  1. @deezid Here is some good news for you here:

    • The value of noise reduction in [V-Log] in Photo Style has been expanded to [-1]. It suppresses afterimages previously occurred in some situations.
    • There were cases where color banding appeared in 4:2:0/10-bit video recording in some situations. This bug has been minimized.
    • There were rare cases where the camera froze during [Segmented File Recording] or during recording at 400 Mbps under a particular set of conditions including the type of SD Card used. This phenomenon has been improved.
  2. @deezid Atomos announced RAW with the Nikon Z6....how long ago? February. 8 months ago. There was an update regarding it in August , where we were informed it was no longer a free update and you need to to send in your camera. Recently, Jeromy Young  went on an interview saying this update will come by BlackFriday but I am not counting on it. I am sure there is some fuckery going on behind closed doors trying to get Raw output via HDMI.

That being said, Jeromy Young  and Atomos have a long history of over promising and under delivering with their products.

I understand you are waiting for the RAW output with the S1H, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

  3. I don't understand how Sigma can market this as offering "full-fledged filmmaking". They seem to be out of touch with the filmmaking community as a whole. Failing to offer any flat profile and referring to it as "a special request"...and that they will look into it "if enough users request it" says enough to me. Even when asked about the lack of headphone jack to monitor audio, the CEO replied "We hope some other companies prepare accessories for our FD camera". Really. That is your response to lack of a headphone jack. "Hope someone else fixes the problem". Nah, Sorry Sigma. You done.

  4. Legitimate question. Is there an email or way to contact Canon in regards to firmware requests or product questions?

I would like to know why the EOSR can record 4k 25P 10bit externally via the Ninja V...but not 1080p 50p 10bit. Why? What bullshit reason does Canon have for this?

  5. I had to create an account to respond to your comments regarding the A7III and the Ninja V.

there is quite a massive difference in image quality, a lot less compression artifact and color noise

Oh nah. That's a negative. It can definitely not be classified as massive. I have both an a7III and an Atomos Inferno..while there is a difference, it is negligible. Here are some examples here and here comparing XAVC-S vs ProRes .  And once you upload the video online and youtube has its way with it, the difference with compression artifacts are even more negligible. The money you invest in an external recorder for 8bit Slog2 would be much better invested in an other things.

Being able to focus track faces, with a steady shoulder rigged  135mm at 2.8 in full frame, without a focus puller is priceless IMO.

Yah. If you are shooting 4k...you can't really track faces reliably. The LCD on the back of the A7III goes off and you get no green box on the external monitor. Sure it "tracks" but in more of a "I pray this works" sorta way.
