I do a lot of sports and surf videos and this is a recent one I did in the westcoast of Auckland. GH4 really help you in this fast paced run and gun situation where you need to change things fast and adapt to the environment. The small sensor size is actually a positive factor in sports as well because of the crop factor and deeper focus plane. Landscape shots were shot in 4K then scaled. Vintage Contax, Pentax lenses were used.

Hi, I apologize if this has been answered somewhere before, but I have looked around a feew forums and come up short. Basically I want to use a european GH4 to record live events (>30min) with an external recorder. I am therefore wondering if it is possible to get long continous output from the GH4's HDMI out in standby?

Noktor asked me to test out their new SLR Magic Hyperprime 10mm T2.1 for MFT. Thought some people might interested to see footage, as lately most MFT tests are done on the GH4. Here's the video: It's a pretty good wide angle option for the non-Speedbooster folk. Thanks for watching!

Hello everyone. I just bought a perfect condition Angenieux 12-120mm 2.2 with C-Mount and I need to adapt it to the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera. Using a cheap C-Mount/MFT adapter ring (very like this one:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321527133930) I can't find neither infinite focus nor parfocal zooming. I bought the lens expecially for parfocal zooming, so I really need to reach it. Does anyone have experience with the lens and can help me out? - Are there reccomended-best fitting C/MFT adapter to be used with the Angenieux 12-120? Most says the Metabones one or the Ciecio7 Ebay Seller one. Any thoughs? - How can I get infinite focus and parfocal zooming without modifying the lens? - Is there anyone who has it successfully (parfocal and infinity focus) mounted on the Pocket? This is a little 2 minutes short film we shot with the Blackmagic Cinema Camera. It is our first major field test of the camera and we weren't disapointed at all. We shot with a Canon 50mm 1.8 & SLR Magic 25mm 0.95. Coming from a DSLR background, I was really surprised how well he dynamic range really held up. We shot ProRes for everything except the opening and closing shots which we shot RAW. We used one bounce card but the rest was available light.    It's titled: "Le Rire". As you can probably tell by the heavy-handed french music, we were aiming for the feel of a pixar-esque short. A light pass of film grain was added via an "editwithlight" filmscan overlay thingy.     Thoughts? Hello~   I was getting scared off by all the white orb issues with the upcoming pocket cam, so I went ahead and decided to buy the BMCC 2.5k cam in MFT mount.  I went home to do some tests and discovered that I was getting the very same white orbs effects that people had been reporting with the pocket cam.  I figured it was a fluke, but I exchanged mine for a new one today only to find that the second one was having the same problem as well.  I haven't heard any other BMCC MFT owners complain about this, but I wanted to reach out to see if anyone else was having the issue.  I've attatched some screen shots of footage I shot with both cameras, so you can see the issue.  All footage was shot in Pro res, 200 ASA, with the SLR Magic 25mm .95 hyperprime.     Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.  Andrew, I know you own this lens and the BMCC MFT, have you ever had issues with this combo before?   Thanks.    ~Tom   [attachment=651:orbs6.jpg][attachment=652:orbs5.jpg][attachment=653:orbs2.jpg][attachment=654:orbs1.jpg][attachment=655:orb3.jpg]

I was wondering if there was a Metabones for MFT available for my GH3 14-42 kit lens. 

With this recent price drop in BMCC, buying a 2.5K camera seems relevant again. Especially since it has one extra stop of dynamic range over the 4K version, and with the metabones speedbooster it actually has similar form factor regarding the DOF. And It could be a great B cam once you decide to get a 4K version (or if finances are low, get a pocket version as a B cam for 2.5K) Now my question is, would I need to buy a metoabones speedbooster for each of my lens types as I have contax yashica, Leica, Nikon, EF, etc... (which would be extremely expensive), or could I only get the EF to MFT version (once it comes out) and use the C/Y, Leica, etc... to EF adapter? Thanks a lot for your responses.

I've spent the last week reading as much as I could about micro four thirds cameras, and it looks like many people are trumpeting MFT as the "death of DSLR" or at least a viable option. Since I'm on the prowl for a new SLR, the MFT cameras - GH2 in particular - is making me think twice about going with a Canon/Nikon. But is MFT really that great? I have some issues/questions:[list] [*]The cameras appear to be smaller and made of plastic, i.e., cheaper. Yet they don't cost consumers any less. [*]MFT sensors are about half the size of the new consumer level Nikon D3200 (full frame). How can this NOT be inferior? - at least for stills? [*]Lens focal length and aperture are double that of 35mm film cameras, so a 45mm f/1.8 is effectively a 90mm f/3.6. To get 2.8 aperture, you need to buy an f/1.4. [*]Lenses are smaller and plastic and look like toys. The optics are WAY smaller. So they're probably a lot cheaper to manufacture. Yet the price is not cheaper. For example, the Olympus 85mm 1.8 is more than twice the price of a Nikon 85mm 1.8D. Not a fair comparison, you might think - well, there isn't a 42mm 1.4, so the closest I could find is a Fujifilm 35mm f/1.4 for $600. Doesn't anyone else have misgivings about laying down $400 for a little plastic prime lens? For just over $100 you can get a killer Nikon 50mm 1.8. [*]Optical viewfinders are rare on MFTs (and they'd be rangefinders), and electronic viewfinders will always suffer latency - perhaps not an issue for video, but would be for still photography. [/list] So the words that sum up the physical characteristics of a MFT system are[list] [*]Small [*]Plastic [*]Toylike [*]Expensive [/list] Smaller lens diameters and smaller sensors would seem to be more susceptible to dust and imperfections. I don't know - just hypothesizing. I've read that, for video, the GH2 has some magic that makes it on par with high end DSLRs. But still photographs are almost but not quite as good - from what I've read. Has anyone ditched their DSLR for MFT? These are the questions and concerns I have about micro four thirds. This isn't a list of gripes - just some things I've read. I haven't even SEEN a GH2 with my own eyes, but I've seen some of the other mirrorless cameras. So all this is just a synopsis of what I've read on the web. I'd like to hear from you people who know more than what the Oracle can provide. Thanks! - and I hope the above doesn't rile anyone.
