It's odd that my learning process isn't quite as riddled with confusion as yours.  Yes I bought some items I ended up not needed.  That is normal and had nothing to do with misleading advertising or comments on the Web.  It's just that what sounded good in theory didn't work for me in practise.  Or maybe it didn't fit my way of working.  No one but me will know that, so there was nothing anyone else could say or do to change that.  It was my mistake to make and to take ownership of.  I don't blame others for it.
Again if I or Panasonic described the GH4 as a handheld camera, I doubt I'd hear a peep from you.  Assign the same term to another camera brand and its suddenly a bone of contention.  Would you describe the GH5s as handheld?
If Blackmagic advertised that you could film stable footage handheld, then yes, it is misleading advertising.  Describing it as handheld, just means it's small enough to be held in one's hand whilst working with it.  In this case, it is true.  As born out my those of us who do so.  To me the Pocket cameras are handheld tools in the same way my GH4 cameras are and my GH5s.  I can hold and operate them entirely with my hands, without any additional straps or support.  Therefore Blackmagic isn't being misleading.  They even have a handgrip....

Wow so many assumptions and false conclusions in 1 post.
Most of my lenses are EF-S
I have had issues with adaptors.  Loss of aperture at key moments.  Loss of IS at key moments.  This is from 3 adaptors I own for MFT mount.   Not a promising start.
Noting the C70 has an EF adaptor isn't endorsement of adaptors.  Merely an observation.  I'm not buying the C70 or its adaptor.
Using MFT lenses on a S35 sensor is not something I would ever consider.  Selling them maybe.
Personally I still prefer S35 to fullframe.  I prefer not to use adaptors if I can.  My own personal preference.   Sorry if this offends you.

Here's a GH6 rumour from the GH5 FB group that everyone might find useful.

That's a really foolish comparison. I am fine with AF, it's great. What I don't like is how people act as though it's a must have, especially in a cine camera. People discredit cameras because of it. It's silly.
As far as your scenario, I've shot close to 100 interviews and have always used manual focus. Most productions I've worked on manually focused, too. Everyone is different, but I wouldn't depend on it.

I think it is a combination of a biased interpretation of one's own link, plus poor comprehension of another somewhat misleading source.

I already addressed the Gerald Undone video that you linked.  I disagree with the conclusions to which he jumps in regards to dynamic range.  He sets up arbitrary conditions (the size of the C70's sensor and the lack of NR options on the A7S III) for which the C70's dynamic range is "better" in his mind than the A7S III.

However, at 09:52 in the video, he additionally states that the low light performance of the A7S III is far superior to that of the C70:
While he makes this statement, we see a side-by-side comparison of the performance of the C70 and the A7S III starting at iso 12800 and 25600, which reveals that the A7S III is exceptionally cleaner than the noisy C70.

So much for the CVP and "GU" links.  The C70 is not "clean" at 12,800 iso, unlike the A7S III.

I see.  Well, once again, I would have to take your word on that, but after seeing the discrepancy between your statements and your links, I don't think that I will.

Since I have EF lenses, I am delighted it has an EF mount.  All these other mounts is why I struggle to upgrade to fullframe.  It means choosing between RF, L or E or any others.  I prefer to avoid adaptors if I can.  Having so much invested in MFT only for Panasonic to cut their MFT almost dead in favour of FF makes me reluctant to invest totally too much in 1 system.  Didn't Canon have a M series of lenses too.
At least with EF lenses, there is plenty of them and at good 2nd hand prices too.  Even the C70 has an adaptor to use them.  The future should be cameras with interchangeable mounts, so you're not limited to just one system.

Me too.  I'm going witb S35 until I've made my mind up about fullframe.  Pocket 6K Pro will be first non MFT since Canon 60d I owned 10 years ago.
You can still transcode BRAW footage in Resolve.  I did it to supply footage to clients and it took no time at all.  Depends on how quick your turnaround is.  You'd might have better luck simply familiarising yourself with the cut page in Resolve.

If learning from Internet forums is aiming high, what's aiming low?  😉
Then again, seeing how you responded to a clearly more experienced person trying to answer your question on clamping a camera to glass, I am not surprised your learning is more conflicted than my own. 🤣🤣🤣

Ugh, the X-T3 and 4 have a nasty artificial and plastic looking image with strong temporal filtering on top of the excessive sharpening which gets thrown on the footage even when it's set to -4. Even the A7s3 performs better in that regard.
Really no comparison to the S1H with NR set to -1.

An exaggeration surely.  A long list... really.  I have a short list.  Some addressed by this new camera.
What exactly is this long list you see?  Do tell?
Yes, some users have had issues.  QC is a BM problem.  But many others have not reported the same issues that others have.  My Pocket 4K has been very reliable for me.  Poor battery life, screen in sunlight and no tilt being my primary concerns.
I had more issues with some of my Panasonic cameras than the Pocket 4K.

    You're so picky.  Why?
So it doesn't have IBIS.  I'm reviewing footage from 2014 at the moment, shot on a holiday with a GH4.  That footage was shot handheld with a IS lens.  Are you saying the GH4 wasn't a handheld camera?
Also, with my GH5, I would turn off IBIS for shots with wide angle lenses as I would get wobble in my footage if left on.  Did turning IBIS off also switch off the handheld function?
For the record, I've used the Pocket 4K handheld with non IS lenses on some occasions.  I also use it loads of time with IS lens.  In both cases, I am hand holding the camera.
I've mixed views on IBIS.  Useful, yes.  But I found it made me lazy and also too dependant on it.  There were also weird issues where it would wobble, which was difficult to fix in post.  Don't get me wrong, it's very useful to have and my GH5 sits as a useful bit of kit in my bag for certain run n gun situations.  However, the Pocket is my primary camera for a reason.

I mean... that is a boat. I shoot handheld with my Pocket 4k all the time. Mostly with unstabilised lenses like the Sigma 18-35. It just depends on the look you want.
With the announcement, the thing that got me most excited is the firmware for the other pockets. The new histogram is alright I suppose, but Gen5 colour inside the camera will be great.
I also noticed the new camera shoots more versions of Braw, with Q1 and Q3 being added, so for now I'm assuming that will also come to the other cameras. Making my 2 main hopes a reality.

Fair point.  Sorry if I misjudged..
That said, I'm no longer one to complain about spending now.  That new Pocket 6K Pro just announced will be preordered by me once I can.  I'm hopeful some work will come from this year and I've still got savings to pay for it.  I'll take a chance and hope like you did last year that things will play out.  I'll probably pick up some Corporate work once lockdown ends I the UK as I did last September.

C70 is a workhorse camera for run n gun, Pocket 6K more a cinema camera.  I liked the C70 but you pay a lot for it, and yes it has more DR, but how often will I need those extra stops.  I rarely clip with the Pocket 4K aside from those situations where even the C70 would have issues with.  The extra range of ND and The AF would be useful, but the trade off. No 6K, smaller screen, ability to record record SSD which I love, BRAW vs H264, a colour science I prefer over Canon and a lot cheaper too.
Two entirely different cameras for different needs and style of shooting.  The C70 shouldn't be like the Pocket 6K pro and vice versa.  We all need variety not copycats.
I choose the Pocket 6K Pro.  It's the best choice for me.  Of course the reverse is true for those who buy the C70.

Oh this is what I want.  Pocket 6K Pro takes all that was good with the Pocket cameras and added ND and tilt screen thats better to view in sunlight.  Okay, I need to learn more, but if this holds up,  this is the camera I need.

I'd like to say the same, but I filmed and live streamed one Wedding Ceremony last year totally for free.
    It was my own. 🤣🤣🤣
I setup 3 cameras, Pocket4K, GH5s at the front, on closeup and wide and a GH5 at the back.  Plus attached a small camera for live streaming to Facebook for my wife's family in Turkey to see, plus UK friends and family as we were limited to 12 guests.  This wasn't easy to set up as the registrar kept wanting to interview me for their bit of legal nonsense.  I was fiddling with streaming settings on my phone and she politely asked me to put my phone down.  Thankfully I got the streaming running just in the nick of time before my soon to be wife walked in.
Before the Ceremony finished, I had to replace the card in the Pocket 4K as I had set it to HQ in the rush.  I got looks from everyone including my now wife, but I just said cheekily, "hey, you're marrying a Wedding Videographer, what do you expect".  😁😁
