time they blame Canon for holding off. And now they unleash something very unexpected from them, still complaints. Same goes for bitrates. Canon files take too much space, now they want that kind of bitrates in their gh5, and they're suddenly ok with the file size. And all that to end up posting videos on Youtube (which is not a bad thing but just all those concerns are irrelevant for that type of delivery).
Anyway, this camera seems to be freaking great. Canon used to deliver not on specs but on the field and with the image quality/mojo. Now this one also has the specs ! Granted an intermediate codec is more than necessary for a camera at this price point, but it will come down the line anyway.
Pffiou, sorry I had to get it out of my chest  Now I can burn in hell !

There are tonnes of little details that the C300 mk2 has which always will make it more worthwhile than the C200 for some small subsection of shooters, Features such as Time Code for instance.

I have. It's ok, quite fast, small and cheap. I don't like how the manual focus works. If you are on a budget it is a good fastish* native prime to get started with if you are moving on from the native zooms.
I consider 0.95 to 1.4 to be fast on the m4/3

Just finished my 2nd round of shooting for my short. I had a little more trouble correcting these images as I shot a lot in lower light than the first round. But here are a few shots that turned out okay...

I will say that I think ML Raw has ruined me for other cameras.

I'm not so sure that this is all color grade. Little is known about the production thus far but Deakins is always adamant about shooting as much "in camera." Colored lighting is gaining a lot of popularity, especially with the advanced LED's and color control. Obviously the desert shots are over saturated to orange, but I think everything else might be motivated by existing lights in a scene. At the very least motivated by projector walls. Rogue One lit most of their space battles with giant projector walls displaying the space battle atmosphere. It looks natural, and less computer generated. I'm sure that Denis had a big influence on color as well. He might not have wanted natural skin tones running throughout. That's more of a style choice.
