Live update from the counter of the shop as I’m making the purchase.
It has very much NOT gone as expected.
    More news to follow

Very true @kye, priceless post, mate : ) I think it's more how to learn with the limitations but you're pretty on the spot about everything you said :- )

Yes, and the beautiful thing about how Sigma handled it is it’s uncompressed CDNG, so it’s literally reading the sensor and dumping the raw feed to the card, wrapping it up in the DNG format. Couldn’t get easier. Whole reason why old canon cameras can do 14-bit RAW continuously without overheating (ok not in a .DNG format straight of the bat but still)

In my opinion, camera companies should be giving their $2,000+ uncompressed internal RAW recording in a simple manner. The Canon 5D II can do this but the $2000 Panasonic S5 II cannot.

The 28-60 has no OSS. The 24-70 has OSS, so in principle, if they coordinate, there should be more stability with IBIS. I use Active Stabilization for static shots, reserving dynamic stabilization for moving with the camera. I have not tried that (yet) with the Zeiss/Sony lens.

Does Dynamic Active Stabilization works on the 24-70 F4?  I heard it doesn't work on 3rd party lens, but I m not sure about older Sony lens.  Your video there is really stable, I think more stable than 28-60mm?

The ZV E1, paired with a good lens, like the Zeiss 24-70 f4, does really provide a nice image. And that sticky tracking focus assisted by AI really works and is needed here (the dancer moving and turning, for example).
Here is Hare Krisha at Washington Square Park.
Oh, and the audio quality of the camera is above the usual.

Better to not focus on the filmmaking technique or style of the shooter, only the camera he/she/they shoot is useful over here to such findings we're looking for on this thread about a new tool release, I guess.
We can always go somewhere else to discuss aesthetics, I think.

I actually got a few project coming up that I m gonna try with E1 instead of using C70/R5C.

I think i've gone overboard with my response and can't edit those post anymore so I m just gonna move on.

I think there is a misunderstanding going on here. I don't patronize you guys, still wish we all would find back to kindness. We are pretty kewl people and a bit cheek in tongue shall not lead to hurts. I try to do the same.

Seriously, guys. Overheating? Do you take long, boring takes from one position? That's what you shoot?
I have shot short boring takes in all sorts of hot, muggy conditions and the camera did not even get warm.
Anyway, for the first bright sunny day since I acquired the camera, I used the upgraded Sony FE 24-105 G lens to shoot an HDR video. New lens firmware, out last November, is alleged to have improved stabilization coordination with the A7R V - but since the ZV E1 has the exact same processors as that camera, I thought I would try the lens out.
And no overheating. I guess I have to keep saying this...

Likely my last travel video from China. The small camera was a success, in not attracting attention, not overheating, and grabbing high-quality images.

Definitely interesting findings. I really liked the look of this camera for about a week (lol) as a kind of lower stakes FX3, but after the latest FX3 firmware updates, I'm back in on that.
I'm super interested to see how the upcoming 120p plays out, also given these observations about the thermal behaviour. I wish it wasn't 119.88, but I don't think there's true 120p available in the FX3 or FX6 either, sadly.

Same guy got the camera to overheat in an indoor test.. in Canada. But not in the African heat, albeit covered from direct sunlight on a windy day. He actually also did an overheat test with one of those small fans blowing right on the camera and it passed so air flow seems like the key to manage thermals. I'm still way too skeptical to drop 2699€ on something that seems to require natural or artificial ventilation to beat overheating but these findings sure are fascinating!

AI video just keeps on getting better and better:

The video to video feature is especially interesting, I could imagine a very rough video being made cheaply, then being heavily stylized to create a much more polished output for use in an advert.
A longer look at AI tools for video:

There's a bit of controversy surrounding this topic in regards to the new Anthony Bourdain documentary. Not being a random voice, but, the voice of an actual person.
    https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/story/2021-07-26/la-et-anthony-bourdain-deepfake-ai-voice-documentary-audio-cgi
I think these AI voice techniques will become common place much sooner than later. Similar to how AutoTune has tarnished the perceived artistry of a well executed vocal performance, this will degrade the sense of comfort and companionship a great voiceover performance provides.

Emanuel reacted to BTM_Pix in Shock horror... a vlogging camera that is actually designed for vlogging????
So the ZV-1 Mark 2 has been announced today and Sony have indeed addressed the wide end being wider so it now starts off at 18mm equivalent instead of 24mm equivalent.
But it isn't optically stabilised like the original so you lose a fair amount of that 6mm by having to use the electronic stabilisation.
And the long end has been cut from 70mm to 50mm.
And it is now a lot slower (f1.8 to f4 versus f1.8 to f2.8).
And now we go over live to the Head Of Hopes & Dreams at Sony .....

5 minute limit for 4K in the specs.
This will overheat, just like the normal form-factor Powershots shooting 4K. As I experienced.
