Still don't understand the purpose of making another camera that can't shoot for over 20-30min w/o overheating. *shakes head*
-
I might get some heat for this but I am pretty sure some of their samples are faked. The kickstarter video, you can see some before and after videos (the girl running) are shot with 2 different cameras at a slight different angle.
Also, if you've ever warp stabilized really shaky video, you get some artifacts due to blur from camera shake and rolling shutter. You just can't stabilize the frames with that level of crispness if you don't have crisp frames to begin with. Undoubtedly, if they have a real product, it will be of some use, but they are making it seem like you can replicate what a 3-axis gimbal can do with this little device and software. My guess is, it will be slightly better than warp stabilizer, with the same artifacts.
Or maybe it actually works and it will save a lot of people money on not buying a overpriced gimbal.

So it's time to sell off my Panny 12-35 2.8 and get a Sigma 18-35 1.8 with a MB.

You could get the new Lumix 42.5mm f/1.7, it has OIS and is quite nice (I need to find some time for some testing!).
What kind of slider is that?
-
Never had a reason to think the Sigma 18-35mm wasn't accurate at f/1.8. I see a significant difference between it and my Sigma 50-150mm f/2.8 wide open. As it happens I'm selling both of these lenses at the moment. Nikon mount versions.
Why are you selling the lens?

1 year too late. I'm sure Panasonic will release a forward thinking camera this year that will render the Canon competitor irrelevant.

Sony's A6000 is so much better than GH4 as a stills camera.
I'm pretty sure that it is very close in video as well and all that for less than half the price!
Sony is gonna say good bye and get past everybody else pretty soon...
Umm no. -
I got a 45 1.8 Oly and I'm getting a 35-100 Pany next
I have a 12-35 as well. And some vintage glass. Looking for a good speed adapter for glass.

Links not working

I have a Nikon 50 1.4 Nikkor-S. Would the focal reducer work with it?
This one was in his store.

Which Voigtlander was it? Was thinking of getting one next week for my gh4.

Interesting. Thanks for the feedback. Maybe anamorphic would be the way to go but are there inexpensive (relatively) ones to be had? There is a reason well-made documentaries and movies tend to use some of the same/similar camera bodies. I personally am liking the a7s so far, but some gh4 footage does look pretty incredible.
Not sure if either trump 5d3 ML raw
on paper: gh4
gut: a7s
overall: ML raw?
Why do people keep comparing ML raw when it's not stable in any way.
Gh4 is out the box stable. I would never do a paid gig banking on ML raw.

:D And so it begins.

I'm new to my Gh3 and soon to be gh4. I was a previous canon owner and sold most of my things and I have a Rokinon 35mm t1.5 and would love to use it with my Lumix gear. Is their a speed booster and adapter I could get for this?
-
Not to hijack the thread, but that is an erroneous statement. A better way of putting it would be, the gh4 does a lot of things better then the c100, however it also DOESN'T do a lot of things better than the c100. For instance, Light an interview properly, setup both cameras and the end result will give the nod to the c100. Better yet, set the gh4 to 4k mode for that interview and transcode the full image to 1080(because that is what you will need to match the detail level of the non de-bayered canon) and after changing the memory card about 10 times and going through the headaches of backing up, transferring, transcoding that kind of data, I would still say the C100 would result in a more pleasing final image. Just so folks know, I'm not talking about data rates, dynamic range or actual resolution when I refer to image detail. Unlike what most other cameras are doing, Canon's cinema line does not de-bayer the raw image stream the same way most dslr, gh3, gh4, 5d, fs700, bmcc, bmpc does.
The c100 also gets a nod when examining the efficiency overall (built in xlr, neutral density, battery life, s35 sensor) and let's not forget some pretty spiffy low light performance :)
For a portable 4k aquisition tool, and cost, huge thumbs up for the GH4! For interviews, documentary work, events, weddings, large volume broll shooting. Big thumbs down. Not that it couldn't work for those demographics, but I see the c100 as an efficient tool that really does make life a lot easier for a lot of filmmakers. 2 different tools meant for different things I guess
I would love to get a C100 but I don't want to invest in a camera that's still overpriced and is three years old. While it has two more systems that has came after it and that are overpriced too. 5k for a system that doesn't even shoot 60fps. No Thanks.

I hope that you are also able to edit the profiles, any idea if you can? Or any indication of how far you can push the custom profile? (As I know this camera has Master Pedestal, something I haven't used since the Canon XHA1!).
As a GH3 owner, the more I see of this camera the more my GH3 is likely to be on eBay!
Keep the gh3 and use it as a second body. That's what i'm going to do.

Canon is always late to the party that's why i made the switch to the gh3. They'll stay promising like they always do.

Was looking to get the GH3 Shooters guide but the price is up to 29.99 in the link from 19.99 that was listed on the pinned thread. Is this a misprint?
