    https://www.l-rumors.com/last-minute-leaked-s5-info-future-update-will-come-to-support-anamorphic-shooting/
"– An update will come later this year for the S5 to give support to 5,9K 29,97p/4K DCI/3,5K Anamorphic via Atomos Ninja V recorder
    – 2 new picture profiles: L Monochrome S and L Classic Neo
    – V-Log and V-Gamut are included, no additional fees
    – Panasonic will announce 7 (!) “affordable” lenses: 24mm, 35mm, 50mm et 85mm ( available in November < 1000€) with F1.8 aperture, a 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 zoom and a bright wide angle lens"

I personnally think this is insane for the price point to be able to record 6K out of the Ninja V ! Perfect B-Cam to the S1H!
The primes are all I've been expected for. Let's go Panasonic !!

PS : what's left for Panasonic S1 buyers? An firmware update for sure !

Trankilstef got a reaction from Juank in New Fuji camera coming. X-H2?
Nokishita spotted a new Fuji camera that has just been certified.
Fuji Rumors don't say a lot about it as they tell people to wait a bit before giving us some bits of information about it. It seems to have the same wireless communication module that the upper Fuji model like the X-Pro 3.
The announcement day should be on October 16th.
Is it possible to see an X-H2 announcement out of the blue?

It's normal that they introduce this body before any new GH body, it's a new mount, they need it to sell better than it already did. The fact that there aren't a lot of choice in lenses is not a reality, there is plenty of choice between Panasonic, Leica and Sigma (and others too) and you can adapt every possible vintage lens from the past. The real problem is that the sigma lenses are the only to be affordable, but they don't focus in a-fc wich is a bummer for a native lens...
Until Panasonic release more affordable lenses like the three primes that will probably be announced soon, and until Sigma doesn't deliver lenses made specifically for L-mount that focus as well as panasonic ones, the problem will remain.
And don't worry, a gh6 will come. No doubt. They just need to help L-mount sales to increase a bit before announcing it! 👍🏽

When is the S5 hitting the stores? Cannot wait to see reviews, sell my S1 and get one. Swivel screen and all the codecs already in there are too much to hold back. Well done, Panasonic, a disappointed customer becomes a satisfied customer. All by the same product. What a paradox! Darn!:)

The renowned specs said fullframe as a description for the 60p.  You're right, its not definite.  They should though given competition.

It breaks easily and requires you to have a cage for the camera to use it reliably without it falling out or getting pulled out easily. Full and even miniHDMI you can get away with just plugging it in sometimes but I never trust micro and don't want to lug a cage whenever I want to use and external monitor.

Honestly hope the S5 releases for $1500 and kills used prices on the S1, that way I can pick one up with the XLR input. It really is a rock solid camera with no negatives for me except the lack of great video AF.... and I really don't use video AF right now, it would just be nice to have.

Where did you see mentionned that 4k60p is not cropped?
I didn't see any mention of a crop, but I mean it doesn't necessarily translate as no crop. It would be nice though.

I don't think Panasonic will do much for the S1.  They will want you to buy the S5. The first year of the GH5 you got some decent upgrades, but its just small stuff since.  I think if you got the S1 and want more, buy the S5 or the S1H.  Back when the S1 was announced, I had plans to buy it, but held back.  I'm glad I did.  The S5 is looking the better option and camera.

The s1's internal codec is 100% good enough for a theatrical feature.
But if you plan to RIP into the footage with extreme grades then yes, the All I codec is better.
Just like raw isnt nessesary but it's nice to have.
For a low budget indie film with a small crew, the Panasonic mirrorless cameras are a great tool for achieving a cinematic image with their dynamic range, color and ergonomics. Especially now with the S line and the varicam look these cameras produce. Plus they're 10bit 422 which opens the doors for post.
I dont think the s1h is lacking that magic. Looking up films shot on it, I feel its image is right up there with the cine cameras of today.
Once you get a great sensor on your hands an equally as good lens is a must to truly experience the potential

Holy shit, I thought that the scales were wrong, played with the file in Gimp but they are right.

Made a VERY crude size comparison with the GH5 (got a size comparison between the S1 and GH5 in Camerasize, and used the S1 mount as size reference - sorry for the quality) and...looks like that it is even smaller than the GH5.
