  1. Well since most people can only perceive about 1 million colors and only one person has been discovered that had the wetware to perceive more, it might not matter.
  2. Looks good... Not sure about the price, but it might be worth it.
  3. I firmly believe it is in Sony's interest to reassure the market that overheating will not be a problem with this camera. It's too big of a problem to ignore.
  4. For me the elephant in the room is does it overheat?

  6. i think you might be right about wanting to steal some thunder from Sony. Funny that no one has mentioned the other camera manufacturer that will be at IBC tomorrow... Samsung.
  7. I don't think this is the only announcement. I believe they may announce the A7s replacement... And it might be a new form factor.
  8. Well if that's true the big announcement can't be a watered down FS7... So I'm gonna guess that what will be announced is two new camcorders... one of which will be the replacement for the A7s. And as some rumours have eluded, the A7s mkii will have a new form factor. In any case we only have a few days to go. http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sr4-first-possible-sony-e-mount-camcorder-specs-and-sony-will-shock-everybody-soon-with-their-new-creation/
  9. I'm sure this is a great deal... For someone, but I'm gonna pass. The Rectilux core dna seems like a better, and more reasonable option.
  10. So who exactly are they targeting with these? They better be affordable if m43 mount, because pro cameras tend to be s35 or full frame.
  11. Good news for sure, but does this mean it is now possible to edit these files directly without the need to transcode to another format?
  12. And some claim it's the right camera for landscape... http://www.richardauger.com/sony-a7rii-a-film-photographers-review/
  13. Very well could be... But where is the real Ursa Mini footage? Did Blackmagic not state the release date as the end of August? And if they miss this date, should they not issue some kind of statement... Like a normal company would? Or is it just expected that they are inept and therefore should be treated like a special needs sort of company?
  14. Samsung is developing 11k screens. Don't think they're planning on magic to create the content. http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/samsung-11k-screen-news/

"The Nebula 4200 hand held camera rig has a 32-bit 5-axis gimbal gryo with vertical / horizontal / pitch / roll / yaw." So does this mean the horizontal and vertical axis are also computer controlled. It looks like a simple spring setup in the images, but perhaps not.
  16. Actually, I would bet that 6k raw is possible. The NX1 down samples from 6k and there has to be considerable overhead in doing so. Clearly, 240 fps would not be possible, but 24 fps seems doable. Not sure about what it would take to convert a 6k image to h.265. But as crazy as it sounds, the NX1 might not be too far off.
  17. Did panasonic put it out there, or did a beta tester put it out there?
  18. My main beef is this rumor did not come from Panasonic. Should Panasonic be expected to add features and respond to every rumor on the internet? All current GH4 owners entered the purchased based upon the current spec sheet, so what is the problem? Let me right now start a rumor... Their is a "secret" GH4 firmware that can add 14bit color and 16 stops of DR. Will you be angry if it turns out these features are in a totally different camera? This really is how silly this argument is. These rumors didn't come from Pannie... They don't need to respond nor support the rumored features.
  19. To my eyes the footage looks ok. But the price puts it in the company of better options.
  20. From what I've heard the cameras used were prototype test units. Panasonic never released a beta firmware with V-Log. Also, there seems to be the assumption that if a feature can be added in firmware then it should be, as there is really no cost involved. The developers writing the code to add the new features do not work for free. So there is certainly a cost involved, but that's OK so long as it's not the consumer footing the bill right? Software features cost the manufacturer money. It's not a freebee. Makes sense to add it in a new model. Few and I do mean few companies will throw in major new features for free. There are exceptions... Samsung, please stand up.
