Chrille
What are your thoughts on Bertrand Mandico? Honestly i find it quite hard to understand the concepts and strories of his films, but the way his movies look and are shot is super faszinating. Also great that he comes from an animation background:
Matt Kieley
After David Lynch's passing, one of my local theaters screened Eraserhead and Mulholland Drive, so I finally got to see them on the big screen. Eraserhead is a top 3 favorite and Mulholland Drive might even be in the top ten. Lynch is my all time favorite director/artist. The biggest advantage to seeing these theatrically finally, is the sound. His sound design is unlike any other.
Aussie Ash
I have just been to see F1 directed by Joseph Kosinski with Brad Pitt as leed.scored as follows 10 is Super and 1 is pee weak.story 8 Cinematography 8 acting 8 -sound 8 putting the audience in the F1 drivers seat 5. Compared to "Rush" 2013 with the James Hunt and Niki Lauda battles story 9 Cinematography 7 acting 9 sound 7 putting the audience in the F1 drivers seat 2. Compared to Grand Prix 1966 John Frankenheimer & shot on Super Panavision 70 story 6 rather lame and artificial ,Cinematography 9 amazing for 1966,acting 6 ,sound 9 ,putting the audience in the drivers seat

Aussie Ash
Very funny MrSMW, One of the guys involved in making F1 the film said " we are aiming at bringing the "Top Gun experience to Formular 1 racing".The financial experience may have also played a part with Top Gun 1986 box office $357 Million and only a $15 million budget Top Gun Maverick 2022 $1.5 Billion box office and $177 million budget.Top Gun was arguably the first film to give a reasonable impression what it was actually like to fly a f14 Tomcat .The films story is cheesy to say the least ,even the shag scene was added at the last moment. Much of the 2025 F1 film actual racing sequences the camera position changes every few seconds leaving only a vague impression of driving.Have a look at this for comparison- F1 Grand Prix (1966) - Music Video - Lost but Won - YouTube
kye
I just found out that Stalker is free on YouTube.... I saw the movie when I was young but not since, so I'm waiting for a good time where I can sit and watch uninterrupted. eatstoomuchjam
For me, Stalker is one of the most gorgeous films ever made. I feel inspired every time I watch it!
