There's literally an entire section of the BMD site dedicated their press releases that discuss their cameras being used on projects.

You literally ignored every thing I wrote, including examples, that show you're wrong. In fact, your entire argument, which I reiterate is dumb, has changed from "no one will use these cameras for professional productions" to "no one will use these as A cams."
What does "bigger budget" even mean??? That's such a blanket statement. $2,000,000 is "bigger budget" work for a lot of people.
All you need to do is go through Blackmagic's old press releases to see the projects that used the original pocket, since BMD promoted pretty much every project that uses a product of theirs, to see that these cameras get used on major projects, including on an Avengers film, A cam or not.

Now Trump is...seriously, I am not sure what is he trying to do. U.S.A certainly will loose big time on a financial war.
Europe is really well established and are consuming far less than Americans, while they are #1 in renewable energy and recycling, so they can manage to produce and not waste as much, while China and India -they already do -can rise their middle class and consume independantly of the western world. Those 2 are very well connected with Africa, which is the next big thing.

You seem to be living in Orwell's distopian world.
War Is Peace, Freedom Is Slavery, and Ignorance Is Strength?

The only "friendlies" in your eyes are the ones you subjugate probably.

Huawei is not "trusted blindly" - the technology is tested and checked, and all security investigations find that they are safe.
And it looks like with far less bugs and less open to exploits, just because of all that scrutiny.

If a few EU countries like Germany (their technology is used to build 5G networks, and Germany's is 90% done already), conclude Huawei are as safe if not safer than any US tech (well... I'll go with "safer" as any manufacturer and software developer has to disclose the encryption methods, at least... and that is something even I had to do in the past), it seems it's all US fabrication of allegations and nothing more.
    https://www.spiegel.de/netzwelt/netzpolitik/huawei-beteiligung-am-5g-ausbau-angela-merkel-nennt-in-japan-bedingung-a-1251592.html

    here's a refresher for you:
    https://www.theregister.co.uk/2019/02/19/germany_huawei_5g_security/

To sum it up... this is nothing but trying to get the pie of installing and supporting all 5G networks, especially in EU.
Not only because it's a big market, but that will give NSA and USA direct access to spying EU networks. Something they will have very hard time to do against the Chinese tech.

At first I thought  "Oh please, someone help me...". Then, I was laughing. Seriously, this is my last answer to you.
Here are two links. Sorry, I won't browse every selling places. I'm a also in 2 facebook Nikon selling group. What I said is what I see on a daily basis on many selling places, as I'm trying to sell mine since 2 weeks.
The first one is on a famous French forum : https://forum.hardware.fr/hfr/AchatsVentes/Photo-Audio-Video/nikon-nissin-di700a-sujet_721010_1.htm
Z6 + 24-70S + XQD 64gb + a second original battery, bought on the 5th of January. The guy sold it 2070€ two weeks ago  (in its ad, he initially proposed 2150€ with a flash NISSIN DI700A). The body is in perfect condition with only 789 clicks. You can google translate it. Yes, the FTZ is not present, but as it now sells almost for free in kit...
On amazon.fr, the Z6 + FTZ was, some days ago, less expensive (slightly) than the Z6 BODY ONLY. Now, there is only a 50€ difference between both (in favor of the body only).
    Another one : https://www.leboncoin.fr/image_son/1614925861.htm/
    Z6 + 24-70 + XQD 64gb. Never opened. 2000€

Do I ask you why you, again, bring on the table both the GH5 and the EOS-R ? No, I won't, have enough lost my time.
Enjoy your Z6 but, do yourself a favor : take gear and brand less seriously...

This certainly had to do with pressure from Apple, Snapdragon and a host of other American IT Companies whose profits are plummeting, and whose future looks bleak, thanks to Chinese companies who have dethroned hundreds of those. Snapdragon can openly abuse monopoly and laws in the US, but the same is not possible all over the world. And accusing Huawei of espionage is hilarious. Google and Facebook and all major silicon valley companies are spying on you 24x7. They probably know more about you than you would.

I have been wanting more Operating System Platforms than iOS and Android for the longest, and users should have the ability to choose which operating system to have on their smartphones, and not be locked into one for life (of the device, much like MS and Apple). I hope Huawei, Samsung and Sony create a parallel OS, which is more refined than what Android is right now, and that smartphones start actually replacing professional cameras soon enough. Snapdragon is good, but abusing monopoly is unacceptable.
Also, if HTC, Samsung (whose market dominance was attacked by attempting to false jail their CEO), Sony, Huawei, Redmi, One Plus ever start challenging iPhone ot Snapdragon or whoever else, will they suffer the same fate? Who decides what's fair and what isn't? Ideally I hope this goes to the international court of justice and Google loses billions.

You should try to understand more what people write, and wait a minute or two before answering. Or maybe I was not clear. But, anyway...
Look, allow me to auto quote myself :
I loved the camera, period. I have just reacted to the link talking about the potential issue (what Nikon and you name "service advisory").
The fact that you don't know about the d600 disaster tells a lot about your lack of knowledge concerning Nikon recent history tinted of fails (and greatness like the D850)
If you had possessed a born dead D600, a  3 times recalled (yes you read it : 3 f*cking recalls !!!!!) D750, you would understand. So, I do not freak out, it's just a natural reaction to Nikon's poor launching of cameras.
Plus, as I wrote above, I checked on Nikon's website and my unit is not concerns. There is a website for us customers, in order to check if you have to send your potential defective camera. So I used it, and it is OK for me, period. Then, because I know Nikon and am equipped with their cameras since a long time, I just question if this kind of "service advisory" could impact sales and resale value.
I would keep it if I could. But I am an amateur, and having car troubles , I face difficulties to transport myself to my joyful 9to5. As I wouldn't want to handicap myself in the rat-race (irony of course), I have to sell something to help to pay the cost.
Anyway, enjoy your z6 (and don't forget to check for service advisory ? ) !

Yes I agree. Truly a great camera, and I maintain all the good and long things I wrote about it some months ago. I'm just sad and annoyed to have to get rid of it because of $$ reasons...
The 24-70 f4 alone is a sufficient reason to jump on the ship. Well, being soon camera less, I will have lots of great choices when I will have enough money again to find a new camera.

The 24-70 f4S sold in 2days, but the Z6 + FTZ is impossible to sell : large amount of bodies already on the used market, and for really low prices. I just checked and my unit is fortunately not concerns by the recall but, seriously, it will make the resell harder... D600-gate may still be in the memories ? My last time Nikon, really...

The script writing is leagues ahead of GOT!
Earth solved the overpopulation problem sending people to space, first in the Mars colony, then the outer belt, but there are political issues in earth as well, it is not the gardem of Eden it used to be, it is not the Star Trek utopia but a deeply flawed place, but the best there is in this system.
The first 2 seasons were truly exceptional. 3 was good, some over simplifications (or the exact opposite!) at times but it really hold its narrative. It made sense in the end.
Has anyone watched the Nightflyers? George R. R. Martin Material, and in HDR, but is pushing behind in my To Watch list, every week for half a year now!
What a dissapointment the Star Trek re-boot is so far. Just another super humans product. The movies and the series just not worthy of the Star Trek name. I have recently finished watching all the TV series, again, so I am 100% sure..

But The Expanse not only depicts "a vast underclass of exploited low class ignorant people". It also talks about Mars, a highly technologically advanced civilization, that once dreamed of transforming Mars into a Earthy like place. We can also see research stations etc. We even see what you describe, or sort of, with the biggest ship ever made, built to send people colonize distant unknown worlds. ; this one was not built to be loaded with "useless" people .
"Belters" or colonies as you describe, are, as I see it, only workforce. They live a shit life at the end of the solar system in order to exploit the resources for the others. I don't see them a "settlement", in the way, as you said, the elites could make. I'm not sure that in reality, the elites would hasten to leave a life on Earth to live in mostly "hard to imagine life" places as we can see in the serie.
I'll soon start the books, and I can't wait to see how the show differs from it !

I am a big fun of the Expanse too! But last season was suspect at points, this 4th season can make or brake it, make it classic or just a very good sci fi one.
Dark was very good also, not excellent but liked it better than Stranger Things.
One series I never expected to like but enjoyed for its first seasons (last ones are a tier down) is Brooklyn Nine Nine. Good and fun 20 minutes!
The Deuce is very good also.

SPOILER :                  Samwell Tarly killed more people than the Golden Company.

They really lost me when they started to write by themselves without following the book anymore. I felt it like a cards castle collapse : everything was rushed, unlikely, too easy. I couldn't enjoy the episodes anymore, as I was constantly obsess by the non-stop mess. Season 7 was, to me, really painful to watch, given all the things that had been built since episode 1 some years ago.
But these season is really really worse. 8 seasons that are supposed to lead to next Sunday episode that, given what we've got since 5 weeks, should be utterly disappointing.

Can't wait to pass to something else, like the next season of Dark (awesome German serie) or The Expanse...

... and still wait for the next book of George RR ?

Geoff_L reacted to Andrew Reid in Made In China vs Made In Japan - Perception Of Quality
    I detect a lot of anti-Chinese bias!
It's reasonable enough to raise the topic but save us the old "China makes junk" cliche, it's no longer as simple.
China is a developing economy and all countries go through eras of churning out cheap products during this phase. Japan did it. Even the US did it to some degree, but in a very different technological era. Looking at the camera companies - Sigma did it - made very cheap lenses in huge quantities for a LONG time before they started to do the high-end quality stuff we all respect so highly.
What is going on at the moment is Chinese home-grown technology is cost competitive and technologically becoming on an even par with western stuff, so that combination makes it a huge threat to US businesses like Intel and Qualcomm. There are political reasons for smearing Huawei.
There is also a distinction between IP, design and assembly / manufacturing. Most of China's developing economy has been based on assembly and manufacturing but now they are becoming big on original designs and products, which is another threat to the US economy. Especially in chip design and telecoms.
As for quality, perceptions and stereotypes always vary... You're entitled to your views. I find them outdated. RED cameras and iPhones are hardly poorly put together products - both made in China. Foxconn. No doubt if they had been made in an American factory by American hands you'd think they were better made, but that says more about prejudiced opinion than the actual facts or the skills level of the Chinese workforce. Across Asia there are a lot of people highly educated and dedicated to their work otherwise they wouldn't do the things they are doing. And Chinese space programme is another flagship advancement, whether we can agree on their politics or not, the writing is on the wall. The US is no longer top dog.
"There will be nobody left in China to do business with. Very bad for China, very good for USA!"
    ---
Of course when you have this twat starting trade wars, you're bound to get people whipped up into a sinophobic frenzy.
    Let's look at the facts.
It's hard to imagine a President so out of touch with US businesses, who have benefited massively from cheap Chinese labour and manufacturing.
There isn't a single major US technology or camera company around today that doesn't need Chinese manufacturing or parts supply.
And yet Trump thinks attacking that is very good for the USA, because he has a simple world view - "we can make stuff here... it's easy... just build a factory"...
For a start, if you look at the quantities of natural resources, rare metals and energy required to make mass produce fundamental parts for modern technological devices and appliances, the US doesn't have any of it easily to hand like China does and digging them up at the scale required would cause massive pollution right on your doorstep. Is that would you want?
If smartphones were all made in the US they would cost 10x more at retail and wouldn't sell a single unit vs cost effective competitors.
The technology doesn't even exist at the required scale in the US to build the stuff, like it does in China, Japan and South Korea. We're talking here about the machines that make machines. Vast majority of the equipment is Asian.
We are talking vast scale of manufacturing, where a single factory is the size of a small city and employees over 1 million people. Add up the cost of those people with US wages vs doing the same thing in China and you start to realise what a fucking amateur Trump is when it comes to business and why he has made enormous losses and write-offs in every one of his business ventures.
