    Cool, thanks for reporting.

Ordered mine via their $100 off when you trade in an old camera. I literally bough a $10 10 year old compact camera, sent it (prepaid label) to GoPro and I am getting it for $299. This rocks.

Just because you said something positive about me I did it ; It's 0.85KG on the scale . @Emanuel

BTW no one speaks about this on the web but did you notice ???
Price rise on DJI.com, in US and also Europe. 50$ more for the drone, 60$ more the fly more pack, ND filters, batteries, everything is more expensive. I thought about Trump taxes at first but since the rise also happens in EUR I do not know... Anyway happy I got it for the previous price.
    Very surprising still.

Panasonic and Sigma ones will be normal priced. Just the Leica will be expensive.
Anyway, 2019 is gonna be exciting. We know at least 1 FF mirrorless  will be 4K60fps now. Let’s see the A7SIII

Worst bullish I have seen in a long time. I liked this guy videos, but now I will be more carefull. T
    - First of all, the sharpness on the MP2 should be turned to +1 because they have turned down the digital sharpness compared to previous drone.
    - Secondly, the guy uses AF which is known to suck. Just go MF and click on infinity symbol and all your footages will look sharp and no focus issue. Someone tells him?
    - Third and MOST important: the diffraction on the MP2 is enormous past F5.6. Best sharpness is achieved at 2.8, and best corner sharpness at F/4. Sweet overall spot is F/4. Shoot in either manual either aperture priority and always between 2.8 and F4. I am sure the aperture was higher in his shot.

Do the 3 steps above, re-compare, and the guy will order again the Mavic. When you put out videos like this for the world and you are popular you should do the work properly.

BS clickbait. Of course there is no quality improvement on a basic image between normal and log. The point of log is not better quality, the point is being able to grade the way you want and not fall appart thanks to 10 bit.
Ask the guy to take a difficult scene with sun, and do a heavy grade in both and we will see....
If you do not need to grade the footage there is no point in shooting log indeed.

What model have you ? I had the exact same view for all my gopros except the 6. Very pleased when I watch the footage. Very usable and as always as you say you use it when no other tool will do.
I mean what else am I gonna use for a situation like this from yesterday, a GH5 strapped on my chest?

Absolutely not. In a few days Panasonic will announce 2 4k60p FF camera.
A7S III will have 4K60p too.
I would not spend 6K on an 1.5Kg 2 years old camera with 1.3 crop when better lighter and cheaper is coming.
AT LEAST wait for the announcements and rent a camera if you need until then.

When Canon gives you 1080P EIS that looks as awful as it gets, GoPro gives you H.265 4K60P with a level of electronic stab never seen before. In fact I would prefer to have this stab in my FF versus Sony/Nikon IBIS, let alone Canon IS.
BTW I have the Hero 6, and the stab was very very good but this one is again another league.

    Well done.

    Did he say that? Woow.

On my side I prefer shorter battery life, it allows me to focus on the essential. I prefer the crop, it allows me to easily zoom and I can use my EFS lens when I want to go wide with the super nice 10-18mm. I prefer having Full HD 60p only, easier to edit than 4K60p! And lord knows how I prefer lower DR: it forces you to expose right.
Thanks Canon for making my life easier. Thanks for the trip to Hawaii and free cameras too!

    @wolf33d I understand your frustration.
I also shoot in situations that are more demanding than most people here and I have also been told repeatedly what features I do and do not need to have.  The problem lies in other people assuming that we make films like they do, and they cannot understand that we operate in different situations.  Its like someone recommending a GH5 and a gimbal to someone who shoots skydiving videos and wants higher bitrates and better stabilisation than their GoPro!
I think the problem we both have is that we want a combination of features that come from different manufacturers, and one brand can't supply it all.  Our time will come, but it's probably not for a few more generations yet, which is kind of the purpose of this thread.  Having a camera that does 12 of the 15 things you need and spending $5K on a brand new setup that only gets you to 13/15 may not be the best investment.
I'm also with you about the camera industry not moving as quickly as it could.  I think that the camera industry is moving about the same pace as many other industries (or faster even) but because of smartphones and computers we're now a bit spoiled and have might higher expectations than otherwise.  Still, it's frustrating that the ~$30 camera module in a sub$1000 iPhone has 4K60 and brand-new cameras don't.
We are the film-makers that don't fit the mould, and the industry hasn't worked out what to do with us yet.
@fuzzynormal @Dan Sherman I'm not sure what kind of film-making you guys do (apologies if you've mentioned it and I can't recall) but it seems like there's a side of film-making you may not experience which is behind the drive for better specifications.
It goes kind of like this..  You work out what you're going to shoot, choose your gear and go out and shoot it.  For @wolf33d and I it's shooting in difficult conditions.  You come back from the shoot and review the footage, and the shots fall into three categories:
Shots that aren't usable: they failed due to poor content, poor technique, or technical issues Shots that are usable but the quality is disappointing Shots that tick all the boxes For me at least, up to 80% of my shots are in the first category, and almost none in the third.  We all know that editing (and film-making in general) is an exercise in frustration, so we make the best edit we can and try to improve for next time.  If we do well then no-one will ever see the struggle and failed shots.  The lessons are very often about camera technique, movement, composition, anticipating the action, and all kind of excellent artistic aspects that the operator is responsible for.  I work at these almost constantly.
But a lot of the disappointment is about technical matters.  Beautiful shots that aren't in focus are traumatic to watch.  Manual focus isn't practical when you're holding the camera above your head to get the angle - you can't even see the screen well enough to get a good composition let alone reach the lens!  The current wisdom is to get a follow-focus and a bigger screen, but now your rig is too heavy to hand-hold.  Good AF and 8K would be practical and useful artistic tools in this example because you could get it in focus and crop / stabilise in post.  AF is the easy example, but the same could be said for exposure and DR/Log, stabilisation, or other things.
The drive for better specifications is often the drive to improve your films.  I know that many people reach for the tech because they're lazy, but some people reach for the tech because they're already doing everything else they can and sometimes technique isn't enough.

I have hard time believing they would risk sell us upscalled 2.7K as 4K.

Anyway I have flown the Mavic 2 twice and it's a beast. Great IQ both in photo and video. 0 noise unlike my mavic 1 and mavic air in daylight. DLOG 10 bit Full FOV is fantastic.
Biggest disappointment for me at the moment: when using the amazing quick-shots (orbit, spirals, ...) it seems it can only record in normal color mode h.264. What a shame...
I never used those modes before but realized they do things better than you can do yourself. For example on a mountain summit, you wan to orbit around the subject standing on the summit. It will orbit a lot better than you doing it manually. But the lack of DLOG and 10 bit in this mode is a shame...
Overall amazing drone. IQ is incredible, range and signal quality and battery life are phenomenal. Super stocked.

I could not care less about this APSC camera but I like this. The more 4K60p 10 bit camera on the market, the more chance people like Sony put this (or better) in their cameras like A7S III.

I would love to have the new Nikon Z camera having 4K60p... would be amazing and would replace my A7III (assuming AF is as good).
