2nd version all way long, Mark ; ) This is the announcement of the year! Seems even funny how people out there are focused on minor releases when we have this one here to let a pure cinema camera such as the Pocket series... Filmmakers won't find any better combo wherever else : P Writes someone handling cameras professionally for three decades now (E :- )
-
Man, I am impressed, so I'm eager for your news on the Pro version to include the tracking mode.
-
I agree on the form factor. Ergonomics, lightweight... can do the whole difference for both ends. Even though, that 1-stop of difference can be the culprit.
-
PS: Mere lens weight can interfere in the outcome...
-
I guess from not identical lenses, hence my wondering... Because if so, that's a truly mistake from tester's side.
-
It is because there was another thread now closed where Ed had no chance to respond to an invective from discussions 5 years old, go figure... Well, I'd just love we can all be as friendly as we can. We are here to share the presence of each other, not for fighting back from a distant keyboard anywhere else. Only points made should count. And it's hard to follow many facts outside of this bubble indeed.
-
No worries : ) Important is to keep information up. S5 IBIS performance has surprised me against S1H. I wonder if the tester used identical stabilized lenses in fact.
-
Right. S5. The lack of capital letters from your side to begin the periods and their verbiage on their many different camera model version additions made my mess, very true : ) Thanks for correcting and bringing me back to track :- )
-
The only one in this same page :- )
-
I thought so until to have seen that comparison video... Stabilized vs non-stabilized glass then?
-
More than when, it is if... will there be GH6 announcement? In behalf of everyONE of us, I really do hope so :- ) The motion picture world will be more empty without this camera format, the best ever...

I kindly ask both sides to stop this. It's sad to see people hurt each other on one-sided personal attacks. No one here has clue about what's going on through private places. I'd sincerely rather have no broken knowledge about because we always tend to form an opinion and we never know where the truth of the facts resides from fractionated information without a cohesive perception. There's no a single or whole truth. It's not linear. A sort of multiple narrative structure in life. No innocents nor many devils. https://www.cliffsnotes.com/literature/d/dr-jekyll-and-mr-hyde/character-list

WOW S1H is superior to S5, let alone much superior to Nikon and Sony's as expected : ) @Aaron Smith I'd rather just stay on MFT band or jump directly to S1H instead if money is no object. My condolences on your loss.

Once my name popped up, just to let any reader know there's no past nor current issues of any kind between Ed and me BTW :- )
-
In the same vibe on here because of P6K and R5 for now as seems EF lenses is the most consensual glass route these days for hybrid use... What are your favorite ones today?
-
September 1. We ain't so far from there then, correct? Any date to put on our calendar now?
-
I bet so too but, I've just received from CDA TEK support on the now released v6.9.6 update a few days ago, so I guess we're pretty safe with our Irish supplier :- )
-
MFT rocks, no matter what : ) Filmmaking means choices and you have plenty of them as far as glass concerns (cameras don't shoot without it) you can only dream of, going with a bigger format size... that's a fact :- )

Blackmagic casually announces 12K URSA Mini Pro Camera
Emanuel replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Only sub 20K cameras...? ;- ) -
More from Leica's press statement: According to the source, these lenses will begin to appear at lens retailers from August through to December 2020. The Portuguese-made lenses will include the following: Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH (black) Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH (silver) Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH (black-chrome) Leica Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH (silver) Leica Summaron-M 28mm f/5.6 (silver) Leica Summicron-M 28mm f/2 ASPH Leica Summicron-M 50mm f/2 (black) Leica Elmarit-M 28mm f/2.8 ASPH Leica began producing cameras and lenses in Portugal in 1973 at a factory in Vila Nova de Famalicão, about 25 miles (40km) north of the city of Porto. "With this new production line at Leica Camera’s state-of-the-art facility in Portugal, Leica has decided to offer USA consumers a choice to buy a selection of some of the most popular and essential Leica M-Lenses, stringent to the same quality and standards expected from Leica as our German-made products, Made in Portugal, at a much lower price than their Made in Germany counterparts. The price differential is a direct result of tariffs, and in no way indicative of quality standards." https://www.reddotforum.com/content/2020/08/leica-introduces-made-in-portugal-m-lenses-at-lower-pricing/ Made about 40-50kms / 25-30 miles away of where I am while I am writing these lines here now... :- ) https://www.fdtimes.com/2017/02/22/leica-portugal-tour/ http://www.fdtimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/80FDTimes-LEICA-PortugalFactoryTour.pdf

The best camera is that one with us then, isn't it? ; ) Reason why I praise AF & IBIS, no matter how old school I or we come from :- )

You're in your right : ) I for once traded my yet new 5DII used mainly for motion picture and still part of my collection for a GH1 somewhere between the streets of Ljubljana and Zagreb because of form factor. Used mostly for stills, yeah, go figure! : D Never looked back. Love small devices, glass and pocket size included, hence my MFT love as well < 3
