Strange isn't it... Samsung tested the NX1 sensor at 6.5k @ 240 fps. I'm pretty certain 4k @ 60 fps would be no problem. So what's with all these other manufacturers? Are they truly this far behind Sammy?

Mind you, the pocket was/is a great little camera. I still feel the footage looks great. I just hated working with it... And if you hate working with something... well... you probably won't.

Impressive? All I saw was some guy that looked like he really needed to go to the bathroom. Why didn't they shoot some footage so we could determine how stable (or unstable) it came out. Ideally with two views... one of the person holding the stabilizer, the other from the camera on the stabilizer? FYI, look at the motor housings and mounting plate while the guy is moving his legs... It seems they are moving up and down pretty good. I remain skeptical. Actual footage please.

I can't say how "we" feel, however, I personally believe the new ursa mini 4.6 will be amazing in many ways... Yet frustrating to work with. I don't have any inside information, just history with the brand.

I am excited for the product, but suspect that this design won't work. Since the width of the handles will affect the vertical position of the camera it will be influenced by the proximity of the operators hands to each other... The actuation needs to be independent of the handles. Notice the design of the Jockey Motion. Articulation is isolated.

Why up-sample when they also make the A7rii which is pretty good in low light?

It remains to be seen if the A7sii will also overheat. In the interview with the Sony rep it was suggested that the A7r ii and A7s ii are identical in this respect. You need to work within the limits of the camera... And the limits of your talent. In most cases the latter will be the most important.

Surely this is a sick joke? Red should change their name to green, since that is clearly all they want from the film making community.

yes it is possible if the sensor was not fully optimized that it could be tweaked to gain performance. But that assumes there is room for further optimization.

To answer the original question... NO, Red is not about to release an "affordable" camera... That is unless you consider $15k plus accessories affordable.

It may well be. Companies often disable features and sell the dumbed down device for less money.

The 3 axis gimbal may well be in danger, but it's demise will come at the hand of the 5 axis gimbal... not this.
