Here is a 3:1 compressed cDNG file straight from the pocket 4k. I believe that you can only open it in Resolve.

JSFILMZ on YouTube has uploaded some nice sample footage as either RAW or ProRes, as well as some comparisons to the GH5s which might be interesting.
The footage looks amazing after grading.

Used a BM Pocket 4K film to Rec709 conversion via CST in Resolve at the very end.

It doesn't have half the features of the GH5/GH5s,  It has different features. Taking the photo side of the GH5 out of the equation, I would say the pocket has more features for video. If you need a hybrid camera obviously the P4K is the wrong choice.

I really don't understand this way of thinking. When shooting video, the GH5s only really has AF and a tilt-able screen up it's sleeve compared to the Pocket4k (and better battery life). Yes, AF is handy for shooting home videos, and yes, I wish the Pocket4k had a tiltable screen but to call it a useless camera is pretty silly. I've used it in a run n gun situation with zero accessories and more than happy with the results. How do you get to $3000? Add a $100 monopod, a $180 AndyCine a6 and an NP-F battery (the andycine can power the P4K) or 4 more LP-E6N batteries and you have a run n gun package that will be better than any IBIS can provide. A monopod is the most underrated bit of gear by videographers. Quick to set up, lightweight, easy to carry, versatile... and better than any IBIS or OS.
While AF is nice for home videos, if you want to step up your video game, the sooner you learn to focus manually and ditch stop relying on AF the better.
Are people today born with eyes that can't see, or hands that can't turn a focus barrel? Are they all born with hand tremor? Is a camera without AF or IBIS really useless in todays world? Maybe according to you, but I'm managing to use cameras from many different manufacturers that don't have either features pretty well. In relation to IBIS, while IBIS is nice for Home videos, for anything else, i'd still recommend using a monopod with or without IBIS. Are the X-T3 or GH5s useless today because they lack IBIS? No, people will make great videos with both.

So, you're starting to add accessories? Again, I can easily add the Andycine a6 to the Pocket4K to get the tiltable screen. Speaking of adding accessories, you don't need to add any to get good audio into the P4K which you do for the GH series. So your GH5 has already gone up in price by adding the ninja star and Battery Grip. Talking about the Ninja Star, you do realise it's 1080p only right? To fairly compare to the Pocket4k you need to add the NinjaV which is $599USD. Your GH5 with NinjaV and battery grip to get audio now costs $2946USD but has the advantage of AF. The Pocket 4K with monopod and Andycine a6 cost around $1700. Will you be editing your videos? If so, you will need to add another $299 to get resolve for your GH5 making it closer to $3250.

The P4K is far easier to use than the OG Pocket you really can't compare. Far better screen and ergonomics make it possible to use handheld. The OG Pocket was way too small to be used in the hand. You really can't put the two cameras in the same category or draw any similarities to them. When I switched to Fuji for stills, I really enjoyed using the camera and this made me want to use it more. In terms of video, so far the Pocket has done the same thing for me. Small package, un fussy menus and a great screen that reward's you instantly when looking at nice shot's. I just want to use it.

It's actually less of a toy than most mirrorless cameras and I'm finding it a joy to use professional. It's far quicker to change settings on it than my X-T2 or the A7 series cameras that I have used as B-Cams before. It's by far more of a proper video tool compared to a hybrid but that's just my opinion. The workflow is not hard, you can bake LUTS in if you need quick turnaround or just use the provided BMD Rec709. I don't see how it's any slower. And if you shoot LOG on the GH5, then that still needs grading in post.
For anyone reading this, camera brand aside, if you think IBIS and AF are going to make you shoot like a pro and some how magically make your images 'cinematic' ...they won't.
'Out of the box it's useless' ....'need to spend $3000 to make it work'....... 'it's a toy'. Considering you haven't used the camera yet, these are all pretty biased and inaccurate statements that I'd expect to hear out of a Panasonic rep ?

This is a moving images capturing machine. If anyone cares for a hybrid camera is in the wrong thread. GH5S isn't a good photo taking machine either, but it takes pictures for sure. I thought this is a hard fact clearly understood by everyone already.
My hybrid cameras do ok 120fps and in 4 years I have used it just once. My favorite "money making tool", C100 do not either.
I used to work in advertising operating specialized high speed cameras, and as YOU mentioned on a little while ago, can't stand slow motion videos at all anymore! In other specilized circumstances we used to rent the FS700, as you already mentioned!
Also the AF in my pro video work consists of less than 5% (maybe less than 3%!), even though I work with very good hybrid AF and C100mkII/C300mkII cameras most of the time.
The GH AF is not something to talk about, not a strong Panasonic selling point anyway.

Ettr doesn't mean blowing highlights out though. Even doing ETTR on the GH5 to maximize dynamic range with great results. But when I can I center the histogram/waveform to make better use of the baked in gamma curve - which is irrelevant on raw though

38 Seconds of footage from the Pocket 4K. Just initial test. Will have a lot more soon! I will make this private in a bit but it's for those that wanted a bit of footage from Day 1. I'm not fan of the shakiness since we didn't have the appropriate gear, nor did we have the Wireless FF.

DNG 3:1. 24fps and 60/24fps, there’s some light DNR on some of the clips.
Sigma 18-35mm Nikon with a Hoya ProND 8 (I put this on and forgot I had it on for the whole duration). Viltrox Nikon to m43 version. Ronin-S.
4th Axis Stabilizer (Didn’t know how to set the tension at this point, next clips will be better!). Light warp on the beach clips.

@tidefilm uploaded some footage from the Pocket 4K and the GH5s for a dynamic range comparison he did here.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOtGVgeK_Dc

Downloaded the RAW clips and compared them by matching them, adding some chroma temporal noise reduction and some slight blur to make it look less digital.
Honestly the Pocket4K destroys the GH5s. It's not even fair.
Turns out you may see the infamous horizontal noise pattern on the GH5s not only using VFR.

The highlights in general are better on the pocket, but that’s mostly because of the RAW. Not sure I said the DR in general itself was miles ahead. I am going to run some tests in better lighting and hopefully I’ll be able to share. Both great cameras.

I have conducted a bunch of tests comparing shots between the XT-3 and the Pocket 4k, which unfortunately I can't share because they are of my wife and she won't let me post them online. I will see if I can do some shots of other folks whom are comfortable having video of them shared online. But for now I can give a bit of insight with my findings. The highlight retention/roll off of the Pocket 4k is miles ahead of the XT-3. Having the ability to have RAW, is also miles ahead of the XT-3. Both of these are obvious to me and I pretty much knew them going in. I think we all knew this. The colors straight out of the camera, again, blackmagic wins. So is the obvious choice the Blackmagic Pocket 4k? No. Keep reading...
After all that, the combination of a more organic/slightly softer looking image and much MUCH smoother motion cadence of the Fuji XT-3, make it look more cinematic, with less work. When both cameras are out of harsh light, I prefer the video of the XT-3. Just the way the movement looks is immediately apparent and almost jarring. I know a lot has been talked about whether the pocket 4k is the same sensor of the GH5 or not, personally I am not here to say it is or it isn't, but the actual movement (motion cadence) reminded me of my old GH5. You can soften the video all you want, add grain, but tweaking motion cadence is not an easy thing. So I really value the way the motion looks.
With both arguments out there, I still don't see it as a clear choice for the XT-3 or Pocket 4k, unless you start factoring what you want out of it. If you do gimbal work, the XT-3 is hands down a better choice with its great auto focus. If you need RAW, then you don't even need to read or bother with your choice and I am not sure why you even read this far, the Pocket 4k is your choice. Screen on the pocket 4k is amazing, fujis is small and harder to use. But, you can use a small Ninja on the Fuji and record prores. With the Pocket 4k, unless you are using CFAST, you will need to mount an SSD on a cage. So with either one, chances are you will have either an ssd or monitor on top of it.  I prefer having a monitor on top, because thats an added bonus of easier to focus and choose angles.
Here is where I stand. I shoot video and do photography, pretty much 50/50. The specs of the pocket 4k blow my mind. They are amazing. But, for what I do, I am not sure if its worth having 2 cameras, 1 for photography and 1 for video, which means more gear I need to carry - as opposed to just my Fuji to do both.I bought the pocket 4k to see if it would blow my mind. It has impressed me, but has not blown my mind. I lose some, no RAW, not as great of a color science, and far better codecs. But, I also gain some with the Fuji, smaller body, easier to balance on gimbal, autofocus for gimbals, and no need to lug around 2 cameras and more lenses for each system. This last argument is whats making it harder to just keep both. The fuji regardless is staying, because its my main photography camera. Its a keep the fuji or keep both choice for me.
I am going to do more tests once the sun goes down a bit and see how they fair outside of the harsh light I tested today. Right now, I am leaning toward sending the pocket 4k back, just to simplify things. When I have too much gear , over stimulated/whelmed with choices - I end up NOT being creative. This is why I have always liked hybrids as a photographer, the camera is always on you and ready to shoot video when you need.
    Decisions, Decisions...
I am open to answering any questions on either camera.

Kye, I'm afraid I have not too usable advice about VFR modes - so far I'm not using slow motion for my needs, except very rarely 60p, and that just because of better stabilization or exposure controlling usage - saying that, as far as I know you can use HLG mod in 60p... But I'm sure Jon Pais have all answers.
As I already mentioned, I tend to treat any camera as much as possible as base cinema type with as low as possible bothering with settings - even thinking about AF buttons looks too complicated to me (besides being uninspiring)... Just set ISO and WB, HLG without bothering with lowering sharpening and NR and other settings, as often as possible just 24p, always MF lenses, etc. - sparing all precious time/concentration for evaluating composition of image. And enjoying/trying to master manual focusing precision... that's I'm always shooting with Atomos recorders and why level of smoothness and extremely precise linear focusing respond are, for me, the most important feature searched in lenses.
What I missed from BM cameras is corrective advantage of raw files. 10bit image of GH5 offer indeed great and enough flexibility in post, however you have to think about close-to-proper WB... but I tend not to think about anything, just about picture in front of me.
In GH5 you are safe up to iso 1600 although in dark conditions there are always some grains above iso 400 but it is very fine and often even desirable. BTW after all talks and personal testing, for me that's where finished GH5s difference - in GH5s you are safe up to iso 3200... of course, I'm talking about aesthetically and professionally most demanding shooting scenarios. Some kind of NR can spread range in one stop above respectively... Internal GH5s NR becomes too aggressive above iso 3200 and image, especially with humans, looks too cheap and plastic.
Color science... GHa is a little marvel of devotion and knowledge. Combine it with Resolve's precise grading instruments and you can mimic quality of look of any high end cinema camera for exporting in HD resolution. That's one of the wonderful example when progress in technical side of simulation capability (anatomy of color, digital achievements in providing its impressions) and person's know-how, beat market position. Yes, today you can shoot totally competitive movie with GH5, as also with Fuji XX or Sony A7iii or Canon-Mercer etc..
If you are UK located, I've found that Ex-Pro newer type of battery (those with bigger capacity) are perfect for replacing original one, as also for Sony battery for Atomos recorders...
(And in UK you can buy new GH5s for about 1850-1900e at the moment, GH5 for 1380, order Pocket 4K for 1350e...)
EDIT: As idea, if you already didn't find it - you can map all important settings just in joystick's positions! I don't know if it is possible with other cameras, but that's  so great for lazy persons like me...

I bought the XT-3 recently and then today randomly found a pocket 4k in stock, so I said why not try em both! The XT-3 is my photography camera as well, so its here to stay. The pocket 4k is in a weird spot. I have been eyeing it since April and the initial footage didn't impress me, but in the last week or so there has been some better footage.  I am going to test out the pocket 4k and see if it has a place in my setup as well. I do like the idea of a separate camera for just video, that I can keep in cage, partially rigged up, etc.
Financially speaking, I am invested in Fuji for the future, which feels good, because I really like what they are doing and I like their future. I plan on testing both cameras this weekend, grading them, trying similar shots to see how they look, see how they both handle, etc. and then make my decision if I will even bother keeping the pocket 4k. Everything for the pocket 4k is returnable, including the lenses (bought from amazon today) so it will be a simple few clicks of a button to go back to only Fuji.

I'm looking into possibly bringing EC to the P4K; in that case, I'll be able to do just that. The two with EC will have identical color (under daylight or tungsten), because at the core is a measured LogC color science conversion (in contrast with a look). Additionally, I may do conversions to go between the P4K and the GH5, to make them interchangeable.
