Another nail in the Ursa Mini coffin (at least in my view), yesterday in forum discussions about corrupt clips it came to light that Ursa Minis no longer officially support Windows 7 and it was heavily implied reading Ursa footage on Windows 7 could possibly lead to clips becoming corrupted, due to the way Firmware 4's file system works.

And thus I have completely stopped considering a Blackmagic product as the successor to BMCC. Time to look elsewhere.

Why do you still use Windows 7 anyway? That OS came out in 2009 it's 2016 already. Upgrade.

its a supersmall photocamera that shoots additional 4k video. It overheats when shooting long clips. If you want a video camera that doesnt overheat buy a big body video camera.

If they are putting more video qualities in a camera it's a small video camera that shoots pics. And for something that's going to be close to 2k priced it should be able to shoot more than 45min.

Some f/.95 SLR Magic or Voigtlander's might do you a fair it of good with the GH4, or upcoming GH5. If the GH5 has a stop better noise performance, will these ultra fast lens fit the bill for you?

I disqualify the Sony A7x options, even though their low light is great, the sensor overheating issues are a dealbreaker. I also disqualify the Canon 5D because of the codec and the C100 because of the price. Now if you were going to drop 5D Mark IV coin, then the Sony F5 is on the table.

The Canon C100 Mark ii is going for 2999-3500 now days.

Unfortunately, looks like that no IBIS on the GH5 - IBIS was extensively mentioned in the G80 announcement, and since IBIS had disappeared in the last rumors about the GH5 (and the rumours are right in almost all of the other features), I guess that no IBIS in the camera.

Maybe the line of thought (or line of excuse) from Panasonic is that this is a "camera for professionals" (it was very highlighted in the press conference, mentioned a lot of times: GH5 is the professional camera, the G80 is for enthusiasts); no other "professional" cameras (Canon's C-line, Red, Blackmagic, Arri..) have IBIS,and they will probably say that professionals could get better results with gimbals or steadicams (not that I agree with them). "Oh, run and gun"? Use the G80 or the new FZ2500 (which even have V-log now as a paid upgrade). That will probably be their excuse (the real reason could be avoiding any more heat around the sensor - the camera still have no fans).

If they are right or not, only time will tell.

I think that the sensor is not new too - it's the same 20mp sensor from Sony. Albeit with some improvements (the sensor is in the E-M1 MKII and Olympus are saying that it have a 1-stop gain). The press release mentioned "6K photo (18mp)", that is the marketing gimmic that I mentioned some posts ago.

Apart from that, the camera looks awesome. And the joystick to change the focal point is very interesting for stills (and was a surprise).

I'm pretty sure it will have IBIS. They announce everything that is not on the other Panasonic cameras currently to get a wow factor. And they said (And More) after the features they listed.

So Panasonic is going to crush the everything they sell under $25,000 at the three year old GH4's price?

    SMH.

Anyone expecting the spec bouncing around this thread at the GH4's price is delusional.

So let me get this straight, Panny is going to release a camera that kills the FS5, C100 and pretty much everything under $5000, and they're going to sell it for $1500? Instead of selling it for $5000?

Jeezus this board doesn't live in the real world, might as well bring Ebrahim back to tell tall tales about Canon colors.

So you're saying panny isn't going to put everything that's in the GX85 cam into the GH5? How would it kill the FS5? Thats the same as saying people would buy a 5d4 instead of a c100 mark ii. :dizzy:

The overhype machine is churning at full speed. Prepare to be letdown. 10-bit 4:2:2 and IBIS in a $1500 body ain't happening. That's a $3000 camera, if not a $5000 camera.

Prepare for 5d4 levels of disappointment.

Oh I thought you wheren't disappointed on the 5d4 .  You're going to hate when they come out with those specs at 1500-1600 dollars. Because you spent your money on Canon all over again.

As long as the 1080P footage is sharp, I'm not too concerned about the 4K crop factor. I still rarely if ever shoot in 4K, and really have no desire to for as long as I can help it. 4 years from now might be a different story of course but as a hybrid stills/video (mostly stills) shooter this camera ticks a lot of boxes for me.

Get a C100 mark ii if you don't desire 4k.

I haven't been let down at all, don't know what the hell your warped analogy is supposed to mean. Canon had the first 4k DSLR, they have the best video/live view AF, and they now have the first 4k/60p DSLR. Plus they have the best Native lens lineup and shooting ergonomics nailed, something Sony really needs to revise with future a7 bodies. If you're looking for a hybrid body, the 5d4 spec looks really good. As always I'll reserve judgment until actual samples are available.

I guess if people on this board keep saying Canon doesn't innovate and the image sucks, one day it might actually be true.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. But the only thing that keep canon relevant on the dslr video side is ML. Without them people would've been jumped ship.

Is there any confirmation of a 4k crop? I see all this talk about it, but nothing based on actual information.

Have you used dual pixel? It can pull focus better than you can with a fly by wire lens. The Canon will have better DR as well, and vastly superior stills. AF will be in another league. I'd take the rumored 5d4 over a boosted GH4. YMMV.

You've been let down for 10 years from Canon and you're still hanging on like the battered women syndrome.  Hoping for something better but you're still getting beat on and left with second hand love. *shakes head*

I own a GH4, after Andy's advice I've bought a G7 and in 4K is really better! Of course the 50p of GH4 has some more informations, but G7 is a really great camera, really better in low light.

I have a Gh3 and Gh4. Was really thinking of offloading everything for 3 G7's. Hearing a lot of good things on the lowlight and picture quality on the camera.
